well, i think it's safe to say i'm obsessed with this series.

"you burn as brightly as one of those stars you pulled from the sky." 🖤

this book emotionally destroyed me. it made me cry, it made me want to stab something, it made me want to scream, etc etc... the love story between Mikhail and Severn is wonderful. the feels they give me are sometimes truly overwhelming.

"he'd fought to keep Severn alive. he'd shared half himself with him. and while they'd had their vast differences, it didn't matter who Severn was inside, Mikhail loved all of him. always had. he'd done terrible things. both of them had. but Mikhail was beginning to understand how love forgave the unforgivable."

"i love you so hard it hurts." 🖤

"you were my guiding light when i was lost."

i'm so excited to see how this trilogy ties up. i feel like the next book will be absolutely wild.
can't be bothered to actually write a more proper review on this book, since i desperately want to move on to book 3. i know that cliffhanger will not let me live my life peacefully until i know what happens...

OUT NOW!

All you Primal Sin fans have had a long wait for the sequel! It's finally out now!

I had an absolute blast writing Mikhail and Severn again. Despite knowing each other for ten years, they don't know each other at all, and of course, after the events in Primal Sin, which saw Milhail's er... meltdown... they've got a lot of hurdles to climb (or fly) over before they can begin to heal. It's probably not a good time then for Severn to lie again, but he's desperate. He needs his wings if anything is going to change. And the only way to get them back is through Mikhail.

The last time Mikhail caught Severn in a lie, he destroyed half of London. If Severn's deception is revealed a second time, Mikhail just might kill them all.

Throw in the distrustful demons, a power-hungry guardian who has his sights on Mikhail's reign, and a crone with their pet rayvern who has an uncanny knack for showing up at the right (or wrong) moments, and Eternal Sin is the explosive second book in the series you've all been waiting for.

“I set out to hurt my enemy and fell in love with him instead.”

This book starts right where Primal Sin ended, after Severn's real identity was revealed, and Mikhail's heart got broken. Severn is now stuck in his angel skin, and held prisoner by the demons, while Mikhail stubbornly refuses to listen to the advice of his angels, is in utter denial of his love for Severn, and is losing his shits. The war between the angels and demons is getting out of control as Mikhail destroys every demon he encounters in a mad search to find Konstantin and exact his revenge. As if this is not enough, Remiel, another jackass, and cold guardian is coming to take Mikhail’s place in Aerie. Now more than ever, Severn needs to find a way to get Mikhail to believe in him again and find a way out of this war before all demons get killed.

Demons... he’d forgotten what it was like to be among them, to have to fight for rank. They were fiercely loyal, hot-headed, and passionate. As Konstantin, he’d been among the most powerful. Now, he was, at best, a novelty, at worst, a threat.

We see more demons in this book as Severn spends the first part of the story sequestrated and under the control of demons. Many believe Severn to be a traitor after spending 10 years with angels, especially since he cannot seem to get rid of his angel illusion. Severn needs to find a way to show them that he is not a traitor, which proves difficult because he still loves Mikhail. I like that we finally got to meet Samiel, but he’s fishy… We didn’t see much of him, but the little we saw did not impress me. He does not seem worthy of Severn, and the sooner we get rid of him, the better.

He knew both sides, had fought for both sides, loved both sides.

Severn is full of conflicted feelings in this second book, but not for the same reasons as in Primal Sin. He knows that his feelings for Mikhail are true, but he’s torn between his love and loyalty for demons and the fact that even if it was an elaborate lie, he still spent 10 years training and living with Aerie’s angels. Severn is tired of this endless and useless war, and now more than ever, he wants to find a way to put an end to it, once and for all.

Someone needed to save these angels from themselves, and Severn wasn’t sure that someone was him, given how he was lying to Solo with every breath. Maybe Mikhail would one day save them all, if he pulled his head out of his own ass in time.

“It has always been a guardian’s sacred duty to protect humans from demons, and from themselves, if necessary. Love kills, therefore, we kill love.”

As the story progresses, Mikhail and Severn slowly realize that there is so much more to the story than the basic “angels and demons are enemies and must kill each other”. The demons feel deeply and have always despised the angels for their coldness and lack of emotions, and Severn is trying to show everyone that demons AND angels were meant to love and not fight. They also come to realize that the guardians are even bigger assh*les than they thought. They control the narrative that is given to the angels, and they brainwash them so they remain unfeeling because they see love as a weakness. I really like the direction the story is taking, focusing more on the politics and the war instead of mostly being about Severn and Mikhail’s conflicted and confusing feelings.

He still loved him, even now. If he could rip out his own, treacherous heart, he would. He fell forward onto his hands and sobbed, unable to hold the immense pain inside.

There was so much hurt and so many frustrating moments in the first part of this book! Both Mikhail and Severn are madly in love but are trying to suppress their feelings. Mikhail is dead set on revenge, while Severn is trying to find a way to get through Mikhail’s defenses and make him see that their love is real and that the war needs to stop. Severn remains my favorite character, but Mikhail is slowly growing on me. He’s really trying to be more open and to listen to his feelings, so there is still hope for him. I think he still has work to do on himself, but he is on the right track, and I love the dynamic between Severn and him.

He’d been so afraid to love, like it was some mystical force he could not control, but love didn’t ask to be controlled. It just was. And love was powerful.

Severn and Mikhail’s relationship is intense and explosive. They are star-crossed lovers who need to figure out the truth about angels and demons' origins and purpose. Their relationship is a mix of love and hate, hope, mistrust, and resentment, and I can’t wait to see how it will continue in the next book, especially with the ending of Eternal Sin! Because of what happened at the end of Primal Sin, their relationship in this book was kind of slower and felt more realistic and genuine this way. We could feel the attraction and chemistry between them, but also their insecurities and fears coming from the trauma of all their lies and bad decisions.

“Before you pass judgment,” Severn said to Mikhail, “Amii used us both.”
“Why is the crone here?” He didn’t sound angry, more carefully curious.
“Aye!” Amii exclaimed. “Why am I here, interrupting your”—she waved a hand—“testosterone-fueled fuck-fest? Nice shirt, angel. Pineapples. Very you.”
Oh gods. Severn thumped his head back against the cottage wall. This wasn’t going to go well.

Special mention for Amii, the shape-changing, bi-gender cambion who seems to be involved in every damn part of Severn and Mikhail's relationship. They're up to something, they're an ally (so far), and they also are quite funny... They did grow on me. The secondary characters are still lacking a little depth and development, but it's better than in the first book, and we can already see that some demons and angels will have a bigger part to play in the last book.

“I am a mess, and hopeless and riddled with flaws, but I’m trying to find my way. Please don’t ever give up on us, on me.”

This book was less predictable than the first one, and I liked the plot better too... Probably because of all the angst and drama (guilty as charged, I'm a sucker for angsty relationships 😬), but oh their love just hurts, while also feeling wholesome. I also really want to see more of Solo in the last book. He’s the cutest and sweetest, and as Severn said, he will make a delightful lover for someone someday (#SoloNovella!!!!!!!).

“I’m afraid of love,” Mikhail whispered. “Of us.”
Severn tilted his head back and peered into Mikhail’s dark eyes. A guardian’s love was a powerful thing. Severn had abused it before, and he might never forgive himself for that. “That’s how you know it’s real.”

“My terrible angel,” Severn whispered, his blue eyes bright in the shadow of Mikhail’s wings.
“My impossible demon.”

The second book was everything I missed in the first one. I fell in love with Severn and Mikhail all over again. And I adore the path the story is taking. All mysteries and intrigues - can't wait to see how everything will unravel in the last book.

I still love Severn the most! 💖 my baby angel with the biggest bad luck that you can get in the universe deserves all the hugs in the world and more. My heart broke for him so many times and I just wanted to see him happy and content.

A foolish thought. Demons did not fly with angels. But he dreamed it all the same, like he’d dreamed of those soft feathers once again wrapped around him and the kiss they’d shared on a rooftop in the rain.

Was I angry at Mikhail after book 1? Yes, I was but at the same time I hated to see him suffering and I couldn't wait for my disastrous lovers to finally get together again.

He wanted him back, not like he needed Severn—because of the allyanse—he just needed someone, anyone, to hold him. He was so very alone, and before Severn, it hadn’t mattered. But now, it seemed, the loneliness was the hollowness inside of him, and for a second or two, Solo’s kiss had made him feel fuller, not as empty, not as cold. Did it mean anything, or was it just his broken mind desperately reaching for company, even if that company was so thoroughly wrong?

After almost insta-love in the first book, I really liked that in this book things between Mikhail and Severn were more slowburn-ish like. Their relationship was so much more genuine because of that.

It didn’t matter who Severn was inside, Mikhail loved all of him. Always had. He’d done terrible things. Both of them had. But Mikhail was beginning to understand how love forgave the unforgivable.

He didn’t know how to voice everything in his head, and so he pulled him down and kissed him with everything he had, hoping that Mikhail would feel all the things he couldn’t seem to speak.

severn-mikhail

Special mentions go to Luxen, Solomon, and Amii! Lux is infuriating but equally intriguing and I'm really looking forward to seeing his character develop. Solo is my precious baby darling and should be protected at all costs!! As for Amii if she is who I think it is, then things are about to turn mighty interesting *grinning* Also, I'm dying for Solo and Lux to be together! Just saying.

“What about a hobby?”
“A hobby?”
“You know… like…” he gestured at the air, clearly struggling, “fishing.” Solo mimed an overarm throw, and Mikhail frowned.
“Fishing?” Mikhail echoed. “For fish?”
“Well, not demons,” Solo laughed a low, melodic laughter.

And now it's about a time I dive into book 3.

“I’m afraid of love,” Mikhail whispered. “Of us.”
“That’s how you know it’s real.”

He kissed his demon in a starlit field and knew nothing would ever be the same again.

i'm a sobbing mess rn so i'm just gonna leave (some of) my favorite quotes here

❝Love is not fed with the eyes. It comes from within, and you are the same within now as you've always been. A demon with a proud, honorable heart, full of love. Mikhail loves you, not your illusion.❞

Mikhail considered it as Severn squirmed some more. ❝What if I want you to make the first move?❞ He sauntered closer, and Severn's heart thumped harder, driving hot blood through his veins. ❝What if...❞ Mikhail was close now, his body and wings filling Severn's vision. ❝I want you to hold me against that wall, grip my wings and,❞ he leaned in, his mouth a tease against Severn's, ❝fuck me so hard I'll be feeling your touch for days?❞

❝But the crone, Amii, is right. Inside, you are you. The only lie, which remains, is on the outside. In there❞—he touched Severn's chest, over his heart, and Severn looked down—❝you're who I learned to love. You stood at my side for years. You're who I turned to when I could not find the answers. You were my guiding light when I was lost.❞

Mikhail broke away and whispered against his cheek, ❝I am a mess, and hopeless and riddled with flaws, but I'm trying to find my way. Please don't ever give up on us, on me.❞
❝Never.❞ Severn's hands clutched at Mikhail's shirt.

❝My terrible angel,❞ Severn whispered, his blue eyes bright in the shadow of Mikhail's wings.
❝My impossible demon.❞

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Something Is Missing...*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

I hate that I didn't wait to read this series until all books were out. Ugh now I have to wait. That said, this was a bit better than book one. Something is still missing from it to be just likable to good. I don't know what. More loyalty maybe? Overall, I liked it, I did, I just didn't love it or dig it. It just was, I guess. I love angels - especially archangels but they are not in this series - and I do love demons as well. I just love angels more. Does anything I say make sense? I'm rambling. Again. Ugh. Still have to wait though...

Characters:
The list is a bit long so I've put it in a spoilers tag.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Dark Fantasy Romance (M/M).

Review:

I started the book last night and read it in 1 sitting as usual with AN books. I really enjoy her writing. It's fast-paced, good writing, flawless world-build, and not very long. Love it.

When I went to bed, I gave this book 4.5 stars rounded down. But as I have reflected today and looked back on the 2 reviews I posted above, I have to give it 4 stars.

Because: same themes get old. Enemies to Lovers. CHEATING/ detailed sex with other people

The latter gets really up in my craw. In normal circumstances, I'd DNF a book for this type of thing or rip into the review with 1-2 stars. The sex with other people doesn't see as bad in AN books, and it happens ALL THE DAMN TIME in all her books! I have not read a single series she wrote in which this does NOT happen. But it annoys the shit outta me! It's not like it's random sex or forced sex in the case of Silk & Steel Lysander's situation (Eoran is a diff story, don't like him). It bothers me when 2 people, in this book's case, already LOVE each other, already are BONDED (as close to married as you can get in this fantasy realm), despite everything else going on, and STILL love each other when in particular Severn has sex with OTHER PEOPLE!!!!

You can rationalize it however you want. And we never see just how much this information affects Mikhail, besides a frown, but even a KISS made Severn drink alcohol and get jealous. So S going the dirty all week long with other people goes over somehow with less effect than Mikhail's ONE tiny, close-lipped kiss...hmmm....

I just don't like it. Would prefer never to read these things, and in fact skipped over all those pages with all this sex with other ppl going on, which pisses me off bc I like AN's writing and would prefer not to skip pages!!

Hence, after that reflection and rant, I have to tear a whole star down.

Otherwise, great.

Entertaining. Fast-paced. Logical. Plot and action. All great.

Just can we please STOP with the cheating????!! Just once??? Maybe in the final book 3??? I swear if I read any more sex with other ppl by book 3, I'll give up on this author. Bc now the 2 are totally solidified in their relationship and love for each other. So PLEASE STOP with the other stuff!

Mikhail pulled the stars down from heaven because giving this a mere 5 was simply not adequate.

It was too much, and everything, and not enough.

It will never be enough because I want to stay with this pair forever.

Oh Severn, Oh Mikhail, what a star-crossed pair of lovers you are. The lies and secrets of demon and angel-kind have torn this pair asunder but I still cling to the hope that love, and Amii, will find a way to save this gods-fated pair. There are twists and turns in this tale, there are lies told and lies uncovered. Mikhail, not surprisingly, continues to struggle with his feelings, after all angels aren't meant to fall in love, and definitely not with demons.

This book gave me more feels than I ever knew existed. Mikhail and Severn's love hurts my heart in all the best possible ways. There is something quite magical about this pair, both when they are apart but even more so when they are together. Not surprising really given their divine heritage. Nothing, absolutely nothing, about this book was predictable. Even as I had only a few pages left to read I still had absolutely no idea what twist would hit me - or one of our heroes - next.

Ariana Nash's prose took a blender to my soul, in a good way! I felt every single emotion, experienced the heartache and agony, drowned in every soul searing kiss, lusted after a dark angel and his golden haired demon, railed at the injustices that befell them. And every single time I felt a smidgeon of hope, some dire peril threatened to rip it all away again. Bravo Ms Nash you have truly left me an emotional wreck, one that will not be set to rights until Infernal Sin is published!

Once again huge kudos to Ariana Nash for yet another corker of a read, and true to form with her books I totally INHALED it in a day 😁.

Eternal Sin is the second book of three in a dark, m/m fantasy series set in an almost dystopian-like, post-apocalyptic London, where angels and demons have been waging war for decades.

We start where Primal Sin finished, with Severn exposed as Konstantin and taken by the demon army, and Mikhail devastated by Severn's betrayal, hell-bent on revenge and the total destruction of the demon Manors. But the allyanse gives rise to an intensely physical, mental and emotional connection, compounding those intense emotions already present between our tempestuous couple, and things are about to get rough.

Watch out for some more divine characters like Samiel, Severn's ex-lover and totally yummy demon, plus of course our old friend Amii, the shape changing, bi-gender cambion who is up to something, but whether it's for good or bad is anybody's guess.

Like the first book, Eternal Sin DOES NOT end in a HEA and we are left with an are you kidding me?! cliff-hanger🤐.

If you're into angels, demons, incubi, epic battles, love hate relationships, steamy romance, dark fantasy and all that goes with it, then get reading😍.

All the stars ✨✨✨✨✨

4.5 stars ⭐️ I read this book in just one breath. This is truly addicting and this is everything that I needed to cure my suffering heart. I love both Mikhail and Severn so much. They both broke my heart and put it together in a most beautiful way.

“I just know that even with everything that’s happened between us, even when I see the hate in your eyes, I’d still die for you.”

Mikhail’s heart hiccupped. “Why?”

“You’re different. I mean… you have your moments of being a stubborn, self-centered prick, but then I see how much you’ve changed and how you could change everything, not just us, but the war too, and I know it has to be you. Destiny brought me here, to you, for a reason.”

There were excellent sex scenes going between these two.

“Severn’s mouth smothered Mikhail’s, and Mikhail welcomed it, relishing the kiss, effortlessly falling into it with all he had.
Severn broke free first and bumped his forehead against Mikhail’s. “I love you so hard it hurts.”

I can't wait to read the final installation!

Much preferred this one over book one!

Severn is just a magnet for bad luck and Mikhail is an absolute disaster, but I felt the connection between them here, whereas I didn't feel anything in book one.

I'm curious to see how things will resolve in book three, but it's definitely a stressful reading experience because there's so much to try and remember and so much to try and figure out! Definitely need a break before I start the last book.

❝Without Aerie, I don’t understand my purpose. Nothing makes any sense.❞

EDIT ~ this review is gonna be pretty vague, because i'm trying to avoid spoilers. . . my more 'spoilery review' is going to be book three, so, yeah, i apologize in advanced for my vagueness.

♥ 𝗦𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗠𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗕𝗬 𝗠𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗟-𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡. . . and I wouldn't have it any other way. Severn is once again put through it in ETERNAL SINS, and all I wanted to do was give him a big old hug. Additionally, I loved the way he was doing everything in his power to make things right. He realized how much his lies hurt everyone around him, and due to that, it was very satisfying watching him put things to rights.

♥ 𝗜 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗭𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦. . . especially Ami. They really added an extra dose of not only humor, but mystery as well. Not only that, but I loved getting to see more of the demon characters, and I enjoy meeting new angels as well. All in all, NASH is another author who really takes advantage of her side characters, they serve a purpose to the story, and they also add depth and character. Side-note, love my boy Solo, and I enjoyed every scene he was in.

♥ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗬𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗚𝗢𝗧 𝗔 𝗪𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗕𝗜𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗥. . . and I for one am ecstatic!! I wasn't sure exactly where MS. NASH was going to take the plot, but when it was revealed, well. . . let's just say I was hype. It really flipped the rules and preconceived notions of the PRIMAL SINS world on its head, and it allows for an interesting change going forward. Additionally, it actually made sense. I cannot tell you how many times I've read a book where a major 'plot twist' is revealed and I'm left scratching my head. Thankfully, that was not the case here. They mythos and what Nash added to the mythos made sense, it was really well executed, and I'm eager to see how it all plays out.

✔ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗜'𝗠 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘 𝗢𝗥 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗕𝗢𝗔𝗥𝗗. . . so, yay!! Yeah, so, I'm pretty much on board with the romance between Severn and Mikhail. Both men really seem to care about the other, and honestly their more romantic scenes give me the warm and fuzzies. Now, would I have liked more tension and buildup? Yes. Would I have liked to see some epic grovel from both of them? Without a doubt, yes. Ultimately, though, I'm happy with the connection that Mikhail and Severn shared.

🅾🅺🅰🆈 𝗠𝗜𝗞𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗟 𝗜𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗘, 𝗜 𝗚𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗦? I'm definitely going to go more in depth on Mikhail in my series review, but for now all I'll say is. . . eh, he's fine? IDK, I definitely wanted to smack him across the face a time or two, because JEEZ-US my guy, what is going on in your head? Not the brightest bulb in the bunch, if you know what I mean. That said, he definitely had his moments. I loved how soft he was for Severn, and the times when he truly relaxed and let his guard down were by far the best. I enjoyed getting to really know Mikhail this time around, and while he's not my all time favorite NASH character, he definitely has some great moments. Overall, I'd say I'm meh on him, only because, well, he's kinda just there in the corner brooding, for the entire book. Put it this way, he really needed Severn around to dislodge the giant metal pole from his behind.

She took the world she created in PRIMAL SIN and expertly expanded upon it. In addition, she really added to the romance between Severn and Mikhail. She gave their relationship room to breathe, and that was a huge added benefit to the book as a whole. Once again she deftly balanced plot // and romance, moreover, her 'plot-twist' // "big reveal" of the series was wonderful. In conclusion, ETERNAL SIN was a huge win for me, and it set up for book three perfectly. So, if you've made it this far, you might as well finish the entire series ;))

Another masterpiece courtesy of the uber-talented Ariana Nash! As expected, it delivered on all fronts — the romance, the angst and the action were all top-notch. Books in this series are rather short, but so freaking intense. 🔥 I’m so glad I waited for the third book and don’t have to live with this cliffie. 😂

“Love is not fed with the eyes,”

I think its quite possible I felt every emotion while reading this. Book 1 had me completely immersed in this world and this did the same. I had to put it down a couple of times because it got a little too much at points, the uncertainty or fear for my favourites.
Told again in dual pov, we meet several new characters and a lot of secrets are uncovered.
If you enjoyed book 1, you will not be disappointed

I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever. I got a copy immediately the pre-order window closed, I was that thirsty for the book.

I read the book and I am disappointed. I love Mikhail and Severn, I thought this book was going to deal with the revenge plot that Mikhail was going to embark on at the end of book 1, instead this book went nowhere. It seemed like a rehash of the last 10% or was it the epilogue of book 1. Severn kept trying to get to Mikhail, pinning and wishing things were different while Mikhail wanted to make Severn suffer for making him have emotions. I wanted them to move past that but they were very invested in that roleplay.

Mikhail let his emotions rule him plenty of times, he killed defenseless people, he hurt Severn badly and almost betrayed him and Severn let him do it, he saw it as atonement for his lies. I didn't get that. The only thing Severn did was lie, Severn killed his own people to be with Mikhail, he treated them as his family but because he lied to Mikhail, Mikhail took it as licence to wreck vengeance on all demons whether they deserved it or not.

The sex was almost boring, the sex they had in book 1 was way hotter. Severn and Lux had more chemistry in this book than he did with Mikhail.

The ending left much to be desired, I bet I know what Djall is going to do and how that would play out in the next book. I hope Nash brings more passion to it because I don't know if I would be able to take another tepid book.

definitely a filler book, but im not really mad about it. i am sad, however, that the novelty of the story is starting to wear of. S and M are soooo good together, but i didnt feel like i was really looking forward to anything about how the story progressed. hopefully my interest is piqued with the next installment!

This review is brought to you by The impossible elevator; a sequel

WARNING: THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS... PROBABLY ALOT OF THEM!!

Another reviewer mentioned that this book read like filler... I understood the sentiment. Reading Eternal sin was SO HARD. It started off rather promising, it really did... by around the midway point it started going to shit... FAST! It was way too easy, and just plain unrealistic.

Mikhail is VERY unlikable to me. The author describes him as noble, righteous on so many occasions.

Mikhail is selfish. His guilt trips are always so short lived that it's borderline nonexistent. He cannot see past his ego for 5 seconds to show true repentance. He had zero character growth the entire book until like the last 10%. The author wanted me to just FORGET everything else he did before then?

He’d fought to keep Severn alive. He’d shared half himself with him. And while they’d had their vast differences, it didn’t matter who Severn was inside, Mikhail loved all of him. Always had. He’d done terrible things. Both of them had. But Mikhail was beginning to understand how love forgave the unforgivable

Vast differences?? Vast differences?
Severn lied... sure.
In return Mikhail tried to kill him (more than once), killed not only angels, humans, and demons in his revenge rampage over a broken heart. He littered the streets with demon heads on spikes, nearly murdered the madame, attacked a HOSPITAL with DEFENSELESS broken demons in hospital beds, smacked around a LITTLE demon KID, butchered Severn's wings, then burned them (the wings) AS HE WATCHED, threw him in a cell, presented him to Remiel so he can be executed, gave him up to Tien knowing she knew he is a demon and not an angel, used him for sex TWICE, and continue to betray him and Severn JUST TAKES IT because he feels guilty that he lied....

My guy you're a guardian angel. You just senselessly murdered ALOT of people unfairly, immorally and you can still sleep at night?

You butchered then burned the love of your life's wings in front of him then threw him to be executed TWICE. How can you sleep at night?

Nash if you're reading this (which you probably aren't) please explain to me why Severn barely reacted to his wings being BURNED RIGHT BEFORE HIS EYES.
No grief nothing... That moment which should have been BIG was.... anticlimactic.

Severn was a complete doormat in this sequel. Because he lied he just accepted EVERYTHING Mikhail did as if he deserved it.
No you deserve better Severn! So much better... Hell I'd rather you be with Samiel or even Lux at this point.

Severn's guilt was strong in this entire book whereas Mikhail's was missing.
Severn also proved his love on MANY occasions. Mikhail on the other hand has no idea what love is. He's a selfish prick who only cares about himself. How dare you continue to question Severn's love even after he saved your life? but then...

He knew, with absolute certainty, that their love was right

Oh really? Because y'all had sex? 😒

Would Mikhail betray him so? Wasn’t it all Severn deserved for breaking his heart? It might even be justice.

Would he betray you so?

Is it justice?

Mikhail: I'm sorry for senselessly murdering many of your people unfairly, in their homes, in their hospital beds, ect
Severn: no biggie, let's just start fresh
Me:

Mikhail the righteous ?

In book one they had to be together. Couldn't stand being apart because of the allyance. In book 2 that's not a factor at all 🤔🤔
Is this the same series?

Amii rose to their feet, old bones creaking. They approached Severn and cupped his face in their soft, wrinkled hands. “Love is not fed with the eyes,” they said softly. “It comes from within, and you are the same within now as you’ve always been..."

Honorable mentions: Amii and Jasper

I loved them in book one, and I continue to love them now. As for the rest of the angels (especially Solo)

Serven and Samiel had more passion
Serven and Lux... phew! Now that was passion
Serven and Mikhail...

The demons are all more likable characters to me. I do not stan not one of the angel characters. I see no redeeming quality in Mikhail. The ending although nicely written rang false to me due to all that transpired in the book itself.

5 star ending on a 2 star book 😑😑

This one was ok. I struggled in the middle for a bit. Something about these two being separated bugged me. They have so much adversity and really they are perfect for one another. I wasn't a huge fan with them both being with other people, but I understand the necessity for each of them at the time.

There are some answers that were interesting in this one. I'm still very curious to see how/where Samiel fits in. I have a feeling it's going to be bad and will crush Konstantin/Severn.

dad and dad are fighting pls stawp

aka a less dramatic way of saying

"An angel and a demon, their love shattered"

ugh, the number of emotions the writer made me feel with this one is inconceivable. i just got out of a reading slump and if this series throws me back in it imma riot.

that being said - this shits amazing

we got warrior angels and demons, betrayal and redemption, lies and destiny galore.

it was so fucking dramatic from start to finish and while I usually don't give a fuck about plot and if an author so much as thinks of separating the two mc's for more than 10% of the book i seriously consider jumping ship
- i fucking l o v e d every single second of this book.

severn is still my little stabby murderous bastard.

Mikhail can go fuck himself sometimes i kind of love him too. (i swear he's trying guys)

"Severn had hurt him, but Mikhail had hurt Severn too."

OH YEAH? NO FUCKING SHIT MIKHAIL MY GOD.

but

"Mikhail broke away and whispered against his cheek, “I am a mess, and hopeless and riddled with flaws, but I’m trying to find my way. Please don’t ever give up on us, on me."

i swear to jesus christ i teared up a time or two

"Amii rose to their feet, old bones creaking. They approached Severn and cupped his face in their soft, wrinkled hands. “Love is not fed with the eyes,” they said softly. “It comes from within, and you are the same within now as you’ve always been. A demon with a proud, honorable heart, full of love. Mikhail loves you, not your illusion.”
Severn closed his eyes. Amii’s touch fell away, and he found himself afraid to open his eyes, to see. When he did, Mikhail was there, in place of Amii, searching Severn’s face, his expression soft."

amii is awesome and i think i know who they are. i so do. this series is nothing if not incredibly predictable but i don't give a single flying fuck i love it so goddamn much i wanna scream

WOW what a ride! I knew things will be explosive after the what Primal Sin ended but darn it was above and beyond my expectations.

For a lot of the book I wanted to strangle Mikhail. At the same time I felt bad for him because he was not only dealing with a broken heart (something painful at the best of times) but also learning to live with emotions for the very first time in his life. Observing him going from being a total psychopath to someone with a normal (somewhat) range of emotions was quite entertaining. When he had his fits I was mostly feeling bad for Severn and Solo. But mostly for Solo. He's such a sweetheart and so naive it hurts. Severn on the other hand knows how to survive and how to deal with emotional wrecks even if he's one of said wrecks. It's both painful and delightful to watch them together, though at times the drama was getting to be too much for me.

While the book mostly deals with the fallout of Mikhail's actions at Tower Bridge there's an overall story threaded between the lines - that of Seraphim and Aerius the first angel and demon. We got a glimpse in Primal Sin and now we learned a bit more. And hopefully we'll learn the rest in the final book. I have my suspicions about a certain cambion/demon but I'm not sharing them so I don't jinx it.

A lot is left for the final book as much like the previous one, Eternal Sin ends on quite the cliffhanger. I'm not really a fan of cliffhangers but they do tend to make the hype for the next book that much bigger. Wrapping up all the plotlines and bringing everything to a satisfying ending seems like a tall order right now but I don't doubt that Ariana Nash will pull it off. And knowing her we won't have too long to wait.

The second book in the Primal Sin series, Eternal Sin, is an emotional read. After the event of Tower Bridge, Mikhail is heartbroken, betrayed and full of vengeance. He wants revenge. He wants Severn to pay for his deceptios. Severn on the other hand is getting weaker and now captured and betrayed by demons, his kind, he doesn't have much to believe in. Except for love. His love for Mikhail is the only thing he's got and he is determined to make Mikhail see the truth.
This book explores the relationship between Mikhail and Severn in more depth. Their love is real and although sometimes not enough, it's beautiful to watch how strong it could be.
I feel it was slightly less angsty compared to the first book but very emotional nevertheless. I enjoyed it a lot and can't wait to start the last book in the series.

"You burn as brightly as one of those stars you pulled from the sky."
"I'd pull them all down for you."

*squeals*

Although I have some critiques, I couldn’t look away from this! I’m going to be fraught with worry until the third book comes out in 2021.

(now if you’ll excuse me, I devoured this in two reading nights, and I don’t think I can see my keyboard)

This one would have been among my favourites but cheating drama had to come in .
I tolerated it in first book cause Severn cheated before he and Mikhail got together and I know it's still cheating because later he claims to have loved Mikhail for a long time. But we can't also overrule the fact that he considered Mikhail an enemy and hated him.

But in this book... It was plain CHEATING. No matter the circumstances or reasons given, it was still cheating. I can't rationalize it. There were scenes of explicit sex with other males ! Not male, males ! First half of the book I totally skimmed because of that.

I loved the author's writing style and story building. I totally love the world of angels and demons where mostly angels are in the wrong.

Just hoping next book will be good.

"Love is not fed with the eyes,” they said softly. “It comes from within..."

I've had high expectations. The story was too easy and I needed more from it. Mikhail showed little character development and continued to be the self-righteous, hypocritical man that he is.
Overall, it was okay and I quite enjoyed it still despite all that. Hoping the last book will make up for everything.

This was so dramatic 😭 Severn and Mikhail are perfect. I liked the plot twist about the angels and demons, and i still don't know what or who Mikhail is supposed to be.

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Ariana!

Oh boy. Where do I begin? I’ve been waiting for this book since I binged Primal Sin in the spring and it did NOT disappoint! This second installment chucked me out of the gate from the very beginning and was constant ride to the finish. I loved seeing Mikhail and Severn on their own journey, separately, as they try to find their way back to each other.

Severn is relentless. He is Ariana Grande “I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it” personified, HA. In all seriousness, he does not give up. I loved watching his character growth in book one, but seeing him in book two really solidifies where he stands in the grand scheme of everything. And I loved seeing his perception widen. It magnifies how far he’s willing to go for what he believes in. He’ll jump off cliffs and leap into the unknown for what he wants and for what he believes in. And as always: he's just as sassy, quick witted, and charismatic as he was in book one. I SWOON.

Mikahil, though. Oh, Mikhail. How many times did I highlight parts of his chapters and comment "Sure Jan"? Hint: A LOT. The poor man is in denial. I can't blame him, considering he did just get his heart broken in book one, but I digress. Mikhail has a lot of inner turmoil to work out. Where Severn knows his cause, what and who he's fighting for, Mikhail is a giant question mark. Seeing him in pain put me in a whole world of hurt. I hated every bit of it (and by that I really, really loved it. I hop on that angst train 24/7 CHOO CHOO).

I just can't get over book two. Catch me re-reading it on release day. Ariana is the queen of giving you that love story that's also a journey. You have to work for the happy ending and that's what I love. Eternal Sin was an emotional rollercoaster. I winced, I giggled, I was scared, then I was heartbroken and then I was happy. Now I'm scared again (thanks Ariana). I also want to know what's up with THE CRONE. I have some ideas. But we'll have to seee...

This book was so exciting and exactly what I'd been waiting for! I can't wait to see how Severn & Mikhail's story concludes in book three.

Feel free to message me if you ever wanna chat about the books! :)
