Hazel Gardner was only 16 years old when she lost both her parents. Her father appointed his army buddy Devan McGuire as her guardian. A man that shadowed her in the background and worked hard at keeping her on the straight and narrow, until it dawned on her. When she would purposely put herself in mischief’s way, Devan would repeatedly come to her rescue.
“You’re the most fucked up combination of sinful and innocent. It’s enough to mess with a person’s head.”
Hazel’s birthday has become a tradition of sorts for Devan’s presence. However, Hazel raises the stakes on her final birthday as his ward. A proposition of no strings sex to get each other out of their systems.

“I have some fantasies of my own, too.” His gaze drops to my mouth. “You’ll tell them to me tonight.”
For a novella that was 70% sex, Seducing My Guardian was impressive. I mean a day to play out nine years of pent up desire, the scenarios were endless. Yet there was a love story playing out in the background once they finally let down their guards. A man that recognised a woman yearning to be loved whilst trying to do the honourable thing. My only criticism is not being a provided a backstory to Devan. It would have been great to understand why he had been picked as Hazel’s guardian, a reason even she didn’t know.

Goodness, gracious, and like that my kindle is smokin. Katee Robert has done it again with an excellent taboo treat.
Devan becomes Hazel’s ward at 16 years of age; he ships her to boarding school for three years without a word. On her nineteenth birthday, she starts to self-destruct, and Devan shows up to stop her. Now enters the once-year visit to stop Hazel on her birthday, and does he walk in on some doozies. Now at twenty-five years of age and the end of him being her ward, she takes the next step for the next twenty fours hours.
The chemistry between the two is off the charts. Hazel is really a scared little girl but tough as nails. Devan has some severe willpower, dominant, sexy, and sees Hazel for who she is, not the mask. I always wish the author would do the male pov in her books. That is my only constructive criticism. I have enjoyed this series and look forward to more.

The background premise is that Hazel’s parents died tragically when she turned sixteen, leaving her, and her trust fund, under the guardianship of a friend of her father’s—a total stranger called Devan. Devan stays mostly uninvolved in Hazel’s life, except once a year, on her a birthday, she deliberately gets involved in a wild party, from which he comes to extract her.
His guardianship ends on her 25th birthday. So on the night of her 25th birthday, Hazel sets out to seduce Devan, who she’s always wanted. And, err, she does. They end up in a plush hotel room, roleplaying the previous occasions of her birthday as if they’d had sex like they’d both wanted to. It works. It’s not super deep (unlike Devan’s dick) but it doesn’t have to be.
I’m kind of amused this series is a called A Touch of Taboo. Because “a touch” is about the only quantity of taboo I can take without getting squirmy. I am, not let me make clear, judging people who enjoy taboo stories and dynamics. I just … err … don’t. Anyway, this is the least taboo taboo setup the genre could offer: Devan had no involvement in Hazel’s life until her sixteenth birthday, and then his involvement was minimal, bar his acts of emotional support on her birthday. Hazel only decides to seduce him on the night his guardianship ends, and it only on this occasion that he allows himself to be seduced: they both touch upon how inappropriate it would have been to bang when she was in his guardianship, but they’re not above using the possibility of that past wrongness for a kinky thrill.
Basically, it’s all very healthy and consensual is what I’m saying. Because that is a KR book and there is no problematic trope on earth she cannot make wholesome, sexy and empowering for all parties. As is pretty much for the par for the course for KR expect a complicated heroine with sexual agency even when she’s submitting. Devan is a bit less well-delineated: he seems a nice, acceptably possessive guy with a taste for rough sex and a massif schlong. But this is very much Hazel’s book: he’s what she wants, and that’s what’s important here.
It’s very much an erotic romance with the emphasis on the erotic part of that so, for me, the emotional dynamics were slightly underbaked. But it’s also deliberately designed to be a quick, satisfying read so it’s not a significant problem.
Basically this book does exactly what it says on the tin. Thumbs up.

In what shape or form that made this book a taboo? Because he's her guardian? She's freaking 25 year old when the book started dammit. I don't get the taboo or forbidden relationship part. Sure, she knows him ever since she was a teen but I don't feel the chemistry or tension.
I feel like the series really kinda went downhill for me. What I love in the first book in the series is now what I hated most in this book and the book before this (which was the whole roleplaying thing, it was very mucho boring). I guess this is the perfect place to stop for me.

god damn, Katee Robert continues to create spectacular follow-ups to her Taboo series. Each one is better than the previous one, I seriously think this is my favorite book series. No lies, I get so happy reading these books when they come out. They make my day so much better and Seducing My Guardian is no different.
Hazel's turning 25 and this means getting full control of her trust fund. This also means Devan's work as her ward is ending. And though she doesn't see him at all during the year - only one night per year, on her birthday - their relationship is very intense, especially after the last one, her 24th. This time around Hazel is ready to seduce him, but she knows it can't be forever for them. Still, it's clear these two want so much more.
I was obsessed, I am obsessed, I will never stop being obsessed with Hazel and Devan. They are so perfect for each other. Their relationship is *chef kiss* and I want them to be happy forever. From beginning to end, Katee grabbed my attention and I couldn't stop reading until I knew what was going to happen to these two. And of course, because it's a Katee book, you can fully expect lots of steam and sexy moments, but also depth and emotion.
I really love the plotline "they only see each other one night of the year and it's enough until they both want more" this should be in more books!!!!

Seducing My Guardian is another great addition to the Taboo series from Katee Robert. Again she delivers what I’ve come to expect from her and this series. Hazel and Devan were hot. Sizzling chemistry and fantasies they got to reenact . A quick read that gave me all the smut and dirty talking. Not my favorite of the series but still entertaining and sexy as hell.

SEDUCING MY GUARDIAN is another very steamy and sexy read in the TOUCH OF TABOO series. When Hazel’s parents die on her 16th birthday she becomes Devan’s ward but he promptly ships her off to boarding school. Now each year the only time Hazel sees Devan is on her birthday but this year, her 25th, she’ll no longer be his ward and she has a new plan to seduce the sexy man who’s always tempted her.
If you’ve read a Katee Robert book then you know to expect lots of sex, a grumpy hero, and a feisty heroine. I really liked Hazel and Devan and their chemistry was on fire. They’ve both been lusting after the other but Devan is an honorable man and he’s never felt comfortable doing anything while he had financial control over Hazel as her guardian. He tries to resist at first when Hazel proposes a night together but the attraction is too strong. I really enjoyed SEDUCING MY GUARDIAN though I’ll admit, much like the other books in the series, I always want a little bit more when it comes to character depth. What can I say I’m greedy, lol. Of course, this series isn’t meant to be deep in that way so if what you want is a lot of hot sex and two people quickly falling then you’ve got it!
