really liked it

Wow. This book was everything I needed to read, but didn't know. Cons: So there are several typos in the book. At first it's endearing, but then later it becomes apparent that the book needed a little more editing. Also, some of the sentence structure seems as though it is not grammatically correct. When I first started the book, I was confused by the timing. It seemed as though boring days took up entire chapters, with characters that then left the book abruptly. However, as the book went on, the timing was similar to the pace I was expecting. I wish it was a little longer. The author was very descriptive about the main character's feelings, but not the overall plot development. I wish we had seen Juliet explore her romantic life a little more, especially in the beginning. The white feminism/Portland gets a little obnoxious in the beginning, but then you get used to it because the descriptions were accurate.

Pros: I liked all of the characters. Even the ones that I didn't like. This was because each of them were just so dynamic. They taught me so much about how to view the world, and certain people's intentions. Juliet reminded me of myself, when I was first coming into my queerness. Hearing her describe certain things was touching. I remember when this world was so new and confusing. Reading a story about another QPOC was exactly what I needed this week, and it was touching. I found this book in the adult section, but it definitely reads as a teen book? I would recommend this book to people who are just learning about queer identity, or their own sexuality. Overall I liked this book.
