This is an alternate-cover edition for ASIN B00G12XU1M.

Danny Thomas was never the boy who got the girl. All through high school, he sat in the back seat and watched his best friend, Skylar McBride, in all his crowning glory. The girls always flocked to Skylar, leaving Danny the third wheel.

Everything changes the first day of college, when Danny meets Mira Anderson and she completely steals his heart. She's the only girl that ever chose Danny.

Through the ups and downs of college, Danny and Mira's relationship blossoms into something truly beautiful. A relationship that dreams are made of. The bond of four friends: Danny, Skylar, Mira and Kylee is tested one fateful night when an accident changes everything.

Inception immediately follows the first book in the Destined Series, Mirage and showcases Danny's point of view during those four years that almost ended the night of graduation.

Ashley Suzanne has been writing as long as she can remember. As a youngster, she was always creating stories and talking to her imaginary friends. Thankfully, her parents also carried this love of fiction, and helped her grow into the writer she is today.

Ashley is a bestselling author and spends equal amounts of time writing and reading. Being the true book whore she is, Ashley would rather dive into a good book before going out of her house. Giving up her career in Real Estate, Ashley has officially moved to hermit status.

When Ashley isn't coming up with her next story, you'll most likely find her on the couch with a kindle in her hand (probably watching some crappy reality show while , annoying her husband by telling him all about her new book boyfriend or spending quality time with her two gremlins ... Sorry, I mean adorable children.

If you are hoping to find out what happens from that HUGE cliffhanger in Mirage keep hoping. If you want to find out more about Danny and Mira's relationship you are in luck!
I went into this book with an open mind and came out torn. Inception goes back four years and we learn a lot about Danny and Skylar's friendship. We also get to see how Danny instantly falls for Mira. It's a great love story and after reading Mirage I would expect nothing less. So why am I torn? Well I like Danny, but I feel as though Mira was really in a relationship with Skylar and Danny is just the stand in. I can't say too much without giving things away, but pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together. My heart doesn't know if I would have chose Danny all along. And by the end of the book I was actually pissed at him. I didn't think that would be possible!
Make sure you read Mirage first! I'm impatiently waiting for the next book in The Destined Series so I can get the rest of the story. I have so many thoughts and predictions about what will happen!!

Favorite Quotes:

"Her blush has to be one of the most adorable things about her. The girl will make a complete ass out of herself when out in public, but put her in an awkward situation, she instantly turns pink."

"They say the whole point of dating is like an interview process, to find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with."

"You're it for me Pea, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. We're going to be so disgustingly happy, our friends are going to hate us."

My Review:

This installment follows part of the same time timeline as the first book, but is told from Danny's POV. A quick and sweet read.

First and foremost TEAM SKYLAR!!!!

" Mira. Such a fitting name. Miracle. She's about to be my miracle, my angel."

Was unable to fall asleep, so I knew I just had to read Inception. That's what I did, and I breezed right through it. I couldn't put it down until I was finished. LOVED it! Inception is a prequel to Mirage. So if you haven't read Mirage first you must to get the full effect. I read Mirage and was left thinking about a few things, but Inception cleared them right up for me and left me wanting MORE!! So Ashley, umm how about hooking a girl up with the second book ;) Lol

" Not when your drunk. When I kiss you for the first time, it's going to be one of those kisses that you're going to try to top for the rest of your life, but nothing will come close. I will give you that kind of kiss."

Inception is told from Danny's POV. I sure do love getting inside a man's head. Don't you? In my review for Mirage I got a little heartfelt especially about the miscarriage. When I read that part in Inception about it my jaw almost hit the floor. I was like WHOA! Since Mirage was basically her dreaming about everything I figured she was just dreaming up some crazy thing about this too. Nope. Everything just makes sense when you read this book.

" I'm yours as long as you will have me."

I won't go much in detail about what happens, just know that it's a lot of Danny's feelings for Mira. How he "plans" asking Mira to be his girlfriend, the proposal, and his feelings about the way Skylar and Mira are together. I love how sweet Danny is towards Mira and you can tell how much he loves her, but I won't lie reading the ending of this book had me pissed off at Danny boy! I'm not going to let it effect me too much, I want to read book 2 first. Just the fact of what he said and was doing that left me wanting to gut punch him. Oh and I got an understanding on how he came about calling Mira Pea!

" Your it for me, Pea. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

Ashley I love you!!! Can I be your best friend?? Just wanted to throw that out there. I am addicted to your work, and want more. I have a feeling our friendship could be great! Lol =)

DEFINITELY A MUST READ!!! GO 1-CLICK RIGHT MEOW! <- Hehe

I rate Inception 5 stars!!!!

" Please God, don't take her from me. She's my world."

" Sweet, please don't leave us. We love you. I can't imagine doing this without you. You're my best friend. You know me better than anyone else does. I need you around. I love you, Mira. Always have, always will."

Inception is a novella that follows Ashley’s first book Mirage. It tells Danny’s POV of things that happened in Mirage- How he and Mira met, about their falling in love, how he proposed to her, and what happened the night of the accident.

I really enjoyed reading Danny’s POV and reading more about these characters. They are a great group and I’ve come to enjoy Ashley’s writing a lot. The story pretty much follows along with the story as told in Mirage until the end. There’s an addition to the story that we didn’t see in Mirage. While at the hospital visiting Mira, Danny meets a girl and he starts talking to her. Then he starts thinking about her a little. Not in a sexual way at all, but still. The fact that this girl was brought into the story and that we already have is a love triangle thing going on here, makes you wonder where Ashley is going with this in the next book. It would solve the whole Mira, Skylar, Danny issue if Danny meets someone else, but it did make me think Danny was a bit of an ass for talking to another girl while Mira was upstairs in a hospital bed in a coma.

I have to say that while reading Mirage I never really became Team Danny or Team Skylar. Danny and Mira were together and I felt bad for Skylar but I didn’t really root for one of them to end up with her versus the other. After reading Inception, I am leaning towards Team Skylar. Quite a few times in Inception Danny asked Skylar for advice or help when it came to Mira- like what to buy her or things to do for her. And every time Skylar nailed it on the head. He knew exactly what Mira would want or love. He knows her so much better than Danny does and Danny needs to get a clue. In terms of Skylar and his feelings for Mira, Danny did notice things that lead him to question if Skylar has feelings for Mira. So at least he isn’t oblivious to the fact, which is good.

Inception is a great novella to accompany Mirage, giving us insight into Danny’s mind and also giving us that little added part that makes you wonder what is going to happen in Awakening. So between the big cliff hanger we were left with in Mirage and this new twist added here, I am ready to jump into Awakening.

Firstly and most importantly
TEAM SKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So we get to see what life was like from Dannys POV and from the time before he first seen Mira at college. We really get a look into Dannys head. I like the guy, but I love Sky and this just made me love him even more. So many tiny things Danny did for Mira were Sky ideas, he knew Mira best. He went to bat for Mira and protected her many times. They had this connection that I did not feel Mira and Danny ever had. a I feel Danny is just a really good friend of Mira's and a first. We get to see how Mira and Sky interact through Dannys eyes and I just fall in love, those two are meant to be together. You can see it and I think deep down Danny can see it also. Especially at the hospital. I really loved this novella and I cannot wait for the next book! I need more Sky, I need to see how this ends. And that is pretty much all you will get from me. Ash did an amazing job and I'm proud of her and love her and her writing to pieces! Great job girlie!
Must read ladies and gentlemen.

Some quotes I Loved:

"I fucking love this night. Let me take a mental picture, hold still boys."

"Skylar, do you know how much I love your face?"
"Yeah,Sweets,I know and I love your face too. Get some sleep."

"Our love is timeless."

"Dude, don't hate that my dog is smarter than you. Isn't that right Sassy?"

"I need you around. I love you, Mira. Always have, always will."

Hmmm.......well in a way I loved it, but also hated it! Does that make sense? The story/plot was well written and very believable, as were the characters.

I just didn't feel that spark between Danny and Mira, I felt more of a spark with Skylar and Mira. Throughout the whole book you can tell Danny is a great guy but at the same time blind as a bat, cause he doesn't see the obvious right in front of him. I think it was more of a lust filled relationship between Danny and Mira, more than anything and they just got comfortable with each other. They were each others Safety Net, not each others True Love unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong they make a great couple but they aren't meant to last for all of life. Its pretty obvious from the get go that she's meant to be with Skylar, they just complete each other. But as to why Skylar stays back and doesn't say anything is beyond me, he seems like the type who would just go for the woman of his dreams and not let anything get in the way. So the question becomes, Why did he take a backseat and not go for Mira himself?

First of all let me say, I know I may be one of few people who absolutely love Danny. There is just something about him that is pure. He loves with all he has and lets his heart lead him. In Inception, you guessed it we get to hear from Danny himself, from the time he first lays his eyes on Mira to the accident and maybe alittle bit after. So, if you were hoping to find out more about what happened after that cliffhanger you won't get it here. You will however get an indepth look into the dynamic of the relationship of Mira and Danny, as well as learn more about Skylar and Kylee. Danny did piss me off however in the end of this book, like where did this negative Danny come from. Ok, I cannot go into more details without giving out spoilers about Inception and Mirage, but please before you read Inception, read Mirage.

Needless to say, I loved Inception and now I neeeeeeeeed Awakening! The Destined Series continues to get better and better, and I can't wait to see how the story continues.

4.5* Was hard at times reading how Danny, Mira & Skylar become close. You couldn't help feel their connection, Mira forming of a relationship with Danny and friendship with innocent flirting with Skylar. All I can say is I think skylar's character is very strong and he holds his feelings in very well. Danny is also a sweetheart. Makes both these male leads very swoon worthy.

***** 3.5 Stars! *****
* I received a free eCopy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review *

Inception, for those who don't know, is the same story as Mirage only this time it is written from Danny's perspective.

Danny and Skylar have been best friends since childhood. They do everything together. It only makes sense that when they go to college, they do that together too. They go to U of M together, they board together, and when they go to freshman orientation they meet the girl of their dreams. Together. The only problem is, the girl of their dreams is the same girl. Mira. But Mira only has eyes for Danny so Skylar takes a backseat to his best friend for what might be the very first time. Mira and Danny's love grows throughout the book and by the time they graduate from college they are engaged and couldn't be happier. But on Graduation night, everything changes. There is an accident and Mira is severely injured. When she flew from the bike she hit her head and slips into a coma.

Inception was a whole different ball game than Mirage. I felt like the book was just written better. It flowed better. The characters were easier to connect to. For example, I was not a big fan of Skylars in the first book. He just seemed like such a dick. In "Inception" you get a whole other perspective on him. I liked that we got a lot more of Danny's story that we missed out on in Mirage.

While I enjoyed the alternate POV and the characters more this time around, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed with the ending. I would never expect the author to be able to "wow" me to the extent that she did with Mirage, but I did expect a little more than what I got. I mean, the ending of Mirage was AMAZING. I'm just saying, expectations were high. Instead of another mind blowing ending, it just sort of....ended. Danny finds a fellow griever in the cafe at the hospital, Melissa, who is visiting her grandfather. Danny is losing more and more hope of Mira waking up every day. He thinks that perhaps it will make it easier for he AND Melissa if the two of them talk to each other and grieve together. Give each other someone to talk to. Someone to listen to the other's woes. And then it ends. Seriously. The End. Still, I can see the potential for where this story might be headed and I think I like it.

I would definitely recommend Inception to any fans of Mirage. For anyone who read the first book and thought they might have liked a little more detail in the story. It's quite refreshing to hear the story from another angle. I will most certainly be reading book #3, "Awakening" to see what happens next with Danny, Mira, and Skylar.

If you haven't read Mirage yet, then you need to stop right now and and go read it. Inception is written based on Mirage but in Danny's POV.
"...Mira. Such a fitting name, Miracle. She's about to be my miracle, my angel..."
Danny Thomas and Skylar McBride have been best friends since childhood. They are so close, they are like brothers. Danny is use to taking a back seat to Skylar. The girls have always been drawn to Sky. Danny is also still dealing with the loss of his dad. But everything is about to change for both Danny and Skylar as they go off to start college together.
"...When I kiss you for the first time, it's going to be one of those kisses that you're going to try to top for the rest of your life, but nothing will come close. I will give you that kind of kiss..."
Danny and Skylar meet Mira and Kylee at orientation. There is an instant attraction between Mira and Danny. Danny has finally won the girl, and she just so happens to be the girl who completely steals his heart. Through out the four years of college, Danny and Mira build a beautiful relationship together. Skylar and Mira become extremely close friends and Kylee is the little sister type friend who helps keep them all together. That is until all their love and friendships get tested on one very devastating night.
"...I think to myself everyday that I'm so lucky to have you and to have met you so early in my life..."
Even though this book is written in Danny's POV and you get to see Danny and Mira's relationship develop in his eyes, you also get to see more of the interactions of Skylar and Mira and you watch their friendship really blossom. What will come of all the friendships? What will happen to Mira and Danny's relationship? Will these four people find their happiness?
"...You have no idea how much I love you. You're my moon, my stars, and my universe..."
Ashley Suzanne had me with Mirage. I fell in love with a story and a group of incredible characters. I was left on the edge of my seat wanting to know what will happen next. And as much as I want to know , I'm happy she took the time to give us Danny's POV. You learn a lot more about Danny and Mira's relationship in this novella. But you also get an understanding of how close Mira and Skylar become as well. I can not wait to read Awakening and see what happens next with these four amazing characters. I absolutely adore this series and give Inception a Nerd Alert A+ or 5 stars!

Inception is book 1.5 in the Destined Series. In book one we learned about and fell in love with Skylar. This book takes us back to the beginning. We learn of the life long history and brotherhood between Skylar and Danny.

Even though we didn’t get past the cliffhanger from book one, we got a different perspective of the events leading up to that end. We saw everything from inside of Danny’s head, which was very helpful since he didn’t have much of a voice in the first book. We also get to see how deeply they all love each other.

Reading this caused me to feel sad about what will come of this love triangle situation. I fear they are all going to get hurt, and very deep bonds are going to be stretched or broken.

~Author Interview~

Me: Danny's character inherited his name from a real person in your life. Was he also given any of the same characteristics or qualities? How did you decide to use his name?

Ashley: When I first had the idea of the book, I wanted to help my husband deal with the death of his best friend, Danny, who yes was a real person. he was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2010. my 3rd son was born just 2 weeks after Dannys death and my husband couldn't name him after Danny, still too soon ... this is my tribute to Danny and I'm gonna give him his HEA one way or another ... Danny had dark and blue eyes, very similar to Danny in the book .. he was such a sweet guy and would do anything for anyone .. everyone loved him, but he was the kid that was always in the background, letting everyone else take the limelight but he was soooo funny .. always doing dumb shit .. BP (that's my husband BTW) misses him everyday .. and Kylee is based off my best friend that died a year ago on the 12th of Leukemia .. Kylee is EXACTLY who Teresa was!

Me: Your husband is in an MC. How did this affect your writing especially the part about an MC?

Ashley: It made the research easy lol .. I don't have to rely on information that's mostly bogus or steal ideas from other books ... I know first hand what happens, what rules are in place .. really, it was nice to put something so close to my real life in this book.

This story is from Danny's point of view of his life with Mira. It starts out from when he left for college as a freshman with his best friend Skylar. It tells of all the important moments they shared together and gives you a little insight on how he felt about the close relationship between Mira and Skylar. He never doubted that they loved each other, but it didn't really make him question anything between them. If you read Mirage, you know that Mira ends of falling for Skylar because she believed that Danny died in the motorcycle accident, but that didn't happen. As I was reading Mirage, I really liked the idea of Danny and Mira together. They seemed like such a cute couple and really loved each other, but she had to move on with her life. I loved Skylar. Yes, he isn't your typical book boyfriend, but I think that is what made me love him more. Then after finishing this book, I fell even more in love with Skylar. He seemed to stay by Mira's side no matter what. After only a month, Danny was starting the process already of moving on. He even seeks out a girl that looks like Mira in the cafeteria. I just think that if he truly loved her like he claims that he does, then he would wait a bit longer to see if she wakes up. Heck, it took Mira six months to get over Danny's death. Mira isn't even dead yet, and he is already thinking like she is. I am going to be rooting for Skylar in the books to come. I hope all works out between Mira and Skylar. I know that they will have some hardships with her being engaged still to Danny, but hopefully they can get past all that.

Ok, I’m biased, I won’t lie.. I LOVE SKYLAR!! So reading this book in Danny’s point of view was not my favorite. Granted I now like Danny now that I got to know him in Inception, but… Skylar’s my guy!

This novella shows us Mira and Danny’s relationship prior to the beginning of Mirage. We get to see how they met, how the relationship progressed all the way up to the accident. Danny is in love with Mira, but sometimes I feel as if it is forced love, like he found the girl he thinks he should be with, and one that didn’t go for Sky first, and not that he’s truly hopelessly in love with her (is this wishful thinking, probably).

This was a very well written story, and as much as I hate to admit it, I do like Danny (don’t tell Sky) and I really feel awful for him, if things go the way I think they will in Awakening. Danny is a good guy, and maybe something will blossom between him and someone we met in this book? LOL (again wishful thinking on my side).

It was also interesting to see Kylee, Mira, Skylar, and Danny’s relationship grow, and how close they became. I think it was odd that Danny never confronted Sky on the things he noticed, but we are all naive sometimes.

This story is great, and definitely gives you more background into the relationships in Mirage. I can’t wait to crack open and start reading Awakening right now to see how this all plays out.

Ashley Suzanne has done another amazing job in writing a story that grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go… now on to book 2 so I can see how this all goes down!! LOVE This series so far!! <3

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review.
This is book 1.5 in the Destined Series.
Yes you need to read book #1 before reading this.

I gave this book 5 Stars.

This book is in Danny's POV and we get to know Danny a little bit better before all that happened in book one.

I am a Skylar kind of girl, but I enjoyed getting to know Danny and how he felt abut Mira. I do believe that some of his feelings for Mira were forced and he did it because he thought that "this is what I am suppose to do."

You also get to see the friendships between the four of these guys really come together and see how they got to be so close.

A Def must read for Destined fans. I liked it a lot.
It does not give any more in sight to what happens at the end of book one. This is basically a get to know them better kind of book.

I read this in one sitting.. Heck I read all three of these books in one day! YES I had no life. Supper was not made, kids were put to bed on their own (well they are old enough to do it themselves) BUT still. I DID NOTHING but read, read, read!!

Thank you Ashley for my new obsession SKYLAR! I enjoy this series so much and cannot wait to read what you have coming up next!!! <3

Love it! Review coming soon... :)

(Updated 10/21/13)

I was provided an ARC copy of this book for my honest spoiler free opinion.

The Destined Series is so far on the top of my MUST read list! Ashley Suzanne has done an amazing job first with Mirage and now with Inception. If you haven’t read my review for Mirage I will recap it for you…

Mirage was one of the bestest roller-coaster rides I’ve ever ridden! It is a story filled with love, heartache, grief and so much more. In Mirage we are given a story through Mira’s POV. There is a twist you will not expect and that twist RUINED me beyond measure. And I say ruined in a good way. I fell in love with these characters (mainly Skylar ;) ) and the story Ashley Suzanne has given us.

Inception is the prequel to Mirage but should be read after. This novella is written in Danny’s POV. We are taken back to the beginning, to a time before the boys met the girls. We are shown how deep Danny and Skylar’s friendship/brotherhood really is. Though Mirage was an amazing book Inception make’s it that much better filling that gaps with more details.

And as I mentioned before I just LOVE Skylar and Inception sealed the deal for me! This badass hottie has me won over!!! He will forever be on my top book boyfriend list. LOL

Ashley Suzanne's 2nd release is just as epic as the first! She's a natural born story teller and it really shows in her writing. She's able to grip you from the very beginning and keep you invested in the book until the very last page. While Inception is book #1.5 in the Destined Series, It can be ready before or after Mirage (Book 1) since the original story doesn't progress any further. It provides a detailed glimpse of the past, allowing us to get to know this amazing cast of characters on a more personal level and explore the creation of the relationships Mia formed with both Danny and Skylar.

I really enjoyed having the background story of how Danny and Skylar met and became friends with Mira and Kylee. I love that the story takes you right up to the point where Mirage takes over, (if you choose to read Inception first). It's not necessary or crucial to read it before Mirage but I'm a bit biased b/c I'm a big fan of Skylar, so I would say go for Mirage first! Even though I'm 100% team Skylar, having this background info into the story in Danny's POV, has left me questioning my original feelings. And while I"m not quite ready to switch over to Team Danny, I can see how this is going to be emotionally damaging and absolutely heart breaking for him….that is, if the story goes how I want it to. Did I mention I'm Team Skylar???

I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on Awakening! I would definitely recommend this series!

Inception was a nice prologue of the relationship between Danny and Mira. Its probably best if you read Mirage first, this 1.5 book takes you on the journey of Danny and Mira's relationship from the beginning but from Danny's POV. I must say that after reading the first book I kinda felt bad for Danny at the end because I really liked Skylar; not so much anymore. Without putting spoilers out here this book is very well written and I finished it the same day I started it, it was a great read. Danny tries very hard to get Mira to love him as he believes he loves her. He does and says all the right things but are they really his thoughts/things? This group of young adults is very close-knit the best of friends, its wonderful to have the knowledge that someone has your back always. From the beginning Danny has jealous thoughts about Mira and Skylar's relationship, should he continue to just let them go or are they warranted? Does Danny really know and love the real Mira or is it simply a physical attraction he doesn't want to lose. After reading the last bit of this book I'm not so sure. Has Skylar really been doing the right thing all these years I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens in the next installment. Thanks Ashley for letting us know why Danny calls Mira Pea, that really is a sweet little bit. Go grab you a copy of this story today so it can fill in some of the blanks for you, you wont regret it way to go Ashley Suzanne :0)

Only Reason for 4 star, is that it was a novella, I loved it just as much as Mirage :)

Firstly thank you to Ashley for providing me with an ARC of this book to review for this :) <3 Much LOVEAGE

YAY! We get to see the story behind Mira & Danny. If you've read Mirage then you know in the beginning we didn't know him as he was involved in an accident and died.

In this though, oh boy.....totally different story.

We get to see who the real Danny is

We get to see the blossoming relationship that blooms and strengthens between Mira & Danny.

This whole book is set in Danny's POV, and his trial and tribulations in winning HIS girl.

I did finish this in one sitting, yes, it's a short novella, but it still had me hooked from page one.

We see more of the relationship between Skylar & Danny, as these two are not only best-friends but brothers, from another mother ;)

Sklyar is still H to the O to the T!

Guys! If you've read the ending of Mirage.....then I think this saying totally goes........"Houston, we have a problem"

There are a few surprises in this book and I can't wait to read Awakening as I have a plan of what I want to happen and I do hope Ashley does come through and give us all, the most important thing in bromance....sorry I mean Romance :) HEA.....That's right out HAPPILY EVE AFTER!

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT FRICKING BOOK!

Inception is told from Danny's perspective, and we get to see what those 4 years before the fateful night at the beginning of Mirage were like. I'm still struggling a little with my feelings about Mirage, and where I would want the story to go. This book actually helped me fill in some of what I felt was missing after reading Mirage and when I finished Inception, I had an urge to go back and re-read Mirage. In Mirage, we only know Danny through the thoughts and feelings of other characters. This book really helped me get a more complete picture of the four main characters relationships with one another, and actually made me feel little more invested in all of them. Some of the dialogue is a little choppy and doesn't feel all together natural, but I still managed to feel some connections with the characters and story line. The conflicts that I know are to come seem a little more real and there is definitely a better understanding of the real angst that likely will be experienced by all of the main characters. This book really helped me to get to a place where I'm more excited to continue with this series than I was before.

First off for some reason I thought this book was about skylar's POV, I know I know I have no idea where I got that from. Secondly, I am a Team Skylar fan if you really look at it Mira really fell for all the kind and wonderful things danny did for her without knowing it was mostly skylar's ideas. In inception we take a look at the younger days of college when Danny first met Mira and the relationships that evolved between them both and friendship between all four( Mira, kylee,Danny and Skylar). I felt that danny was lonely and needed someone to love, he didn't fall in love with Mira but the idea of actually having a girl friend.

Danny"I didn't come to college to whore around; I want someone to spend my time with; someone to love. I think Mira Anderson might be that girl"

Danny again" I'm not anywhere near ready for marriage, but the thought of building a relationship that will last for a lone time is nice to think about". Does this sound like someone head over heels for a girl......Team Skylar I say!!!

I have always hated love triangles but with this book I was sneaked into it without knowing. OMG at about 94 percent into the book all I kept saying is WTF danny....overall its a good read and I'm patiently waiting for Awakenking....

To give a review on inception I have to first tell u that Mirage is the first book in the series and should be read first and I would only have given it a 3 star.

Inception was told in the POV of Danny Thomas BF to Mira.
I would give this book a 3-4 star only because it was well written and it did actually sum up some things from the first story like why he calls her Pea and also a few things about Skylar as well. This book was told from the time Danny and Skylar were accepted to college and what his thoughts were about first meeting Mira and his thoughts on Skylar and Mira's close relationship. I was a little disappointed at the end because they show him meet and talk to some girl while he was getting coffee when his gf he loves so much is upstairs in a coma. I guess this is a set up for him to get his HEA given the way Mirage ended with the cliffhanger we are all assuming Mira and Skylar will end up together. I have to say at first I wasn't sure this POV was needed but I kind of like the fact that u got to see where it started for all of them and I do like when it's from a male POV and not just a female. I hope the next book sums everything up cause even though I would only give Mirage a 3 and this one a 3.5-4 star I would like to see where it ends up.

This is a novella in the Destined series and should be read right after the first one. It is the first book from Danny’s perspective and fills in their dating from his point of view as well as what happens when Mira is in the coma. I love reading books like this where they are basically the same book just from another character perspective. To me even know they are kind of the same they are totally their own book. It was fun reading how Danny was immediately attracted to Mira and felt a connection right away. After reading this I can see where Skylar and Mira always had a connection that was more than just friends. I think Danny didn’t fight hard enough for Mira and was willing to just accept that she might not come back while Skylar just kept telling her how much he loved her and needed her to come back. After the first one with the giant twist I was team Skylar and after this one I am even more team Skylar. If Danny loved her as much as he said he did how could he so easily give up and start to pull back. Skylar was always helping him with ways to impress Mira. I am super excited to begin reading the second book in this series and am glad that I don’t have to wait for it to come out.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

So despite the massive cliffhanger you are left with in book 1 it was nice to go back to the beginning and learn about Danny !

Having said that.....I am so TEAM SKYLAR !!!!

Again not easy to do this without spoilers

We meet Danny and Skylar getting ready to go off to college together. You see that Danny is a momma's boy but yet both boys have a great relationship with their families and each other families which is really nice.
They go off to college and there she is...Mira...you can tell they both like her but she seems more into Danny. Skylar lets this go but yet he and Mira have a strong connection throughout the years. Is it weird ?? Maybe... Does Danny like it ?? Not really... Does he do anything about it ?? Again not really...

Then we get Danny and Mira's big moment which sadly as many other things Danny does for Mira this is all planned by Skylar. WTF - Danny is a great guy no doubt and he means well but knowing what I know from book 1 it is very painful to read about Skylar's role in Danny and Mira's relationship. Everyone is happy...they graduate and BOOM...we are back to that HUGE A$$ cliffhanger !!

Time to dig into book 2 !!
Great job Ashley !!!!

This book is written in Danny's POV, starting from the time he laid eyes on Mira. I loved seeing his side of how the story of the two began. Getting an inside view on Mira and Skylar's relationship made it all the better. Mira and Skylar definitely are friends, but there is just such a powerful connection between the two. I will be honest I am a Skylar/Mira fan, so seeing their relationship unfold is awesome! This novella helps bridge some things learned in Mirage(book 1). I began to understand why Mira was having the dreams she was having while in her coma. It makes it all the more crazy to think that even when someone is in a coma, they really do know what is going on in the world around them. I only gave 4 stars as there wasn't many "ah ha" moments, but just a pleasant bridging of gaps from book 1 and Danny's feelings. Now to wait for Awakening and see where it all unfolds!!! Seriously, you must read this book so you get a feel from all sides of the story!

Ashley Suzanne continues the story of Danny and Mira in the Inception Book 1.5. Only this time we get to read about how Danny fell in love with Mira. Danny's story describes every detail of his and Mira's relationship. INceptions tells how Danny was surprised when Mira didn't pick Skyler since he was the "lady's man". Even though Danny knew Mira loved him and only him we was worried because her behavior toward Skyler said otherwise. Danny also noticed how Skyler was towards Mira, he truly believed deep down that Sklyer was in love with Mira. Only he didn't know what exactly to do about it. Just when Danny and Mira's relationship was in a delicate state Danny finds himself drawn towards another brunette. Reading Danny's thoughts was wonderful, it was great to get the inside look from the other person in the relationship. I'm excited to finsh Danny and Mira's story when Ashley Suzanne's Awakened Book 2 comes out.

This review may contain some spoilers.......

Because Danny isn't present for almost the entire first book, Mirage, it was nice to get his perspective on things. He is a nice guy, and I do believe he loves Mira very much. However, I'm still very much Team Skylar!! And I wonder, how much of Danny and Mira's relationship did Skylar influence? Mira says that one of the things she lose most about Danny is that he remembers the little things. She loves every gift he's ever bought her, every surprise he planned.... BUT almost everything was either Skylars idea or Skylar approved. If you ask me, Danny's ability to even think about moving on proves that he doesn't forever love Mira. This book seriously cemented my pro-Skylar and Mira beliefs... I seriously cannot wait to read what happens next!!

I was given this book by the Author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the story of Mira and Danny through the eyes of Danny and his POV. This story gives you a great insight into Danny’s character, but more importantly it explores how Skylar and Mira interact with each other. I think you see in this book that Danny actually sees it too, that there is a natural attraction between Skylar and Mira.

After this book I am definitely Team Skylar but I do feel for Danny.

It’s funny, when I started to read this story I wasn’t convinced that a Danny POV was necessary, but as I read on I definitely decided that it was. This book was a good read and I enjoyed it. Well done Ashley Suzanne, I am eagerly waiting for Awakening.
