Falling #2

The Sin of Kissing You

Rate this book
I don’t deserve her forgiveness, but I can’t stop fighting for it.

Bay ran from me four years ago and I can’t blame her. I broke her heart and my own with one split second mistake.

Now we’re thrown together for four weeks. Training camp after the draft is the final step to cement my pro football careers, but after seeing her again, she’s the only future I want.

If I were a better guy, I’d walk away and let her live her life. Maybe I haven’t learned my lesson yet because I can’t stop thinking about her. And I won’t stop until she knows how much I still love her.

The sins of my past are hard to run from, but I’ll battle every single one, if it means one more chance with her.

The Sin of Kissing You is the second book in the new Fulton U universe sports romance, Falling trilogy.

... The sin of football and music.

A man who truly loves you is willing to change for you, even his name. Dare, now Keyton, was one of them. He did a lot of things, not only that, to feel like he would have a chance to earn Bay's forgiveness. Her treasured guitar. His football career. The stories behind these things was an impressive display of love, loyalty, and sacrifices. Keyton perfectly defines someone who acts, not just talks.

Note: This is a second chance, sports romance.

"If I couldn’t fix my own life, I could at least fix this for Bay. Even if I was still too broken to be the man she deserved."

The Sin of Kissing You is the second book in the Falling trilogy.

Keyton and Bay met again after four years of being apart. Keyton wanted a second chance to fix his mistakes and show Bay that he truly changed. But, they only had weeks before they went on with their own paths forever. Was it enough for him to be able to win Bay's forgiveness and love again? Unfortunately, nothing could have prepared them for the way things ended.

"I stared out the window, looking past my reflection in the window at the people walking down the tree-lined streets. They were going about their lives, visiting their friends and families, never knowing what it felt like to have to hide the secrets they’d run so hard and fast from until they passed out from exhaustion."

This is one of the best second chance romances that I've ever read. In all honesty, I'm picky when it comes to this trope. But, Keyton's regret and fierce dedication to prove that he's worthy enough for another chance was no doubt convincing. As to Bay, I loved that she found Keyton as someone she could lean on despite of the things he did to her in the past. The thought of it showed that she still believed that he loved her and would do anything for her. However, I felt like she was taking his love for granted a little too much at times. I know, I think many of y'all people will end up hating her, but hate her y'all, for all I care. I wholeheartedly understood this girl's struggles because I can personally relate with her. There's always a big room for improvement. I can feel it and I know it. Just gimme more!

Do you want to know what sucks? This book.

What in the everloving fuck just happened??? Okay so this is a second chance romance so we get all the good past trauma and fun breakup but why are Dare aka ✨Keyton✨ and Bay both just awful characters?

Okay so first of all they should not even have a second chance. We have a guy with violence issues and a girl that clearly runs away I do not see anything happening here.
Keyton was doing better in this book until the bar scene (I mean I would have been furious but I don’t punch I cry) BUT THEN WE GET THE STUPID FÙCKING LETTER OMG MY NO I HATE THIS.

Stupid book,

My love for Dare increased by 1000000%. If you open a dictionary and look for the definition of Loyal you will find this man’s name as an example. This book he did everything he could to earn Bay’s forgiveness. Literally EVERYTHING, no matter the consequences he might face for himself.

HOWEVER...

Bay. Bay. Bay. GIRL..... All the love I had for this woman has evaporated. Gone.
The next BOOK I really really really really REALLLLYYY hope she understands how selfish she has been and grovel.

It’s been a few days since I have read this book and my anger for Bay is still there. And I really don’t want to dislike her because she is dare’s everything. So she better make herself worth his love during their final book. Or I’m going to be really disappointed.

Just when I thought Maya Hughes already did the most with TAOFFY, she really blew her writing out of the water in this one. After the first book, I had some expectations for TSOKY but Maya Hughes took it up a notch. IT FELT LIKE MY HEART GOT SHOT OUT THE ENTIRE TIME.

The story continues right from where we left off in the first book but if you were to see it from a timeline, it comes after the last book in the Fulton U series. Keyton and The Brothel gang have already graduated from FU and are now posted to different pro teams. After four years at a standstill, Bay and Dare finally meet again but this time, they have to spend a month together as Keyton completes his training at her college.

Right when I thought the first book left my heart shattered, I feel Maya Hughes has not only continue to leave my heart broken but also stomped on those pieces multiple times. If you are looking for a typical football romance, this one definitely isn’t. Bay and Dare ended on a very tragic note so it doesn’t come as a surprise that this one would have angst. And by that I mean a lot, a lot, a lot of angst.

Reading TAOFFY felt like I was looking at Bay and Dare from a far distance. They had been lonely teenagers in a small town who found solace in each other and lived in their own bubble. In this sequel, the stakes are higher for them. Not only do they have to pick up the broken pieces of what’s left of their relationship, they also have real-life problems to focus on such as career pathways. This story is not a love story, this is a story about love and pain and everything that encompasses life. I thought I knew Bay and Dare well from the first book, but TSOKY made me truly see for who they are with no holds barred. I felt like I was seeing them without the rose-tinted glasses I usually wear when reading romance. These are two broken characters, one more so than the other, and not everything can be solved by love and passion.

Maya Hughes’s characterisation of Bay and Dare was truly excellent here. She’s managed to make a smooth transition from confused teenagers to mature adults. Bay and Dare know what they want in here and they know there’s no running away. Even though it takes a while (especially for Bay) after that explosive incident at the end of book 1, they sit down and have conversations and they sit down and pour their feelings out to one another. They know that there’s no time for hesitation and silly dances like they did in high school and I appreciated that.

However, that of course doesn’t come with problems. Seeing Keyton in this book really broke my heart. We never knew much about his life in FU because he was always mysterious but in here, we see how he’s really been feeling all this while. Maya Hughes has laid Keyton bare to everyone and it’s clear he’s going through things of his own and has always been. It should be obvious by now that he’s my favourite character by the author because he’s so complex and what you see isn’t really what you get. Keyton has a very dark past and tries to run away from it and in this book, we get to understand how deep those scars run and whether he's truly over it. If you were to go back and read the Keyton crumbs, it might help shine some light on how he’s been. There are some things that don’t go away even after 4 years and Keyton has really kept those close to his heart (including his love for hot chocolate).

On the other hand, we also catch a glimpse of how Bay has been during their long break. After that tragic incident, she molds a whole new personality based on it. Just like Keyton, there are some things she still can’t run away from. Not only does she have to learn to wade through her post-college life, she also has to face the music (pun not intended) and decide whether she should deal with her broken relationship head-on or leave things the way they are. There's a very obvious distinction between Bay's life in those 4 years vs. Dare's and it was a very interesting take. With the characters not being in high school anymore, Maya Hughes shows that life doesn’t stop because of relationship problems and there are much bigger problems they also have to face.

When I read this, I was faced with the conundrum of accepting Bay's decisions or be annoyed. While I wanted things to work out between the two characters, I also had to understand how heartbroken Bay felt and still was. From Keyton's point of view, it's easy to say that he doesn't deserve the treatment he gets from Bay. However as I've mentioned above, not only does Bay have to deal with leftover feelings she also has to think about her future and whether a guy who scared her is worth dropping everything for. It's easier for Keyton to quickly rush into things because he's had 4 years to reflect and plan his next move. Bay however, was not doing the same and thus, might have felt his actions a bit to quick for her liking.

The first book felt like I was riding a scooter through the park. For TSOKY, it felt like I was slowly watching a train running on the tracks, not knowing if it was going to crash and burn or survive. With that ending in mind, I’m really curious as to how Maya Hughes is going to continue their story in the last book. I hope I get a heart replacement because there’s only so much I can take.

It's as if Maya Hughes woke up one morning and said "wow, it seems like a good day to make people suffer THREE TIMES THE NORMAL 🥰."

❝Sometimes it felt like love could fix everything, but part of me knew it was a lie I’d told myself before.❞

The Sin of Kissing You is the second installment in the Falling trilogy, and if you thought the first book was painful, then prepare your heart because this one is gonna break it EVEN more 💔!

4 years after that day when Dare broke Bay's heart and his (and ours!!), they finally met again, but where Dare sees a chance to fix his mistakes, Bay isn't sure she can trust him one more time. But even when they were apart for so long, their feelings and their connection is still just as strong, and now 4 weeks together is all they have to get this sorted out.

This book is literally the definition of "right person, wrong time". Bay and Dare still have a lot of issues to work out –individually and as a couple– before losing themselves in each other, and I know maybe some people are gonna hate/dislike Bay for her actions, but at the end of the day she was really just doing what she believed better for the good of both, and probably the decision that she made is gonna cause a lot of pain in the final installment, but also lead them to get the happy ending that they both deserve so much 🤧

Darren Keyton just wants to put the past behind him and get forgiveness from the only girl he's ever loved, but it's not as easy as just changing his name and pretending nothing happened. Bay has been holding on to her resentment for four years, but suddenly Dare is back in her life and she needs him to only fulfill her biggest dream. It was easy for them to fall into old patterns once they started spending time together and maybe start projecting into a future together again, but the fact that they had a deadline this time put things in perspective, at least for Bay, about what getting into a relationship with Dare again and without solving their problems really meant. I wouldn't call them toxic, but their relationship was too dependent on the other, especially on Dare' side, who even when he was living his dream only thought about having Bay with him. That's why I really loved Bay and her logic in this book, even though those last two chapters caused me a lot of tears I think it was the right thing to do, so they can first put themselves together, and then really go and fight for their happy ending.

I can't explain the pain I felt reading this, but also great work Maya! keep it up, I love this for me! To sum up, Bay and Dare are my babies (in my top 3 of Maya's couples), this is one of her best works to date, AND DAMN WOMAN! just give them their happy ending and stop making me cry!

I absolutely hate trilogies, like absolutely can't stand having to wait between the heart-breaking cliff-hanger and getting my heart put back together. So why I do this to myself is beyond me, especially when I know I have to wait a month between installments. You would think the fact I know I have zero patience would be enough for me to wait. Except when Maya Hughes writes it, I have to read it and now I'm hating myself.

So Bay and Keyton are back in the same place and after everything, I know you're dying to know what happens. Well the first thing that happened was I freaked out because who the hell is Keyton? Then I realised it was just Dare moving on from his high school nickname and I could breathe again.

Obviously, a lot happened and most of it was awesome. Then we got to that last ten percent and I could not breathe. I had spent the whole book wondering how everything was going to happen. How all the different strings were going to intercept and what the fallout would be. But I didn't see that coming. And I hated it, as much as I understood it. But it kind of wrecked me and I feel like I need a support group to deal with it.

And I really need that last book. A month wait feels like the cruellest of punishment. Especially when I know I am going to feel all of the feels. I just can't.

“I wanted to grab her, pull her close and tell her I’d never stopped loving her, not even when I thought I didn’t deserve it.”

The Sin of Kissing You is the second installment of the Falling trilogy, and once again, Bay and Dare own my whole heart, and I want to give them thousands of hugs. TAOFFY ended with the biggest cliffhanger, so you bet I was EAGERLY waiting for TSOKY to come out. It was perfect and exceeded all my expectations. Maya Hughes never disappoints!

Four years after not seeing each other, Bay and Keyton's paths cross again. Keyton has just graduated from Fulton U, was picked by a professional football team, and now must complete a month of training at Bay's college. While she is determined to avoid him and figure out her post-college life, he doesn't see it that way and wants to prove to her that he has changed and is sorry for what happened in high school.

I adored the first installment, so it comes as no surprise that I absolutely loved this one too. Bay and Dare continue to break my heart, and I went through so many emotions while reading their story. With the way TAOFFY ended, the angst between them was, of course, very palpable, and I found myself on the edge of my seat the entire time. I also really liked that you still learn so much about Bay and Dare and their personalities and see them evolve. Book one mainly focused on them falling for each other, being at peace in their little bubble and learning about each other's lives, so you already know a lot about them and their backstory. But in this book, they are faced with new challenges that allow you to discover them from a different perspective. Bay and Keyton's respective career paths are central to the plot, and I found this very interesting and authentic. The ending is once again very heartbreaking, but also understandable, and it was done in just the right way to close this part of Bay and Dare's journey. I have so many questions and theories about the last book in the trilogy, and I can't wait for it to come out because they really deserve all the happiness in the world. At the same time, I'm not ready to say goodbye to Bay and Dare because I've grown attached to them and love them so much.

“I wanted the next lips that touched mine to be yours.”

In four years, Bay has changed a lot. She is still affected by what happened in high school with Dare, she stopped singing and playing guitar, but she has come a long way. She is determined to move on with her life and work in accounting, yet music remains a significant part of her. With Keyton back in her life, she stays alert but will have to make choices about her career and whether or not she is willing to forgive him and rekindle their relationship. I admired Bay a lot in this book. She made tough but brave decisions to fight for what she wanted, even if she had to sacrifice some things.

On the other hand, Keyton is still haunted by what he did to Bay in high school and has never stopped thinking about her over the past four years. While Keyton remained very mysterious in the Fulton U series, he is laid bare in this book, and you understand that he never properly dealt with his past traumas. However, he wants to show Bay that he is different and that he never stopped loving her to, hopefully, rebuild a relationship. Like Bay, Keyton must also think about his pro career, but for him, everything seems to be settled already. Keyton broke my heart even more in this book. He is a very complex character, and I found it so captivating to get a better understanding of his feelings. I'm also glad that he has people around him who support him and believe in him, even if he doesn't always see it. Within two books, Darren Keyton has become my favorite Maya Hughes character and one of my favorite characters in general.

Bay and Dare have grown up, and this time there is no sugarcoating. They put all their feelings on the table and are honest with each other. They know what they want and are willing to fight for it. Like I said before, there was a lot of angst between Bay and Dare, and their chemistry is still off the charts. They shared many sweet moments and sometimes found themselves in their little bubble away from the rest of the world, but their duties always managed to bring them back to reality. I was so happy to see them reunited, but also a little sad because I knew something would shatter their happiness. And god knows my babies deserve all the happiness in the world.

It was also so cool to see some of the Fulton U characters mentioned, and I hope we get a little reunion in the next book!

Overall, The Sin of Kissing You was a rollercoaster of emotions, and Maya Hughes continues to deliver!! You get attached even more to these characters, and I CAN'T WAIT to know what happens next. I need the next installment and BayDare happy ending now!!

A beat, and then another. I was so close to her. So in love with her still, even though I had no right to think I had a place in her heart after what I’d done.

My god. This trilogy. This story. I don't even know where to begin. How do I even attempt to review this book without spoilers?

For me, it's so important to see great plotting when I'm investing myself in a trilogy. What I mean by that, is that the story warrants three books. It's not full of filler and drama for the sake of drama. There's something driving the plot. And in the case of this trilogy, it's all of those things and more.

Where The Sin of Kissing You tells the story of how Story and Dare meet, fall in love, and ultimately have a heartbreaking end of their relationship in high school. This book reunites them 5 years later. Where Bay is still filled with heartache and hurt, Dare is filled with undeniable love and regret. He's ready to crawl on his knees to earn Bay's forgiveness, even at the cost of his dream career.

Dare is what I would call the imperfectly perfect man. He loves Bay so much and has sacrificed and been through so much, that you can't help but love him. But you also see his inner demons that he still can't beat. Demons that haunt him at every turn and the remnants of his fiery anger getting the best of him no matter how much he tries to turn a different page.

Their reunion is anything but smooth, but it was also heart achingly sweet and emotional. No matter how much anger Bay has, her love for Dare never really went anywhere. She finds herself at a crossroads with her life and her career and Dare pulling her in a different direction.

While I wasn't as glued to the pages of this book as I was in the first one, I was still beyond invested in the story. And that ending?!!! To say that I'm dying for book three may be a HUGE understatement. I need the conclusion like YESTERDAY!!!

The Sin of Kissing You is the second installment of the Falling Trilogy so I won't say too much since I don't want to spoil anything. But what I can say is that I absolutely adored Dare in this book. I feel like we got to see a deeper emotional side to his character and it had me falling for him even more. I also really loved Bay and seeing how she's grown and where her path is leading her in life.

There were definitely some angsty moments that had me on the edge of my seat and that ending! I wasn't prepared for where it ended and I just sat there clicking waiting for another page to load. I'm dying to get my hands on the conclusion and I really need Bay and Dare to get their happy ending.

I AM GUTTED.
Let's just say this part of the story did not go as I hoped, but yet, I understand it.
Bay and Keyton reconnect. I am not going to waste your time with any recap or give away any clues because you just need to dive in.
What I will say is that Keyton might be one of my most favorite heroes in a book. He is flawed but vulnerable. He wears his heart on his sleeve held together by staples. There haven't been too many other characters that I've rooted for more than him.
This story is compelling in so many ways. I feel like we can all identify with that time in your life when you are trying to find your way and figure out who you are. I just can't wait to see what happens with Bay and Keyton.

The Sin of Kissing You is book two in the Falling trilogy by Maya Hughes. Bay and Dare's (Keyton) story has absolutely wrecked me. These characters have been through so much. I have cried, swooned, ached and felt all of the feels. This second chance romance has so much tension, angst, passion and emotion. I just have no words. If you haven't started The Art of Falling For You, then please read it now. If you already have, then you are in for a treat with The Sin of Kissing You. It's an absolute must read! I can't wait to see what happens next for these two! Five stars for Bay, Dare and TSOKY!

"The perfect beginning. The perfect story. The perfect love. But it wasn't ours. And no amount of wishful thinking would make that the story anyone would write about us. But as messy as our story was, it still just that- ours."

The Sin of Kissing You is the second installment in the Falling trilogy. Bay and Dare meet again, four years later. Dare, now going by Keyton has graduated from Fulton University and is picked up by Los Angeles' professional football team. His football training camp is being held at a local college which just so happens to be where Bay works as a dormitory's assistant resident director. Despite all this time, their feelings for each other are very much alive and when they cross paths again, their attraction to one another is hot and explosive.

Where do I even begin? My heart was blown to smithereens after reading TAOFFY. If you thought that book was heartbreaking, you're in for quite a surprise... I can't even begin to explain how in love I am with this series, with this couple.

Maya has such a marvelous talent for capturing the emotions of her characters, Keyton especially. That boy has gone through so much and she tells his story so beautifully. We get his raw emotions, all the good and bad, all the regrets, tears, and frustration... we get to experience the pure love these two have for each other. The bond between Dare and Bay is so special. I can easily say that I have never read about a more perfectly imperfect pair that absolutely ensnares your every thought. I pined and ached for these two. I hung onto every single word and found myself devastated when I got to the end. They, hands down, have become one of my all-time favorite couples.

I can always trust Maya to deliver memorable and riveting tales. She is a QUEEN when it comes to writing romance. Her characters are alluring and real. Her stories are intense, emotions pouring out of every single page, each word filling you up with joy and anguish all at once. I needed The Hate of Loving You like yesterday...

P.S. Maya I'm sending you my therapy bills. Thank you very much.

“Sometimes it felt like love could fix everything, but part of me knew it was a lie I’d told myself before”

I’m just speechless…

I don’t even know how to describe what I just read.

This was the most real , passionate and hurting journey ever.

“The only person keeping me from drowning was the same one who’d caused the deluge.”

I really felt like I was there with Bay and Dare, going through the same things.

It was so emotional , I don’t think words can describe all the feelings and all the little things that make this story just perfect the way it is.

It has been four years since everything changed .

“I didn’t know how to pay my dues for the sins of my past when it hurt to look them in the eye.”

And now fate has brought Bay and Dare together for the second time.

There’s so much to say, so much unsaid words. So much guilt and resentment .

And sometimes actions speak louder than words, but would they be enough ?

I’m not gonna spoiler anything , the only thing you need to know is that your emotions will be all over the place . You’ll cry , you’ll smile and you might scream but in the end it will be all worth it. This story is really worth it all.

“One thing even I know is that life never goes according to plan”

You won’t regret it.

Now you just have to buckle up and enjoy another ride.

(And yes, once again you should get ready for another explosive cliffhanger 😉 )

I gave it 4745726 stars

I hope you’ll enjoy it like I did!

FIVE KISSING STARS for Bay and Dare/Keyton 💜🖤💜🖤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Maya left me speechless with this book!

I felt like the first book was filled with all emotions, but after I started reading this book I realized it wasn’t even close to this one in that aspect.

"The Sin of Kissing You" is a second chance romance with a lot of angst and moments that will break your heart and through the whole book you'll cheer for Bay and Dare/Keyton to find their way to each other despite all the misunderstandings and obstacles.

Ah, that cliffhanger!

If you've read and loved the first book from this series, then is time for you to read this book!!!

Highly recommended!!!

P.S. I need "The Hate of Loving You" right now!!!

Maya Hughes somehow managed to increase some intense emotions in this second installment without fail. But the overall content reminded me of my distaste for trilogies, because this couple is more ruined than ever. If angst-ridden romance is your weakness, you may find this an irresistible read, as it overruns your senses and invades your thoughts.

The Sin of Kissing You traverses the restless connection (?) between Bay and Dare, starting with them coming face-to-face following the events of high school. Bay and Dare have transformed into different individuals, but at the same time they haven’t changed—Bay continues to harbour intense vexation and resentment; Dare travels through life burdened by an immense amount of guilt, intent on atonement.

Bay really did annoy me in this. Sure, she’s hurt and irritated because Dare messed up, but were his actions terrible enough to warrant constant mistreatment and selfish behaviour even now, in the future? I don’t believe so. She came across as self-absorbed and determined to keep pushing away Dare; to continue with verbally bashing someone who’s been abused, even if in different ways.

I have issues with this couple's romance and the toxicity of it. Dare's incessant need to be with or near Bay's presence became a concern very quickly, very easily. On the surface, Dare came across as cocksure, but there's a serious lack of self-esteem to his character underneath; an unhealthy and concerning characteristic of dependency on another person who will magically stop him from being aggressive, or have solutions to issues he encounters.

I’m not sure what to expect in the next and last installment. Truthfully, this kind of ruined my enthusiasm for this couple and their romance; it also reinforced my distaste for trilogies. Maya Hughes’ writing is fantastic and there’s no faults to it - angst lovers would rejoice in this because it’s complex, unkempt but beautiful in certain ways. But Bay is number one, not contested on my shitlist.

*takes a deep breathe*

I am still not okay, I finished this book about a week ago and I’m pretty sure I left my heart there.
Maya what have you done to us!! We are ruined 😭

To start off, Maya Hughes writing has always just hit the right marks for me but I can honestly wow, she has absolutely outdone herself with this trilogy. The first book I was obsessed, I thought it wouldn’t get much better then that but nop, she quickly proved me wrong. Maya has completely amped up all the emotions and angstiness of her writing and has done it flawless.
So here is the thing, I don’t cry in books. I don’t think I’m much of a cried in general but this book, this damn book had me sobbing my eyes out.

TSOKY is the second instalment of the falling trilogy, this book picks up where the last booked finished - that being where Bay and Dare (eeeeep I can finally say it though, KEYTON OMG) have unknowingly ended up at the same football training camp, this is 4 years after their devastating part in high school.

In book one you see Dare and Bay continuously gravitate towards each other. They have a lot of personal issues that go on in their lives which starts to get out-weighted by the need they have for one another. TAOFFY mostly focuses on their relationship and how they grow together within that relationship. However in this book, in ways it is the complete opposite. I feel like we definitely get to see them more as separate individuals in this book. We get glimpses of what as happened to them over the last 4 years and how it has affected them. Let’s just say they have definitely gone through - the good, the bad and the ugly or as I like to say, the emotionally scarring.

The character growth for both Keyton and Bay was beautifully done. Even within the first few chapters, we really see how the characters have grown/changed over the last 4 years.
I love both Bay and Keyton with my whole heart, I think they are both incredible and so well written by Maya. The hard work and time Maya has put into the backgrounds and characteristic of these characters have really paid off and it shines through massively in this trilogy.

My heart went out to Keyton, all I wanted was to do everything I could to protect him in this book. Keyton was definitely the stand out character for me this time. He is a character that is so complex and his story runs so deep, it’s almost hard to know where to even start.
In the FU series the glimpses that we got of him only made me more curious, he always remained such a mystery. Although now you can piece a lot of those little scenes of his together and they start to make sense.
If you’ve read book 1 you know just how dark Keyton’s past is. We see they way he tries his best to deal everything the only way he knows, which unfortunately is on his own.
He absolutely breaks my heart in this book with how hard he tries to make things right. Keyton thinks he has moved on from his past but can he really do that if all he has done is keep it locked away and not thought for the last 4 years?
He still has a fair road ahead of him with a lot for him to work through but my hope for Keyton in book three is that he believes he is someone who deserves the absolute best for himself.

Now onto my girl Bay, wow she really knows squash those little already broken piece of my heart, doesn’t she?
In TAOFFY, Bay was my stand out character. I love how she is strong willed, sassy and hilarious she is but the change she had in this book only exceed that. Bay is now extremely determined, doesn’t take anyones attitude and has a bit more of a mysterious hint behind her.
4 years from the first book, Bay’s life is heading in a direction that she isn’t to fond. She has just left college in a degree that she doesn’t love but feels like there is no way out. This is where Keyton re-enters her story and throws it into a spin. Bay is 100% ready to pretend like Keyton doesn’t exist for the next month but when he is extremely determined for that not to happen, how can she resist?

Seeing them together after 4 years, almost as different people but also the same was very interesting. As adults now they have different- bigger life issues, they are trying to manage new careers and work out how to deal with their broken relationship, which is all on top of still trying dealing with their pasts.
Although this doesn’t deter from the chemistry and angst that these two characters have together, it is still there and burning hot. What I love in this book is they don’t want to put aside their feelings anymore. When they finally get talking, both of them truly lay it all on the line. Bay and Keyton say what they have been holding onto for so long and don’t hold back. I feel like this finally shows the other person that they are willing to fight for what they want after all.
Can I just say, the way they continue to support each other through everything no matter what, even after all this time just melts my heart.

The Sin of Kissing You is a massive 4.5/5 stars from me. Same as book one - this book had me on the end of my seat and it kept me on that emotional roller coaster only it felt like it got amped up by 100%. They only reason I’ve taken off half a star is because Bay frustrated me a little with the way she treated Keyton. I felt like he deserved just a little bit more respect from her but at the same time I can understand where she is coming from. (I don’t love her any less, I think she is still an amazing character)

If I’ve said it once I’ll say it a million times, Maya has truly outdone her self with this trilogy, Bay & Keyton’s story isn’t even over yet and Maya continues to give us the best and only the best. I can’t wait to see where this trilogy will end. I hope for my hearts sake, Bay and Dare get their happy ending.

4.5 Kissing you Stars
Where do I begin?

I hope fans of the Fulton U Series took my advice and read the first book because now that time has passed and the secret is out, I can say that Dare is the KEYTON that we all know and love from that series. In the first book of the trilogy we learn about how Dare and Bay knew each other and their life together while in High School, in this story we get more of an understanding on why he began using the name Keyton instead of Dare as he had in the first book.....and we are in present time now as opposed to the first book where it started current and jumped back four years.

Keyton has my heart in the palm of his hands, he is doing everything in his power to right the wrongs that happened with Bay and change his life around. There are sooooooo many obstacles standing in his way you would think he's a hurdle jumper instead of a pro football player. But he is determined to be the guy worthy of her love.

Bay came across somewhat unfavorable in this book and there are a few reasons why but I won't spell them out for you because you'll have to read the book and decide for yourself if you agree with me or not....but I don't think I'm alone in thinking this. Bay has graduated college but is working at the University for the summer program and that is where the Lion's are practicing so she cannot avoid Keyton no matter how much she wishes she could.

Keyton and Bay have a TON of things to work through in order to get their HEA and since this is a trilogy you know that doesn't happen in this book and yes we are left with another doozie of a cliffhanger but the good news is that the third and final book will be out in just a few weeks!

If you enjoy Sports Romances, Music/Rockstar Romances, New Adult Romances, Steamy Contemporary Romances, or Second Chance Romances I would recommend this book to you. Just remember this trilogy needs to be read in the order it was released.

Happy Reading!!!

So disappointed in this author...

There are no words for how disappointed I am in this author. She has been one of my favorites for a while. Her heroes are usually great (with the exception of Emmet, who was a faithless manw***re). She’s been introducing us to Dare for years with the FU series, and we realized what an amazing guy he is. I hate reading trilogies, but I trusted her so I chanced this read. Now I wish I hadn’t. This was a second chance story yes. They knew each in high school and separated for 4 years. Now we find out that the heroine completely abandons him after everything he has done, but for them to be apart another SIX YEARS!!!!!! I typically hate second chances, but I gave this a try anyway. Dare seemed so broken over this girl, that I just had to , and since I trusted the author... But I didn’t sign up for this. I didn’t sign up for a third chance story. My biggest complaint over Maya is that in her second chance stories the characters typically sleep around. So there is about a .0001 % chance that she will have them be faithful and loyal to each other for the next six years. And this is supposed to be a love story. Yeah... Right... Why would o think that is romantic? Why would I want to read this? What a waste of my time and money. I truly expected more from this author, she’s broken my trust and I’ll never rush to one of her books again.

Does anyone who read The Sin of Kissing You feels like Keyton being taken for granted by Bay? I have a strong defense against Bay's character. Miss Hughes sadly can not make me feel even a tiny sympathy toward Bay.

The whole book, from beginning to end, it focusing on how Bay being rama queen, selfish, nagging and selfish. She took advantage of Keyton. I am amaze how Keyton can balance his football career and servicing Bay every whimpy needs. I do not understand the reason why Miss Hughes build Bay to become like this.
BTW, the audiobook is 9 hours long. I have to take several short break to calm my nerves.

Only Keyton manage to raise my rating to 3. But that is also barely.

So this was a book I was eagerly anticipating and I'm so lucky I got the arc because being back with dare and bay again was everything.

Maya Hughes knows how to weave a story filled with angst, emotional and sexual tension and Dare/Bay had that in buckets.

Dare, my poor broken boy. I was so so proud of him in how he was trying to right his wrongs and how he was striving to be a better person in regards to his anger issues. He fought for what he has and he worked for it and I just love how we say how hard he was trying. Especially in terms of him wanting forgiveness from Bay, you could see the work he was putting in and how genuinely sorry he was. And the fact he kept the guitar and fixed it? *cries*

Now Bay, ok let me start off by saying I love her I do, and I get why she is upset but boy did I struggle with her in this book. She to me just came off so selfish and tunnle visioned. It just felt all take take take with her and yes we got scenes of her attempting and I guess finally forgiving Dare, but she just came off so I dunno...not genuine or at least truly present in it. And the end, like I just thought that was a bit cowardly of her especially as she saw how hard Dare was trying and how she knew that in trying to get her forgiveness he was jeopardising his future. So yeah I struggled alot with her. I'm hoping she next installment we see her grovel a bit.

All in all this was a really good book and continuation of their story and I need that next book now because oof that cliffy. Another wonderfully emotional read from Maya!

I disliked this book more the due to 4year jump, little insight into their growth (Bay clearly held a grudge and hasn’t changed but Dare still struggling with his anger, showed growth) and selfish awful Bay. Bay is the absolute worse. I hate her. She seemed selfish in book 1, but this time around it shows what kind of person she is and I don’t like her. So many chances Bay. Dare had some groveling to do but I can say the same about Bay because she wasn’t innocent and had no remorse or guilt for her actions that led to the breakup. I didn’t get the sense that she thought she did anything wrong. Broken guitar sad, yes, but a lifetime of abuse leading to silent suffering and blasting his Tory out to the universe with no warning? How is this the same in understanding? This just shows what type of person Bay is and she doesn’t deserve all him. At all.

I did not like the ending. Another jump. Terrible because now he has to take her back after this to complete the trilogy? A cliffhanger was expected but geez can we get another heroine for Dare? He deserves someone who is just as loyal and devoted to him. Bay doesn’t deserve him. He sacrificed so much to make it up to her. I hope he falls in love and marries someone else. Move on Dare. I’m not on the Bay Dare bandwagon anymore. Bay is just terrible. So many chances. She used him on so many levels. And she is a coward and hypocrite and an awful cold hearted biyaatch. And. Again very selfish. Justice for Dare!

STOP - if you did not read Book 1, The Art of Falling for You, you MUST read that first. This is a trilogy, in order, no skipping stuff.

Okay, you read it? Let's move on.

Maya Hughes wrecked me.
WRECKED. ME.

This is one of the most emotionally involved trilogies I have ever read. It is engaging, steamy, wishful, and heartbreaking. As a reader in book 1, you are happily wishing these opposites attract and stick. In book 2, you are hopeful that fate has them finding each other and stick. I know Maya is going to provide us a HEA and have it stick in book 3. But wow, my heart is a mess after book 2.

Both main characters are dealing with demons of their pasts that molded their childhood, impacted relationships and formed these young adults. But is just 'growing up' enough? Is it marking off the calendar of life enough to be the person you need to be to truly take care of the heart gifted to you?

Book 2 answers that. Is time the answer to have our star-crossed lovers stick? Or has fate crossed their paths for a brief, explosive moment to their final destination?

READ this book. Be prepared for your emotions to be all over the place. And wait for stars to cross again for Dare and Bay.

T-O-X-I-C. Not gonna lie, this couple might be better off if they'd never met. This is the perfect example of why I vastly prefer duets to trilogies, because this couple is more broken now than when they started. And I like them less than I did before. If you're an angst-lover, that might be a selling feature for you; this is an emotional rollercoaster, and I've got to imagine that the only way to go is up. Because things aren't looking too good for our couple right now.

This picks up right where The Art of Falling for You left off, with Bay and Dare coming face-to-face for the first time in four years. It's imperative that you start there first. I won't go into a lot of storyline details, but will say that both Bay and Dare are different people than when they were together last, yet also fundamentally the same. Bay harbors a ton of anger for what happened, and Dare is burdened by endless guilt. It's heartbreaking to see how much their breakup has impacted them both.

I guess my biggest issue with this is that Bay has kind of lost me. Yes, Dare did a bad thing at the end of the last book, but was it terrible enough to warrant the way Bay treats him now? I don't think so. He's already been used and abused in his childhood, so I really don't want to see that happening in his adult life either - even if it's in a different way. Dare has clearly been in a state of limbo since things ended, and while I appreciate that in certain aspects of his life, it's not healthy in others. And that all comes to a head here.

I don't know what to think going into the final book. Honestly, this significantly dampened my enthusiasm for their love story, and it's gonna take a lot to pull me back in. The writing is still very solid and I'm confident that fans of angst will love this - it's emotional, messy, and I have no idea what's going to happen next. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this second chance romance.

I've been trying to gather my thoughts and feelings about this book for the past few days first of all I loved the turns, the time jumps, and their relationship, but what I loved more was the character´s transitions from book 1 to book 2, you can see how mature they're now and how they've grown in the years they've been apart, I loved how realistic it felt.
Characters: I loooved dare, he was perfect in this book, he's still navigating through his past and anger issues, but he's really trying and proving to be a better person, it was easy to relate to and sympathize with him, I know he's going to be even better in book 3 and I'm so excited.
now, Bay I adored her in the first book and she became easily my favorite Maya Hughes character, in this book it was a little harder to connect with her and I must admit a lot of times I didn't understand her fury and resentment, but regardless of that I ended up loving her, she's still this determined and brave girl whose trying to do the best for her and the ones she loves, I just adore her <3
NOW THE ENDING PAINFUUUUUUL I NEED BOOK 3 AND I NEED THEM FINALLY TOGETHER

I love Keyton so much but the ending of the book doesn't make any sense. It's unnecessary drama.
I also didn't like the way Bay acted in this book.
However, Knox was amazing and he deserves his own book!!

DNF at 25%. I can't do it, I tried but I really dislike Bay. She hasn't grown up much in the 4years that have passed, she's gotten even more immature if that's possible. I wanted to stick with it and see where this couple was headed but it's not worth it anymore

Oh my WOW!!!! I was left speechless by the ending of this book! I kept trying to scroll down and there were no more words to my utter dismay. My heart was in my throat for most of this story, but I just wanted MORE.

The passion between Dare "Keyton" and Bay ignites once again - and this book picks up right where The Art of Falling For You left off. Lust, hate and love are all combined and intertwined in almost every interaction between Dare & Bay. They both battle with the unknown of their futures, and with their feelings toward one another.

This book is a roller coaster of emotions, and there are just as many highs as there are lows. Dare cannot escape the demons of his past, and Bay is torn as to what is the right path for her future. One thing that is inevitable is their love for one another. I wanted to stand up and cheer for them at times, and then on the next page shed a tear.

This book will leave you feeling ALL of the emotions, and I CANNOT WAIT for book 3 in this trilogy. Well done once again M Hughes!!!
