Read 2 times. Last read March 8, 2021 to March 16, 2021.

After reading the second book of the trilogy, I can't tell who's good or bad, who wants power and who wants to rule or not... and I really like it. No one is all good or evil, there is a part of darkness and a part of kindness in everyone.

I absolutely love the new characters but I can't say the same about Mal. He's annoying and selfish. I understand he is in pain and feels out of place but he never tries to listen to Alina. He keeps walking away.

Though, I can't wait to finish the trilogy to know the truth !

Second reading : I think I don’t hate Mal as much as I used to. He’s still annoying, I can’t stand when he leaves instead of having a proper conversation with Alina (communication is overrated apparently) but he is in pain. Nikolai is still my favorite, he’s clever and cheeky.
