OMG I couldn't stop smiling and laughing. It was sooooo good to go back to Green Valley. Penny Reid delivers another amazingly swoony read!
Jackson James never thought he’d see the bombshell movie star he spent an unforgettable night with ever again. But after five years when Raquel Ezra decides to escape the Hollywood trappings and hide out for a bit in the small town of Green Valley, can the two escape scandal and work towards something lasting and real?
I honestly never thought I would fall head over heels for Jackson James. Oh boy am I happy to be wrong. The man has layers and I loved every single one of them. He’s shy, modest, kind and incredibly romantic man.
Rae cracked me up. Her inner monologues were so funny and made her more relatable. I wanted to be friends with the witty and charming star. Jack and Rae’s relationship is sweet, loving and sensual. It also felt very organic and real.
As for the secondary characters, well… we’re back in Green Valley, the origins of the Pennyverse. Enough said.
If Penny writes it, I shall read it. From her posts to her books, I love everything she creates. In particular, Totally Folked was clever, with loads of humor, romance, steam, well placed epigraphs, snarky comments and wonderful insights. It’s a great start to what I’m sure will be a wonderful series.
Totally Folked is book #1 of the Good Folk: Modern Folktales series by Penny Reid. It’s a standalone, contemporary romantic comedy told from both points of view with a happy ending. Tropes: Small town romance | friends to lovers
