I have different feelings for this book. The end felt unfinished, because there were a few plotlines not solved completely. I'm sure they will, because they are important for further books, but I like my books neatly packed and all problems solved. The beginning generic. The middle made me laugh so much, I had tears in my eyes. The characters were… complicated to describe. The plot was well developed. I was missing some solutions.
You see, it’s not easy to write this review. In fact in the beginning I thought, wow, I know this story from a lot of books before. I mean, I know you can’t reinvent the wheel as we say in Germany, but this sounded like every other romance book. That’s what I thought. Well, I was wrong. It developed in a funny, fast paced book I couldn’t put aside till the end.
I really liked the rambling heroine. She was adorkable and I wanted to be her best friend. She was brash and honest and real in a way a lot of heroines aren’t. She knew of her flaws and tried to work with them, around them, to live her life.
The hero was a little more difficult. I would have liked to get more insight in his thoughts and feelings. In my opinion that was not enough to really get to know him.
Two scenes I want to mention, because I think they need some work. The first one was the boxing scene between hero and heroine. He takes off his shoes and she doesn’t even mention his prosthesis after she already suspected it? Not even a little bit? Seems not fitting for her since she never shut up about anything.
The second scene was in the end, when the heroine was flooded with adrenaline. Please, do your research again for this topic. Adrenaline does nothing of what the author described which is a common mistake, but easily solvable.
All in all I enjoyed reading this book. There were a few things that weren’t solved which I would have liked to see a solution for, but this is just me. There were no plotholes or anything and the writing style was easy to read.
