I was sorely tempted to ditch this book. It’s full of teenage angst and longing for an older man. A long drawn out sexual fantasy eventually realized. There’s a scene with a peach which is quite bonkers. It left me unmoved. Wonder if they kept the peach scene in the film?! 2.5*

They kept the peach but I found the film incredibly moving. Haven't read the book yet though...
