Love Fortunes and Other Disasters (Grimbaud, #1)

The idea is cute, and so is the narrative voice. But it felt a little scattered, and most of the focus is on the convoluted love charm, which is hardly the most interesting part--I found myself pretty bored with what was going on. A shame, because the two ill-fated lovers are kind of cute. (view spoiler) Slight, but cute.
Read the first half or so, skimmed a bit of the end. If anyone can tell me what happens with the boy who's in love with the boy who doesn't like boys, I'd love to find out what happened there.
This might've been a good book to recommend to younger YA readers, except sometimes the characters acted like they were older and other times the book felt more juvenile. Still, I might check out another book by this author down the road if it's well-reviewed. With more experience and a great editor, there might be something there.
An advance copy was provided by the publisher.

The cover of this is so eye-catching! But that blurb does nothing for me....
