I thought I would really never get into LGBT books because I am not one of the group but this is my 3rd LGBT books I have read this year and LOVED it. Now I am on the look out for other books I may have missed. I saw the Guncle on Booksagram and thought I would check it out. The book is amazing. Patrick best friend and sister in law dies and his brother needs to go to rehab for a drug problem. So who will take care of his niece and nephew? Steps in the gay uncle or the kids call him Guncle. At first, because of losing his partner, he thinks he can't do it. But as time goes on he is exactly what the kids needs, and what he needs in his life as well. The story was amazing. We all need a little Patrick in our lives, and lets face it we all are Patrick. We have all suffered loss, its how we go on is what is important. Patrick is the person who understands what the children needs at the time of life they are in. The question can Patrick let the kids go and return to his own life? I highly recommend this great book. I am suffering loss of my Father at the moment and this book gives me hope to continuing living my life and not hiding. An excellent book! Go out and it get right away, you won't be sorry!!

"I heard about this book on bookstagram and found it at my local Books a Million. I just wanted to skim through it but I could put it down. I was reading another book but I think tomorrow will be this book. Can't wait to review it!!"

Lovely review. This sounds wonderful. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad. I lost mine this past January. It’s not easy.
