“Maybe there are other versions, other lives, but this one’s ours. It’s all we’ve got.”
“…. meeting the monster as the monster met her.”
“It wasn’t easy. The world was complicated. Life was hard. And so often, living hurt.”
I am at a loss for words. This book has destroyed me. Somehow Victoria has made these characters so imperfect and so lovable, and then she just lets them go. This ending just felt like a funeral. And it speaks so much to how I feel rn, gosh it just hurts. Like why????
