11/23/20: Second re-read: Yeah, this might just become something that I read every year. The reactions of both Devin and Jesse to Gayle's request, trying to deal with both current family and new (maybe) family, the pull between being oneself and honoring what those around you are going through...so good. And reminds me how to be the best Mom I can be to my kids and whoever they fall in love with.
Re-read just before reading The Family We Make -- dammit, the story is SO GOOD! Reminds me once again what a damn fine writer Kaje Harper is!
