Simply Crazy

Rate this book
Forget apps, websites and singles events - clearly the best way to meet a guy is to move in next door, accidentally assault him and then demand a job at his company.

If that kind of charm doesn’t totally knock him off his feet, the next step is to build an army. If possible, try to recruit those closest to the target, such as his mom, sisters and closest friends. Sure, it sounds extreme and maybe a little bit crazy, but I’ve always subscribed to the old adage “No one worth having comes willingly.” Okay, I switched out some words there, but you get the point.

Caution: Even the most foolproof plans can have hiccups along the way. I’ve taken the liberty of compiling a list of things you should watch out for: Crazy ex-boyfriends who pop up out of nowhere like an evil jack-in-the box; Women who think a strategic nip slip is effective at landing a boyfriend; Co-workers who think it’s hilarious to prank you at work and then upload the videos to social media.

Still have doubts? No worries. Let this professional show you how it’s done.

What's up world - I'm Jenn Hype.

Author, mother, wife, singer/songwriter, aspiring comedian - I wear many hats. Some of them fit, some of them look ridiculous, and all of them are fun. Life's too short to take anything too seriously, so I don't.

Sarcasm is my go-to, especially when it's most inappropriate. Need someone to make an uncomfortable situation even more awkward? I'm the girl for the job.

I'm ridiculously A.D.D. and I own it. I have a serious addiction to ecards and the majority of my Pinterest account is dedicated to them. The key to my heart is glitter and caffeine - my needs are basic.

I'm a bookaholic and I crush hard on my book boyfriends and their authors. Some might call me obsessive, but I disagree. That word really doesn't do justice to how crazy I get when it comes to something I'm passionate about. I'm not afraid to go fangirl on you, so don't test me.

Anything else you want to know, feel free to ask. I'm an open book, and I love to hear from readers

I read the first couple of pages and was cracking up at the antics of our heroine, Blake. She is the kind of crazy that you want to hang out with because you may get arrested at the end of the night, but it will be worth it. She and our hero, CJ, have a great meet/cute that may or may not involved testicles.

Now I want to hear their meet/cute story. It looks intriguing.

It turns out that the day after their meeting, which could be described as either incredibly romantic or as a giant clusterf*ck, depending upon your point-of-view, is the day that Blake applies for a job working for CJ. She steamrolls him into hiring her. So, I'm liking her take-no-prisoners approach as well as her awesome craziness.

Here is her meeting his mother at the office:

"So, mom,... can I call you mom? Tell me all of CJ's embarrassing secrets so I can blackmail him into letting me keep this job."

As I said, I really want to be her friend.

CJ is not as enamored with Blake as I am. He is basically thinking of ways to get rid of her while she is plotting ways to make sure she stays around. Obviously CJ doesn't understand women because he doesn't immediately surrender to her. A man who gets women would know that he has absolutely NO chance in shaking her. She's good for him, and she has the help of his mother and sisters. That's a lot of women ganging up against one man.

Let's just say that we won the war of the sexes a long time ago...

The story was very fun and also had a lot of feels. I didn't engage in the feel parts too much, and found them to be tolerable in their length and angst. For those of you who aren't dead inside, I think you will like it that the book isn't all fluff. Just the right amount.

MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3-Stars

A fun HEA romantic comedy between a 'crazy' say-what's-on-your-mind girl, Blake, and a stoic war veteran, CJ, whose chance encounter sparks a series of events that has the reader laughing and swooning at the same time!

simply crazy

That being said. . .the novel had some serious downsides hence the 3-Star rating. What a bummer, it had so much friggin' potential! I actually laughed out loud reading some of it (not an easy thing for me) and yet the novel just fell flat, here's why:

CONS:

☠️ - SPELLING & GRAMMAR ERRORS!!! wtf, it's 2019 writers! There shouldn't be handfuls of errors in a novel especially when there are free editing apps available! SUCH A PET PEEVE!!! Send your novel to me and I will do it for free just so writers don't get a bad rep!

writing error meme

☠️ - In the last 50% of the book, there was WAYYY too much thought explanation. Literally, chapter after chapter, the two main characters, CJ and Blake, just start explaining about how they feel, or about their background or just their thoughts on the situation at hand. It is soooooooooo boring to read explanations of a story line just through the thoughts of the main characters for chapters on end. Blake was such a humorous, fun character that the interaction between her and CJ carried the book along just fine, but half way through it stopped and that sucked!

PROS:

🔥 - It definitely had it's funny parts, which I loved! It is so damn hard to find a funny romance novel, am I right? If you have one that made you laugh out loud please tell me in the comments below!! (My last favorite one was 'That Guy' by Kim Jones, I woke my partner up in the middle of the night by laughing!)

🔥 - Adored Blake's craziness and the fact that CJ was the exact opposite of her. The initial meeting of the two is hysterical!

🔥 - I enjoyed the other characters in the book as well, and if it weren't for all the spelling and grammar errors, I might actually be looking forward to reading about them in the upcoming novels in the series. We'll see.

BOTTOM LINE:
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 3-Stars for the humor but seriously I can't recommend a book with so many errors or excessive chapters where the main characters just tell the reader what is going on through their thoughts (we aren't dumb, we can figure it out with subtlety). I think the novel had tons of potential though, perhaps the next ones in the series will fair better.

I might be a little biased here, but what kind of author gives their own book less than 5 stars? That'd be messed up.

Favorite Quotes:

Screw politeness. Life was too short to miss an opportunity to see CJ get spanked by his mom. “No, no, no,” I spoke up. “He doesn’t need to apologize. I’d much rather see him get a whoopin’.”

Don’t watch; you’ll want to lecture me about it and drinking coffee without a bucket full of sugar just isn’t possible for me. Which means I’ll end up just giving it up out of fear that you’ll find out one day and threaten to spank me in front of everyone. I don’t particularly like living my life in fear, or without caffeine. The combination makes for a dangerous level of exhaustion.

I’m not vain, but it’s a sad day when you find your first gray hair. And the worst part is it wasn’t on my head.

Do you know if all those rumors about prison are true? I was hoping he’d wind up being the bottom bitch of some burly guy named Theo who used to be a motorcycle gang leader.

Pity that the beautiful ones always seemed to have the ugliest personalities. The one before me was probably their evil queen.

You have to resort to raising your fist to a woman just to keep her around. Sad. Why is that, exactly? I’d assume it goes deeper than being a bad conversationalist or rancid morning breath.

My Review:

Simply Crazy was a devilishly fun read. I smirked and giggled-snorted my way through this delightful tale. Written from a dual POV of a buttoned up returned vet who had not returned whole by any means, although he was slowly falling for his filterless and overbearing firecracker of a neighbor, a gal with a good heart and snarky tongue who couldn’t hold back a thought for any amount of money. Packed with clever humor, amusing inner musings, insightful observations, quirky and compelling characters, several threads of intrigue, and a few bits of delectable steamy goodness; I adored this amusing book start to finish. I was ecstatic to note this was the beginning of a new series; hopefully, there are additional mischievous tales already in the works.

Screw politeness. Life was too short to miss an opportunity to see CJ get spanked by his mom. “No, no, no,” I spoke up. “He doesn’t need to apologize. I’d much rather see him get a whoopin’.”

I don't know about you but anything with an over the top "crazy" heroine and I am bound to love it. All this crazy feels like coming home xD
And it gives me some serious "that's who I wanna be when I grow up" goals.

Case in point: Blake.
(I can't be the only one who thinks girls having guys name is just uber cool)
She was crazy with a capital "BATSHIT" and oh such a balm to my soul.
Most people can't get crazy right. What they think/write as crazy usually just ends up being a rude, mean, snobby, obnoxious, grown-up she-devil.

Blake, was not. She was blunt and honest and yes, sometimes that can be mistaken as mean/rude but I have it on good authority (mine) it's not the same thing.

Can't wait to read the next books. I really hope Michelle get's her HEA, doesn't have to be in this series, let's face it, there can only be ONE real crazy per family and Blake already filled that quota for the Myers, but I would like to see it happen. Probably with Sebastian's brother (whose name I can't remember...)

Ok so first off we start off with a comical first meet in this one. Blake, she's quite hilarious as she pretty much welcomes herself into the home of a hot stranger. Acting as if they are buddies I found myself chuckling and thinking sometimes I wish I was that brazen.

Now through in a mom, two sisters and your own sister and what we have I like to call a ladies coven. You know the ones heck your are probably in one. All the girls get together to conspire against The Man. After all there is strength in numbers lol. That's what happens in this book and it's so comical to see unfold. I found myself chuckling.

CJ has a tough shell and basically is all business. Its clear that he's closed himself off and in comes Blake like a stage 5 hurricane essentially obliterating all sense of control he is used to having.

It's hilarious as she's outspoken, always bubbly and has him stunned at times in shock because well yup she went there.

There are some very heartwarming moments in this book that has my heart turning into a pile of mush. Straight up awwwww I'm all melty and wrapped up in a big group hug that has me maybe a little tears eyed and I don't get teary eyed.

I loved Blake she stood out for me because she was different, in your face and somewhat batshit cray cray.

CJ was broody but protective and seeing him come out of his shell had me with a smile on my face.

Overall this was a very sweet rom com with a ton of laughter. The characters all had a role to play and added to the story between these two. I'm already wanting some the other characters to get a book and will definitely want to read more.

Have you ever read a book that you cannot stop thinking about? What about a book that makes you literally laugh out loud? What about a book that has a hidden message of accepting and loving who you are, exactly the way you are?
This book right here is that type of book.
This book will leave you salivating for more, you will want to read it again, and again, and again.
I love Blake. So much. I want to be her when I grow up. She is who she is and if you don't like it then you know where the door is.
CJ is a brooding alpha who has been through a lot. There's nothing better than a damaged man! Ok.. that sounded kinda strange but I think you get my meaning?
Have I mentioned that I cried while reading this? No, I don't think I have.. but I did cry. Quite a bit actually..
Anyone who knows me know that I love Jenn Hype's writing style, it's unique and fun.
The character developments are astonishing, I love how each person has their own story and I'm excited to read more from them.
The storyline... wow. It packs a punch. It's hilarious yet emotional, it'll suck you in from the first page.
I cannot recommend this book enough. It is definitely one of my favourite book of hers.. in fact, it's probably one of my favourite books ever.
I wish I could buy this book for everyone and get them all to jump on the crazy Hype Train with me.
A massive 5 stars from me. Go and buy it! You know you want to!

Jessica’s Review

I have loved all of this author's book and was sooooo excited to see she had a new book out. She was a few that aren't RomComs, and I enjoy those, but this author seems to have an amazing sense of humor.

The title of this book totally fit Blake to a T. She was crazy, but in a fun loving, strange, you just want to love her and # kinda way. I wanted to reach into my kindle and just give her a huge hug.

CJ was pretty much her opposite, but it totally worked. He was a yummy hunk of man. I love how we see him slowly change through out the book, but the end, I call dibs! He was perfect.

The plot was a romcom and add in come suspense in the second half! It wasn't so much that it took away from the romcom aspect but it was enough to make me sit on the edge of my seat not wanting to stop reading.

Overall, I need more! I need the next set of snarky characters to share their pasts and find love. This author has this ability to write with a passion that I can see. I can't wait to see what else this talented author has in store for us! 5 stars #2OCCJD

I think I just found my new favorite self help book!
These master plans are perfect for me! I just know l'll go from single
to married by the end of the summer! Seriously for a moment, Jenn Hype's books never fail to make me laugh but she's stepped her game up with this one. It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. It has everything I've come to expect from s Hype book: A hawt hero , a take no prisoners heroine ...OK maybe one prisoner, and a cast of side characters that keep the party moving. And did I mention funny? I should have because that's a Jenn hype staple and it's definitely within these pages.

Wow! I really enjoyed this book! Talk about laughing from start to finish? This book will do it for you. Blake (which is a female) & CJ will keep you laughing. And momma Rose doesn't help any. This book really touched my heart with how everyone is such friends & really cares for each other.
Even when trouble called, I still wasn't upset bc I just felt it would be ok.
Blake is the kind of woman who speaks before thinking & her words & actions will keep you laughing. CJ trying to figure out if she's really crazy is just as funny!
I'm soo looking forward to Hype's next book!

If you like your books with a sassy heroine, brooding hero, awesome side characters that will take you on a roller coaster of emotion then this is the book of you.
Hype is a pro at the sarcastic witty and insane characters but this book she has delved further to bring you a laugh out loud comedy packed with action and all the feels.
Join Blake and CJ on their road from casual acquaintances to learning to accept who they are and who they need, even while CJ fights his feelings like a typical male!

Can Blake be my best friend? Seriously. I want her to come to life. She was funny, witty, playful, and most of all... REAL. She knew her flaws and never downplayed them or apologised for them. She was what she was, if people didn't like it then tough shit!

She blew into CJ's life like a hurricane and messed up his world of control and order in a unique way that had me equally laughing and 'awwing'. And speaking of CJ, his hot, brooding ways made me want him all wrapped up in a package just for me.

I do have to mention that I was confused about his prosthetic though. In the boxing scene she mentions his bare feet being the sexiest feet in the world, but earlier she mentions that she suspects he has a prosthetic, yet she doesn't expand or talk about it. Then later on she describes it stopping below the knee, then again fast forward and it's just above his ankle? It had me thoroughly confused.

Other than the prosthetic that I wish was expanded on a little, I loved it. I wanted more from the ending but I hope we'll see more from Blake and CJ in other books?! I can't wait for Liam and Clara's story (I'm hoping that it's their story anyway)

Simply Crazy (Jaded Series Book 1) by Jenn Hype was so freaking amazing! 5 stars! My second book by the Queen of Sarcasm, and it didn’t disappoint. This knockout is written in alternating first person POV by the two main characters: Blake & CJ. Another romantic comedy teeming with witty banter, strong women, flowing sarcasm, and complications. Blake-she needs to be real so we can be besties;) Jenn writes strong sassy sarcastic women SO well that it’s sinful! This book jumps right into hilarious action, and never lets up. Blake and CJ are both flawed yet amazing people fighting the electricity they have with each other. I LOVE the fact Blake has zero filter, as this is how I live my life, lol! So yeah, I loved this book, I am officially stalking Jenn Hype for more sarcastic goodness, and highly recommend devouring this fantastical read as well!

Simply Crazy by Jenn Hype a fab five-star read. This is the first book in the Jaded series and the first book I have read by Jenn Hype but it will not be the last I can’t wait for the second book in the series, if its half as good as this book is then it will be amazing. I haven’t laughed as hard in a long time as I did when I was reading this book, we all need a Blake in our lives, I wasn’t just laughing I was snorting out loud. I read this book in one siting, so whatever you do don’t start it when you are heading to bed and only plan on reading a couple of chapters.
Blake is described as being a hot mess, a barrel of overbearing and ten shades of crazy. But she is also amazing, loveable and someone I would love to call my friend. This story has it all, some romance, some action, some drama and such chemistry it set the page alight. With just a dash of crazy to keep it interesting. CJ was a little more complex and hard to describe, he has his own set of issues and we don’t get enough of these, but we get enough to get his grasp and understand why he is the way he is. The problem is will the crazy lead him to retreat more into his shell or will it pull him out of it?
If you want a simply crazy read that will have you giggling and snorting and blushing a little also, this is the read for you.

Not gonna lie, I wasn’t sure I was gonna like this one. The description had me a little worried about crazy stalker tendencies, and also being completely vain and honest here, I did not like the cover. That poor female model is perfect, but that hair is just wrong. It looks so fake!

Ok, on to the review. I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised with this book.

I absolutely LOVED Blake. She was crazy, funny, and strong. She danced to the beat of her own drum, and didn’t really care that nobody else liked the song. Honey, you be you, and I love you for it.

I also really loved CJ, and his attempts at remaining stoic, taciturn and unaffected when interacting with the Blake sized tornado. I loved his rapid descent. Some things are just unavoidable, and Blake was that, certainly.

I loved how they interacted. How CJ kept trying to retain some sense of order, and how Blake just kept blowing it up simply by being herself.

Finally, I loved how the author gave herself a 5 star review. I wish I were brave enough to do that with my work, but I don’t have that kind of confidence. So, honey, you just go on wit yer bad self!

Jenn Hype is one of those author's you can't wait to read what's going to come out of her mouth next. And when it's been a while between reading her books, and you get to read a new one, you sit back in awe and remember how much you love her writing style! From page one, I'm messaging my peeps with OMG, I love it. Cue fist bump self because sister leaves her hanging. Then add in Hashtag Shrug, and you begin to realize this girl is all spunk all the time! Add in danger and loyalty of the fiercest kind, and you can only stop and ponder how you wish you could be her when you grow up! Both the author and Blake!

Simply Crazy is Book 1 in the Jaded Series, from author Jenn hype and my first book from this author, and after reading this incredibly brilliant book I cannot wait to see what other great stories I can read from this author.

OMG!

Okay…This book was something else and more. I truly loved every single second of reading this book! From the first page until the end, I either had the biggest smile on my face, and if I wasn’t smiling then I was literally Laughing Out Loud. But what also got me about this book as much as our main character Blake was as quirky and brilliant as she was, and the humour that came with reading this book, this story line also has a suspenseful theme to it. I never expected the twists and turns that occurred while reading this book, and my god did it make this book even more brilliant that I originally thought. This book seriously put me a such a brilliant mood. But not only was this book a comedy, it was romantic, it was sexy, it had some amazing characters, it was an easy read, with some twists and turns that leave you shocked. You also didn’t have to try hard to understand the comedy that came with Blake’s characters. But not only does it have this light-hearted feel to it, it also faces some topics that really stand out, which once again you didn’t expect the characters to have been through and faced, and still continue to find a way to back to themselves. This book flowed from start to finish and I finished it in one sitting. It’s a fun, playful, yet eye opening read, that I would recommend to everyone.

Jenn Hype has created some really interesting and brilliant characters especially with Blake & CJ I love everything about them. She gives brilliant in depth descriptions so as I’m reading the book I could mentally picture the characters and their surroundings and it really helped me connect with this book even more if that’s possible. I seriously cannot rate this book enough.
Their where times where I did get frustrated with the characters either by their decisions, their actions but also because I just wanted CJ to except that his feeling were growing and that he shouldn’t continue to ignore them. You could feel the Sizzling connection that Blake & CJ had from the very beginning, but the connection continued to grow and you could feel each character’s emotions coming right of the page. I loved that when Blake slowly broke down the walls that CJ had up that had some great times together whether that was finally getting CJ to show emotions even just making him laugh to the banter they had together that was just perfect, and that couldn’t keep the smile off my face.

Another great thing with this book is that it was written in dual POV’s. I love reading it from the characters POV’s as we get to really see their thoughts and feeling from them rather than the other person. I also think it helps connect with a character as you get to understand some of their reasons of their actions

Along with our two main characters there are many secondary characters that stand out in this book and make you wonder what their story is, I’d like to see what happens further with Blake’s sister Michelle, especially after the events in this book. But also, Liam and Clara’s story, there is something there between the surface between the two and I’d love a chance to find that out.

I’m so glad that out main characters finally get their HEA! After everything they really and truly are perfect and meant for each other, I hope this book isn’t that last of their story and hopefully we follow their story a little further in future reads but I loved this read from the very first page until the very last. I’ve loved every second of this, I 100% encourage you to pick up this read and love it just as much as I did.

Simply Crazy (Jaded Series Book 1) by Jenn Hype is a contemporary romance story that will make you laugh through most of the story. This is my first story by this author and I enjoyed her creativeness with the plot and characters. I enjoyed her writing style but in my opinion she could use some help with a few details. Her characters are true to life and connectable. They will pull you into their world and take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions you won't want to miss. The story will pull you in from the first word and keep you engaged until the last word. This story really will touch your heart and give it a work out with laughter. Find out what happens when pasts come crashing into the present and they try to make each other better people.

In her opinion, the best way to get a man is to move in next door, accidentally assault him and then demand that he give her a job. If this doesn't work, you go to the next best thing, his mother. What will happen when she recruits his mother, sisters and friends into her army? A little crazy? Maybe but nothing worth having ever just falls into your lap. No plan doesn't have its struggles along the way and hers is no different. Will she succeed with her plan? Will she get him in the end?

This story is a little more difficult to review but I will do my best. These characters are just hilarious. Of course, they have their twists and turns that will leave you saying really! She really is a great character, you will just want to be her best friend. She is a dork that is sassy and honest. She has struggles that she works through but comes out a better person for. He is a little more secretive. It would have been great seeing more information for him. What will he do when his past comes crashing into his current life? She is determined to have him but will she have help? She brings life to his life where he is lacking. They really do make an adorable couple but will they get their HEA? The secondary characters are just as lovable. His mother, you will fall in love with. All the characters just pop off the page. Find out what happens, will she full fill her plan?

This is my second story by Jenn Hype and it was the complete opposite of what I read the first time. I enjoy how an author can be so versatile with their writing. Jane wears many hats in her life including writing, song writing, mother and more. She says life is to short to take anything seriously, so she don't. This is a fast page turner that will have you reading until the last word. You will find yourself so involved in this story, you won't realize what is going on around you. The twists and turns and some of the other situations in this book will keep you going. You will find yourself hoping they get their HEA at the end of the story. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to see if she can bring him out of his shell he has created.

Simply Crazy by Jenn Hype is a fun, well written book that doesn’t take itself too seriously, while at the same time providing depth and emotion that had me hooked.

“You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.”

Blake has never been one for subtlety. Known for saying whatever pops into her head she has a reputation for being loud and crazy. Not that it bothers her. If anything, she embraces how she is and makes no apologies for how much madness she has.
Moving to New York to be with her sister her craziness soon slips out, stunning her neighbour who doesn’t know what to make of it. Not to be deterred, Blake slots herself into his life, whether he wants her there or not.

“I’m no hero, Blake.”

CJ has cut himself off from the world. Physically he is there, each and every day, building up his business to help more people. But emotionally, he is as far removed as he could possibly get. So when is neighbour descends on him out of nowhere, he is shocked. When she also then turns out to be his new office assistance, he has no words.
There is something about her that riles him up, in a way that he hasn’t been in years. It is almost like she goes out of her way to annoy him. Determined not to lose his cool, he decides he has to get her out of the office, any way her can.

“You help people for a living, CJ. You employ wounded soldiers like yourself and give them purpose when the world around them can’t see past their handicap to the capable person inside.”

The irritation soon leads to attraction, and from there feelings that CJ has not allowed himself to feel in as long as he can remember. But Blake is scared that, as easily as he has started to show emotion again, he could just as easily shut those feelings off.

This was a fantastic read. Funny and engaging. I loved how feisty Blake is and how utterly captivating CJ is. The two work so well together and are so great to read about. A brilliant book. I hope we get to see more of the rest of the team!

Reviewed on behalf of 3 Girls Who Love Books Blog
I have different feelings for this book. The end felt unfinished, because there were a few plotlines not solved completely. I'm sure they will, because they are important for further books, but I like my books neatly packed and all problems solved. The beginning generic. The middle made me laugh so much, I had tears in my eyes. The characters were… complicated to describe. The plot was well developed. I was missing some solutions.
You see, it’s not easy to write this review. In fact in the beginning I thought, wow, I know this story from a lot of books before. I mean, I know you can’t reinvent the wheel as we say in Germany, but this sounded like every other romance book. That’s what I thought. Well, I was wrong. It developed in a funny, fast paced book I couldn’t put aside till the end.
I really liked the rambling heroine. She was adorkable and I wanted to be her best friend. She was brash and honest and real in a way a lot of heroines aren’t. She knew of her flaws and tried to work with them, around them, to live her life.
The hero was a little more difficult. I would have liked to get more insight in his thoughts and feelings. In my opinion that was not enough to really get to know him.
Two scenes I want to mention, because I think they need some work. The first one was the boxing scene between hero and heroine. He takes off his shoes and she doesn’t even mention his prosthesis after she already suspected it? Not even a little bit? Seems not fitting for her since she never shut up about anything.
The second scene was in the end, when the heroine was flooded with adrenaline. Please, do your research again for this topic. Adrenaline does nothing of what the author described which is a common mistake, but easily solvable.
All in all I enjoyed reading this book. There were a few things that weren’t solved which I would have liked to see a solution for, but this is just me. There were no plotholes or anything and the writing style was easy to read.

Simply Crazy (Jaded Series Book 1)
By: Jenn Hype
5 out of 5 stars

The story Simply Crazy (Jaded Series Book 1) by Jenn Hype is a romantic comedy book. This is a book that starts off with a bang and doesn’t let up until the last page. It is the story of two people whose first meeting will have you laughing out loud. From that scene forward begins a journey that will have you wondering just what could happen next. At first, one of them just wants the other to go away. He will do everything in his power to make this happen. She has now become friends with his sisters and his mother. What happens next you have to read to believe.

This is the second book I have read by the author and I have to say that she is amazing! She has the ability to weave a story that had me doubled over with laughter part of the time and also truly hoping for this couple to find a happy ending. There are scenes that will touch your heart and others that will make you concerned with the character’s safety. This couple’s story is complicated. He is haunted by what he has seen in the past and tries to forget. He doesn’t want to deal with the pain. She is a person who has never been one to easily make friends. She fears rejection. That doesn’t keep her from saying what is on her mind. She doesn’t have a filter for what she says and it makes for some very hilarious situations. In the beginning, I wasn’t sure how this couple could get together. Then as their story progressed I began to understand why they act the way they do. They both find they have an attraction to each other. Will they take the time to get to know each other instead of pushing each other away? What does the future hold for this couple? Will they end up in each other’s arms? Read this book to find out the answers! This is the first book in a series and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Simply crazy by Jenn Hype
Rated 5 stars

Yowza! This story is a hold your breath, don't put this book down, crack-a-lacking amazing book! Seriously though I did put it down and all I did was think about it until I could zip back home, kick my husband outside and go back to reading.
Blake is a loud, in your face, happy ALL the time girl with no filter and no boundaries. Sometimes this works to her advantage others time not so much. When she first met CJ...I thought she was off her meds with everything she put him through. But nope that's all Blake. She does make this story and CJ's company more lively.

CJ is a former military hard headed, no fun, loner who has some issues which I can't blame him for. He owns his own company and thinks his life is going fine. Although he thinks his new neighbor is out of her gourd upon the first meeting. He is intrigued but she is seriously crazy and then BAM he is knocked on his rumpus when he realizes he "wants " her.

I love love love the crew CJ has working for him at Jade Security. His besties ( Liam, Malcolm and Sebastian) are sneaky, pretty humorous and like Blake better than him?. What?! His Momma Rose , his sisters(Clara and Josi) and Michelle, who is Blake's sister, add to the other side of the coin. They are devious and would love to watch what happens between Blake and CJ
I can't wait to read about all of these characters in future books! This is a new to me author and one I will be reading in the future. Simply Crazy is one of my favorite books that I have read this year! Amazing job!

Simply Crazy by Jenn Hype is definitely five star amazing. What a crazy ride this book is. C.J. and Blake are amazing together. If I could, I would give more stars. I absolutely laughed my way through this book and cried when it ended.
Jenn Hype’s characters are so full of fun and life that they just pop off the page and beg you to come play with them! The descriptions of all of these characters are in depth and full. I want to be part of their circle of family and friends so bad I can taste it. This only happens when the author knows their stuff and Jenn Hype certainly does!!
Ms Hype has given Blake a marvelous sense of humor. She faces each setback with sass and wit. Her interactions with C.J. left me rolling on the floor laughing. Not to leave C.J.out of the review, he plays the perfect straight man to Blake's antics. As the story progresses, Ms. Hype weaves many other characters into Blake and C.J.’s each and every one is full of life and spunk. All of Ms. Hype’s characters are real and believable and hilarious. Her situations are uncontrived. I really loved that I could understand how one thing led to another. The interactions between all of the characters and the situations are very real and very believable and, in most cases, very real.
The back stories are well thought out and wonderfully developed throughout the story. This is genuinely a funny book with some very serious undertones.
In short, I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor who is looking to laugh their ass off.

Simply Crazy is written by Jenn Hype. This story was pretty much hilarious 95% of the time. I loves Blame she has serious foot in the mouth throughout the entire story. Shes a rare character that not only embraces her weird quirky ways, she thrives with them. Even when she herself gets embarrassed sometimes by the stuff that random flies out of her mouth. Enter CJ (Christopher), as Blake in trying to enter her new apartment she senses someone behind her so she does what any rational person does. She attacks with a purse swing, a punch and a knee to her attackers groin. And it is hilarious, especially when he points out that he was watching because Blake was trying to enter CJ's apartment.
I laughed a ton throughout this story whether it was with the characters or at them. There were a few serious moments and you catch yourself giving the characters advice and telling them: no.no.NO!.
This was my first read by Jenn Hype and I can’t wait to read more. Simply Crazy sums up the characters in this story perfectly. The story is told in both Blake and CJ's point of view so seeing both sides during any of their verbal sparring matches just makes the whole scene more hilarious. But can Blake be the one to force CJ's emotions out, after all there’s a thin line between love and hate.

Simply Crazy by Jenn Hype

Blake moved to New York to be closer to her sister, Michelle, who lived there.  She feels the need to get Michelle back out in life after her crazy boyfriend put her in the hospital.  The first chapter had me laughing like crazy when Blake gets home and thinks she's fixing to be attacked at her apartment door.   She gets some serious hits in before he pins her to the wall.  Turns out she is at the wrong door.

CJ was at the end of those hits and when he finally gets Blake contained she decides to come into his apartment and go through cabinets like she belongs.  This is the beginning of the my endless laughing with snorts.  It gets even better when CJ is at work grumbling about the person due for an interview is late and in strolls Blake 30 minutes late.

It ends up being CJ’s mom who ensures her the job, with a little behind the scenes torment to bring CJ out of his shell.  He lost part of his leg in the war and in dealing with memories from that time he has closed himself off from all emotions.  This is the cutest, most entertaining, story that keeps you flipping each page to see whether CJ or Blake win the battle of wills.  You can tell neither wants to fall for the other but it's becoming a lost cause. An absolute must read.

Blake is a little nuts. She is that loopy friend who has the best stories and you have the great time with but you always wonder when you are going to get that 4am call to come bail them out of jail. Not because they are a criminal but because they accidentally slapped a cop after getting thrown out of a bar for dancing on the table and causing a riot. You know that friend....

Jenn Hype's romantic comedy is chock full of laugh out loud moments as Blake decides that her neighbor CJ is going to be her employer. CJ, the owner of a security firm and former soldier is so buttoned up that he has disconnected from anything fun in life. So when he ends up dealing with Blake on a daily basis, it is a toss up if he will come alive or go completely postal.

This is a great read where the heavy issues are dealt with a great touch of humor and a bigger haul of heart. The characters have a real feeling to them that allow the reader to easily identify with them and a storyline that keeps you turning page after page.

Definitely, a winner for Jenn Hype.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

A fun, witty, charming, romantic romp of epic proportions! Its sizzling hot and heartfelt with the kind of cover that SCREAMS this book is going to be so GOOD! I fell in love with our crazy fun heroine and our almost cranky, sinfully sexy hero. I laughed so hard throughout this story but there were more than one scene that had my heart melting. I like how it was both sexy and fun...charming and adorable. The book is written perfection!

Jenn Hype is a "new to me" author, but I am HOOKED on her writing. This rom-com is scrumptious and oh so entertaining. Its perfectly paced and the storyline just draws me in. God, how I enjoyed this read!

Simply Crazy gets a SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its an adorably fun and sizzling romantic comedy that will have you smiling.

I received an ARC for an Honest Review

Omg let me just say hilarious! I couldn't put this book down. Jenn has done it again with another great story with many laughs, lots of fun, and romance.

Blake is crazy as in, we're wondering what she's taking and can I have some? She is by far my favorite character of all Jenn's books. She's funny, whitty, crazy, and all around full of life. She's the perfect girl to bring the dark and broody CJ out of his shell and start feeling again. I couldn't stop laughing at how she just takes the reigns. But like any story, there is some drama. And CJ is a man you learn to love. His past has haunted him and finally Blake starts to show him how to love again.

I cannot wait to see who is next :)

I loved Simply Crazy! It was a quick read because I just could not put it down. This book has everything: it's hilarious, dramatic, plenty of romance (and some pretty hot and heavy scenes), it's even got some action! Hype's got a way with words that will have you feeling all the feels, quickly flipping the pages to see what comes next, and laughing your way from front to end. The ending was satisfying and has me excited to see what comes next!
