I loved the way the author wove Tudor/Elizabethan England with "the fairy folk" of old (and the ballad of Tam Lin) into such a unique setting. The story was intriguing, mystical, and certainly breath-taking at times. It was fascinating to see how the author integrated the message of the Gospel with her exploration of the ancient "heathen" beliefs and rituals of the fairy folk - and this was done naturally without being didactic.
