The Billionaire and The Monk. This book was a wonderful short read. The book imparts so much knowledge. I have learned so much from this read. The book talks about finding happiness and how to achieve it. What I loved were the practical ways in which the book gives tips on how to focus on the things that make you happy. This book was very much in line with my new year resolution which was to do things that stimulate the brain and keep me happy especially in such trying times.
I especially loved the chapter – Money CAN Buy Happiness. I never thought that such a chapter could be written, but the way it was explained and the tips given to handle finances were superb! The book is essentially a self-help book. The book has two characters the billionaire and the monk. Both are in a quest to find the answer to the question – “Are you happy”. The author mentions at the end that the monk represents the heart and the billionaire represents the mind. Once we have both the mind and the heart on the same page and both are having the same goals and aspirations, it makes us happy.
I have underlined so many parts of the book, simply because they resonated with my thought process or ideologies that I wish to incorporate in my life. The book was an eye-opener in many ways. It was a lovely read!
