In the Woods (Dublin Murder Squad, #1)

** spoiler alert **
Well it all started out so well didn't it (except for poor Katie Devlin). Adam 'Rob' Ryan or whatever the hell you want to call yourself is back to his ol stompin grounds with a lamo name I won't repeat since it gets repeated a thousand damn times in this book. I did so love his playful banter with Cassie, she cracked me up with her one liners and ability to put him in his place, all so cozy and unbelievable for a platonic relationship to be going so very well while they deal with the ugly murder (or 3) before them. Poor kid, really thought she was going to be something, and then gone, like those other 2 kids...hmm wouldn't it be great to find out what happened to them after so long. NOPE, rug pulled out from under you, great relationship gone cause Rob Adam is a dickhead defending Roselyn whom he has known for 10 seconds and burying his very cool and bright partner to never be redeemed. Yes, you got scratched Cassie, don't go on in the next book all about the tragic case for murder squad like it was wwIII =. I am only reading it because somehow I think it is going to resolve what I wasn't told in this book, namely what happened to Rob's friends. How convenient to forget everything after age 12 then have flashbacks full of smells and sights and everything but the what actually happened. Not exactly useful or fulfilling. She's better off with Sam or anyone else who isn't a complete jerk, though again, I do enjoy his interactions with housemate and colleagues. Hope everyone learned a bit of something so moving forward isn't so awkward for us all.
