This was a fantastic additional story that continued the narrative for two side characters that were introduced in book 2. Honestly princess Ava didn't do much for me, so I was really happy to find out more about her friends since they seemed much more interesting. I love a strong girl who is fighting against gender norms and aims to be a guard, with the strength and abilities from hard work to prove that she's deserved it.
