Pushed back by like 45days or so!!! but it comes a day before my birthdayyyyy! :D yayie!!

New Teaser!!

CAGE

“Oh, Cage! I’m so happy for you. This was everything you wanted! You did it!” I slipped my hands in her hair and cradled her head.

“No, Eva. You’re everything I wanted. This is just the insurance that I can provide for you the way you deserve.”

She slipped her arms up my chest and locked her hands behind my neck. “As sweet as that is, I want you to do this for you too. Not for me. This is what you wanted. You’ve wanted it since before I met you. Don’t forget that you’ve been working for this long before I came into your life.”

There were still times that it surprised me that she didn’t get it. The moment she walked into my life nothing remained the same. My reasons for doing things changed. My life had a much bigger meaning. “You’re the center of my world, girl. Don’t forget that.”

Eva

I stood on the porch of my daddy’s house looking out over the familiar land I’d grown up loving. So many memories danced through my head. Once those memories had only been for Josh, my childhood sweetheart, fiancée and now a fallen soldier. He had been my world even after his death. Until Cage York came walking into my life with a swagger and a naughty mouth.
He was nothing like Josh but I’d fallen in love with him anyway. Smiling, I picked up my glass of sweet tea and took a sip. I was waiting on Daddy to get back from his trip to the stockyard. We were going to have lunch together today but his new farm hand had called in sick this morning. I had been almost here when Daddy had called to cancel so I decided to come on and just enjoy the peace and quiet for a while.
“Thought I recognized that Jeep parked out front,” Jeremy’s voice called out from the front yard. I turned my head to see Josh’s twin brother standing underneath the maple tree with his hands in his front pockets smiling at me. I hadn’t seen him since his winter break from college.
I set my glass on the wooden ledge of the porch railing and ran down the steps. Jeremy opened his arms for me to throw myself into. He had been just as much a part of my life growing up as Josh had. The three of us had been inseparable. When Josh had died, Jeremy and I had clung together. We’d made it through by staying close. I just hadn’t realized that Jeremy was ready to move on with his life until Cage came barreling into mine. In a way, Cage had saved both of us.
Jeremy’s arms wrapped around me and picked me up off the ground. “You’re home! I didn’t know you were coming home,” I said squeezing him hard. I’d missed him. Seeing his face was always bittersweet. He looked so much like Josh.
“Semester is over. Time to enjoy my summer break. What’re you doing here?” He asked setting me down on the ground in front of him.
“I came to have lunch with Daddy. He’s gone to the stockyard though. His help called in sick this morning.”
Jeremy waggled his eyebrows teasingly. “Why don’t you have lunch with me instead?”
“I’d love to. I have some chicken salad in the fridge and corn on the cob, black eyed peas and cornbread on the stove keeping them warm. More than enough for just me and Daddy. Come on in and we’ll eat and you can tell me about all the girls’ hearts you’ve broken this year. “
There was a flicker of unease in Jeremy’s eyes that most people wouldn’t have noticed but then most people hadn’t grown up spending everyday of their life with him. I knew him too well. Because I knew him so well I decided to let it go for now. He was protecting something and I was going to let him.
“Your homemade chicken salad?” he asked with a pleased look on his face.
“Yep.”
“Hell, yeah,” he replied and bounded for the stairs without waiting on me.
This was nice. Lately I’d been missing home… Daddy… Jeremy… the past. Not because I wasn’t happy with Cage because I was, deliriously so. It was just that I didn’t feel like I could talk to him about home. Cage and Daddy still didn’t speak to each other. When they were together it was awkward. Even though he didn’t mention it, I knew he still worried that he would never measure up to Josh. If I ever mentioned Josh, the look on his face said it all. I just couldn’t be open with Cage about everything.

4-4.5 Cage York stars!!!

 photo 47c0e00a-b9e7-437b-ab3a-c62aab0edb47_zpsbea31430.jpg

Cage and Eva’s story continues... they have been living together eight months. They are happy. In love. Cage just got a fantastic opportunity. A scholarship to play baseball. Taking it means going to Tennessee. He wants to go, but only if Eva will come with him. He’s not going to leave her behind.

 photo 30cea89a-3615-4668-bdfe-8950798e1a48_zpsc7ddf658.jpg

Eva talks to her daddy about money to pay for college in Tennessee. It goes better than expected. Everything is set. They are going together. Then Eva finds out news that changes everything. Eva’s father is dying of cancer. She can’t leave the state. She has to be with him. And she can’t let Cage stay behind with her. He has to follow his dreams, make a future for them. Cage doesn’t care about his future if Eva’s not with him.
“My future doesn’t matter if Eva isn’t in it.”

He wants to do whats best for her, so he does what she wants, even though it kills him inside. Nothing is more important to Cage than Eva, if this is what she needs, this is what he will do.
 photo 8ae28e50-ceb8-4463-a2a4-8a32f1f75e33_zpsdc55affd.jpg

It isn’t easy being apart from the love of your life. The weeks they aren’t together seem endless. Eva is busy with her daddy, but she still misses Cage. She has Jeremy there, helping her father and being there to support her, but it’s not the same. Cage can’t take being away from Eva. Especially when he knows how much she needs him. It’s killing him. Thankfully, he can come home every few weeks. They can be together.

 photo 50c33bc2-6517-42db-b919-60da9b03ecc0_zpsfc1d3f46.jpg

Cage is having trouble with some of his teammates. They don’t all understand the concept of him being a taken man. He is loyal to Eva. He would never, ever cheat on her. He doesn’t want another woman. Not ever. Then Cage gets put in a compromising position. Eva finds out. She is in a bad place. She says some hurtful things. They both are lost without one another, but with everything going on... they just can’t seem to get it together. Months go by. Cage is miserable. Eva has Jeremy, and her daddy to worry about, but she is miserable as well. Not only that, she has something else big to worry about.

There were a few frustrating moments... it was hard to be too upset with Eva and some of her actions. Having her only family dying kind of gives her a free pass. My heart broke for her. And for Cage. That poor boy was just beside himself. I couldn’t tell you how happy I was when he decided to fight. Fight for what he loves. Fight for what’s his.
“I’m gonna fight for her. She loves me. She may have forgotten, but deep down she knows. What we have... it’s always. She and I... We’re always.”

Eva is pretty resistant at first, but come on... it’s Cage York. What woman could resist him for long? He just has to remind her what they had. What they can have again.
“Make no mistake. There will always be an us. You can pretend like what we has never happened. You can ignore your feelings. Hell, baby, . But there will always be an us. No one and nothing can change that.”

Will Eva be able to move on with Cage? To trust him again? Forgive him? Or do some hurts really go too deep...

 photo 8ce4e539-6a14-4cdd-a161-c33324c5d5e1_zpsf8461619.jpg
“I love you so much. I never stopped.”

“You’re my world.”

I LOVE CAGE YORK!!! I’ve read every one of Abbi Gline's books, and Cage is my favorite of Abbi’s boys (Woods being a close second). Cage did not disappoint. He was as sexy, hot, sweet and amazing as ever. Cage and Eva have some wonderful chemistry. In and out of the bedroom (or car, or barn... lol) Their were some great scorching hot scenes between Eva and Cage. I just love his dirty mouth. Cage York is just the best. Eva, well she’s pretty great too. She frustrated me at times, as I said, but it was hard to stay upset with her. She didn’t always make the best decisions, but she was going through something big and has so much on her plate, it was understandable.

I really enjoyed this book... maybe not quite as much as the first, but it was close! The reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars like I did ‘While it Lasts’? One of the main reasons is the length. The book was rather expensive, which is fine. Abbi is one of those authors I will gladly shell out $9 or $10 for an ebook for. I’ve loved everyone of her books, so its okay with me. But, it was rather short. As much as I absolutely adored the ending, I felt a little gipped. I REALLY wanted a longer epilogue. I think if there were a few extra chapters, and the epilogue was a little longer, it would have gotten 5 from me.

When it all comes down to it, I still loved the book. I love Cage and I love Abbi’s writing. Can’t wait to read the next book in the Sea Breeze series (Jason Stone)

4 CAGE STARS!!!!!

“Mine,” Cage mumbled in his sleep pulling me closer to him. Even in his sleep he knew what I needed. I kissed his chin and smiled. “Yes, I’m yours.”

Sigh…I can’t get enough of Cage. Ms. Glines, you could write 10 books about Cage, and I would love all of them!

My Cage – He’s a bad boy, and you KNOW how much I love a bad boy! Oh yeah, and he has a dirty mouth. Yum! a swagger and a naughty mouth

My Eva: - I love Eva. She is on the serious side, but she does have some shit happen in her life, and she has the type of personality to be independent and take care of others without taking care of herself first. This is a good character trait….but Cage is THE ONE to break through her walls every time!

Eva

Cage and Eva go through some tests in their relationship in this book. Eva’s father gets sick, so she has to stay behind to take care of him, while Cage pursues his career in baseball. There is an automatic stress on their relationship by trying to do the long-distance thing. A few more things happen that I don’t want to spoil for you, and they don’t really matter because I knew they would end up together in the end. The storyline in this book is not the most unique, but it doesn’t matter, and you know why?? BECAUSE ABBI GLINES WROTE IT. That’s why. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, she could write about a dust bunny, and I would love it!

I will never, and I mean fucking never regret choosing you. Nothing is more important than you, Eva Brooks. Nothing.

I did a lot of this while reading this book….

This is the sequel to While It Lasts, so read that one first!!!

My favorite in this series is still Just For Now, because Preston is my man!!!!

Ms. Glines,

Can I please please please have a Jeremy book???

3.75-ish stars for the holy hotness that is Cage York!!

I originally rated it a solid 4 but after thinking about it and sleeping on it, I decided to give it a 3.75-ish stars only because of Cage. In a way, this book was okay but it's nowhere near the first book, While It Lasts, story-wise.

"No else for me ever. You're it. you're my always."

Sometimes It Lasts starts off with Cage finally getting a full baseball scholarship at a college in Tennessee. The plan was for Eva to join him there. Unfortunately, Eva's father got sick and although Cage doesn't want to go without her, he must, in order to secure their future.

Right there and then, I was like, "Uh-oh." I know something bad was going to happen, and what eventually happened didn't come as a surprise at all. Of course, the Prologue pretty much killed, so I know, I was definitely in for a ride.

The premise, I thought, was great. I was excited to see how Cage and Eva would handle being apart especially when Jeremy entered the picture again. The execution was just okay. It was expected and I enjoyed it. I thought the conflict was going to be dragged out but it wasn't, so I was happy. I hate needless angst. I was happy that that particular conflict wasn't the focus of the book, fortunately.

Unfortunately, Eva started bugging me. I liked her in the first book but I thought she was just, meh, on this one. I still liked her naughty side but I was put off by her constant reference of Josh, her dead boyfriend, as being the one she loved and lost, the boy who loved her unconditionally, yada, yada, yada. I get it. Really. No need to rub it in.

"Make no mistake. There will always be an us. You can pretend like what we had never happened. You can ignore your feelings. Hell, baby, you can even marry ***** fucking Beasly. But there will always be an us. No one and nothing can change that."

Thank goodness for Cage York! I think he's the best among Abbi Glines' heroes. I already thought he was hot in the first book and I didn't think it was possible for him to get any hotter but he did. Holy hell, did he ever. He's more grown up here but he hasn't lost his cheekiness and his dirty mouth. Thank god! I just loved how he handled the situation with Eva. Cage York is truly "the man" in this story.

Another standout for me is Cage and Eva's chemistry. Abbi Glines sure knows how to write them steamy scenes. This book sizzled from beginning to end. There were plenty of steamy scenes but it didn't really overpower the book, which was wonderful. That barn scene after two weeks of being apart was ==> scorching. I thought my Kindle was going to spontaneously combust.

So why give this only a 3.75-ish rating?

Well...I don't know how to put this delicately but here goes...

For one, the editing in this book sucked. I'm not even kidding. Considering that this was published under a well-known publishing house, I was appalled by the number of errors that I noticed. I thought they uploaded the unedited draft or something and not the finished book. I thought it was just me until a GR friend also pointed it out. I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to errors unless it becomes too much that it takes away my enjoyment for the book. The errors in this book, I feel, were substantial enough that it did bother me.

Second reason. In principle, I don't usually spend more than $6 on an ebook but there are a few authors out there that are an exception to this rule for me, and Abbi Glines was one of them. So after shelling out $9.99 for this ebook, I was expecting something a bit more polished but editing wise, this was just, in my opinion, sloppy. And remember folks, this was published under Simon and Schuster not some fly by night publishing house. I mean, really?

The final verdict?

Unless Ms. Glines' publisher re-edit this one, wait until this goes on sale. Or you can order the paperback for a dollar less or better yet, just wait for the library copy. I'm sending mine back to Amazon with a little note to the publisher.

My Cage and Eva...

*Revised review*

Before I read the book---->This short review is not based on the book cause I haven't read it due to the ridiculously price the publishers deem it's worth. I'll write my full review once the price has dropped significantly.

My final little review and little bit of rant...

A friend loaned me the book after my rant on how much the book cost and how I wasn't willing to spend $8.98 for not even a 175 page book. While I enjoyed the story and was somewhat happy with it and seeing what's going on with Cage and Eva(my fave from the series), I just can't get pass the pricing of the book. I emailed Simon&Schuster and asked them why they think that this story is worth the price. As of yet, I haven't received a response nor do I think I will and that has been almost a month. You might say what does this have to do with the story?, this is not a review!, blah, blah, blah...it's my rant.

Abbi has always been a hit or miss for me with her books. Some can be good, some can be really good and some not so good. Will I continue to read her work. Of course, but only when the price of her books are reduced. Sorry to say but that's how it is for me.

“Make no mistake. There will always be an us. You can pretend like what we had never happened. You can ignore your feelings. Hell, baby, you can even marry Jeremy f*cking Beasley. But there will always be an us. No one and nothing can change that.”

There are sequels and then there are PERFECT sequels, and this is as perfect as a continuation of a favourite story can get. In While It Lasts, we fell in love with Cage York, a bad boy sent to work on a farm during summer because of a DUI, who met his match in one fierce and no-nonsense farmer’s daughter named Eva Brooks. We watched them flirt, fight their attraction, and eventually succumb to love. While at the end of that book we had left them in a good place, in this sequel, we watch them fight for that happy ending, through heartache and tragedy, but making it one heck of a roller-coaster ride that you won’t want to pause for one single second. Cage York is my new obsession and after you read this book, you’ll know why.
“No one else for me ever. You’re it. You’re my always.”

The story takes off where the first book ended, Cage and Eva are blissfully happy together and faced with their first big decision as a couple – whether to move interstate to attend a college that would offer Cage a full-ride scholarship and an opportunity to play college baseball, putting him one step closer to his dream of playing professionally. But smooth sailing quickly turns into choppy waters as Eva’s whole world comes crushing down when faced with her father’s sudden illness. Forced to stay back and look after her dad and the farm, Eva lets Cage go to college on his own, reluctantly but selflessly, knowing that holding him back would only take his dreams away.
“You gotta let that boy go, baby girl. He came here last summer because he had a plan. He had one chance to get the future he wants and even though he is a rascal he is a smart boy. He got what he wanted. But if you ask him to let it go he will. In a heartbeat. Don’t make him choose. Let him go. Make it okay for him to go take that dream he fought for. Do it ‘cause you love him.”

What starts as a temporary long-distance relationship soon turns into missed phone calls and unusual text messages, and one ugly breakup later, Eva and Cage are no longer together. Eva’s pain, coupled with the sorrow from watching her father slowly wither away, is tangible, soul-shattering. We watch her face a new reality in her life, bravely and with determination, regardless of the fact that her heart is breaking more and more each day. Cage is facing his own demons far away from the woman he loves. Eva’s parting words scarred him deeply, awakening the unwanted little boy in him whose own mother had called him her biggest mistake.
“Just like my momma had when she’d called me her biggest mistake, she’d meant it. How could I fight for someone who didn’t want me?”

They both stumble through their separation, heartbroken and lonely, until tragedy brings them back into each other’s lives and back on the farm where they fell in love. And this is where the story becomes a whole new ballgame, one of two people still loving one another heart and soul, their bodies aching for each other, their lives making more sense being together than apart, but not trusting their hearts to find their way back to each other. Cage fights for Eva, like a man on a mission, persistently and passionately. He misses her in his arms, he resents her for giving up on them so easily and rejecting his love so readily, but he also loves her more than anything else in his life and he cannot see his future without Eva in it. But actions are so much better than mere words and nothing warms my heart like a man proving his undying love by refusing to leave his woman’s side ever again.
“Being near you completes me. It makes me happy. I f*cked up and I lost you. I don’t expect to ever get you back. I don’t deserve you. But I want to be near you.”

As Eva’s resolve slowly crumbles down, we are reminded of the magic that made us fall in love with Cage and Eva in the first place, and why there is truly nothing like an Abbi Glines kind of happy ending. Brace yourselves because Ms Glines pulled out the big guns and gave these characters the send-off of a lifetime. Her books are getting more and more emotional with each new release and this instalment of the Sea Breeze series is no exception. Heart-wrenching, romantic, even sexier and steamier than the prequel and simply unputtable-down. Like I always say, pure Abbi Glines perfection.
“You’re mine, Eva Brooks. Always. You told me that yourself and, sweetheart, I’m holding you to it.”

You all know how much I love Abbi Glines and her equally romantic and sexy books, so it's kills me to say that the fifth book in the Sea Breeze series which featured my favorite couple ever, Cage and Eva, was unfortunately my least favorite Abbi Glines book. Ah, the hurt! I did enjoy Sometimes it Lasts tremendously and that's why I'm giving it 3.5 stars but looking at the bigger picture, I felt like this book added additional drama in Cage & Eva's life and it wasn't really needed. Have no doubt, Sometime It Lasts is much better than many contemporaries I've read but compared to Abbi Glines other books, I don't think this one in particular stood out.

Cage & Eva have been living a great, hot and happy life together after the struggles they went through in While It Lasts, but Eva's dad, Wilson not approving of Cage is really bothering Eva. When Cage receives a scholarship to an out of state University, naturally Eva plans to follow him there, but things happens and she ends up living with her dad at the farm. So basically, Cage and Eva goes in the long distance relationship period and like anyone would have expected, they fucked it up. Without going in the spoilery zone, I just want to mention that Cage was the disappointment in this book. I was not happy with his actions and his ridiculous excuses. I can't believe he didn't fight for Eva and gave it up like a baby. And I know a lot of other readers feel like Eva changed and became this weak girl who needed a guy in her life, but I disagree with that. Considering Eva's situation and surrounding, I don't blame her for anything. Heck, I would've acted the same way if not worst, but that doesn't mean that the person I love the most gets to stop being by my side when I need him the most. Cage was. .GAH!...I want to slap him so hard for how he acted. His behavior was inexcusable and I surely wouldn't have forgiven him so easily. The more I'm writing this review, the more pisssed I'm getting, so I'm going to stop mentioning Cage from now on.

The secondary characters were the best! Low is back and with a surprise that would make you go awe. I loved her and Marcus! They are so adorable together and I was so happy that we got an update on them. Plus, how can I forget the other single character that showed up and made me pray he gets a book of his own. That's right, I'm talking about Dewayne! The tattooed hottie with dreadlocks and a funny personality. Yes, Please! I would say that the side characters really enhanced the storyline and made it entertaining. If not, this would've been a really sappy read.

All in all, Sometimes It Lasts was a very addicting, heartbreaking and an emotional read. I wouldn't say it was all sad and frustrating, there were numerous scenes that made me swoon, blush and what not. But that's what Abbi is great at- bringing out the emotions and making the characters feel alive. I love that quality in her books and that's why I keep coming back for them. It's unfortunate that I wasn't impressed with this one, but fear not, I'm going to be pre-ordering Jason's book, Misbehaving, when it's available on Amazon and reading the day it comes out. As for recommending Sometimes It Lasts , it's really sad but I would suggest that if you were happy with how things ended in While It Lasts, then there is no need to read it's sequel. I don't think it added anything besides . If you're new to Abbi's work, then I would highly recommend starting with Too Far series, Perfection series and then Sea Breeze. Where this one is a light, sexy, romantic read, the other series I mentioned are full of angst, drama and hot alpha males. Ooh, Love!

3.75 Angsty Abbi stars :)

The continuation of Cage and Eva's story, following on the end of Just For Now. Eva and Cage are happily in love and making plans on starting a new life together in Tennessee, when tragedy strikes. Eva must remain in Alabama, and she makes Cage go off to college to fulfill his dreams without her. Over time, the distance takes its toll, and the two find themselves where they never thought they would be: apart.

This book was a sweet, yet angsty story. I know for many she is a favorite, but Ms. Glines is my choice guilty pleasure author. I normally wouldn't like a book like this, but something about how it's written sucks me in and keeps me reading when I normally. Is it the most original plot? No. Do I care? Not a bit. Abbi Glines could recycle the plot for Emma and I would still read it.

In most other reviews I've read about this book people have said they found this book unnecessary, and I disagree. Not everyone has a cut and dry happy ending. Life happens, shit happens and we all need to get our act together and pull through it and that's exactly what happened in this book. The circumstances may seem extreme but most relationships suffer hardship and Cage and Eva were not the exception.

The one thing I did not love about this book was the reconciliation. I feel Cage did a fair amount of groveling, but Eva didn't. She knew his emotional issues, and she used them against him when she was hurt. And then she never apologized. So I would have liked to see more groveling on her end.

I also think Jeremy deserves his own book if he doesn't have one already. Asap!

Some of my favorite quotes from the book:

"Because I can't live without you. However you allow me to have you is what I will take."

"It's time we start our always."

I really enjoyed catching up with the Sea Breeze gang! I love this series and each and every character in Sea Breeze, Alabama. On the flip side, this book just didn’t wow me like all the others. Still that Cage York is pretty fantastic!

description

There were a few typos, the price was high and the story was short (164 pages). However, on the positive side, Cage and Eva have alternating povs are still hot and steamy in and out of the barn and have another SWEET hea.

The reason why Cage and Eva’s relationship falls apart which led for the angst and heartbreak didn’t work for me at ALL.

The reactions of both main characters after the spoiler is thrown into the mix was completely believable for me. Cage’s insecurities and fears of abandonment were raw and real as well as Eva’s mood and emotions.

”I made a mistake. The biggest mistake of my life. I let my insecurities keep me from fighting for you."

I completely adored Eva and her father’s storyline and definitely related to their bond as well as her loss. Jeremy is still the loyal guy and I’m happy that Cage and Eva have a bright future.

As for the ending, I absolutely swooned over Cage at the piano!! Loved!!

The story itself is fabulous and just what you might expect from Cage York and his "always." They still share that off-the-charts sizzling chemistry and there was plenty of yummy romance and hot steamy sexual encounters. Plenty of angst and trials to overcome between Eva and Cage were also present in this sequel. Between Cage's move to Tennessee on a baseball scholarship and the tragedy Eva faces back home on the ranch, Abbi Glines has once again proven she can execute a captivating storyline. Jeremy once again stands by Eva's side offering her comfort and friendship and maybe more this time around as he has done so many times before. It was good to see old characters return in this one and especially share the happy event Low and Marcus experienced. All in all, the story itself wasn't a disappointment.

But along with the good, there was the annoying bad that I just can't let go unnoticed. The writing wasn't up to snuff and there were numerous grammatical errors and typos. No question this book demanded some editing and it didn't get it. At the price of $8.89, this book should have been flawless.

OH GOD... THAT WAS F*CKINGLY AWESOME, BRILLIANTLY FANTASTIC, FREAKIN' HAWT AND BONE-MELTINGLY SWEET ALL ROLLED INTO ONE!!!!!!!

I will write my proper review once i get home from work - because the words that i have to describe Cage are not fit for my colleagues eyes (What? They all think i'm a sweet angel! LMAO!!!) *WAGGLES EYESBROWS*.

Just some thoughts in the meantime; i wasn't sure where Abbi was going to go with this story... i really didn't want Cage and Eva (but really i was thinkin' about Cage ;)) to go through anymore crap than they already had, but i gotta say this story BLEW MY EFFIN' SOCKS OFF!!!

And Cage... OMG... The man is SEX-ON-A -STICK TO THE POWER OF INFINITY!!!!! I REALLY NEED ME A CAGE!!!!! &%$#@**&@#%^&**^%^$#$#@^*&^%#@^&*#@@&((!& <--- Those are those dirty words that i want to type but can't really right now!!!

LOVED LOVED LOVED IT and i really hope that Jeremy gets his own story AND i CANNOT WAIT for Jason's story too!!! WOO HOO!!!

PS. Abbi, you NEVER FAIL to write the HOTTEST SEX SCENES and when they feature a SEXY AS F*CK, BAD BOY like Cage York, it sends those scenes into a whole 'nother stratosphere!!!!

• Who would have thought I would end up being such a fan of Cage? I called him a delusional manwhore after the second book (and I stand by that observation) but he's come a long way.

• He was a victim of circumstance and he and Eva both suffered for it.

• But at the same time, him getting worked up because Eva didn't trust him made me roll my eyes. What was she supposed to think when there was PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE? Most people's first thought is not: "oh, this was probably an elaborate set-up!"

• The Jeremy and Eva engagement was ridiculous. Both him asking and her accepting. I mean, it was obvious that was never going to happen.

• I loved the way Cage showed back up at the farm and just started working. He showed her he was there to stay.

• What is it with Abbi and "J" names? In the first five books there have been Jax, Jason, Jess, Josh, Jeremy... time to pick another letter, Abbi.

• This was actually a solid entry in the series and I really loved the evolution of Cage + Eva's relationship.

I knew Cage York was good man, and this book right here proves it! He happens to be my second favourite sea breeze boy with preston leading in first place!

CAGE:
After waiting for his big break, bad boy Cage York is finally called up to prove his worth in the college baseball arena..This full-ride scholarship will secure his and Eva's future together..

The day arrives when Eva has to talk to her dad about moving to Tennessee State alongside Cage, and with the hope that he'll help support her, she learns of her dad's illness..

Somehow she needs to convince Cage to go ahead of her to chase his dreams whilst she stays behind..

EVA:
Having to be apart from Cage whilst he chased his dreams and she stayed behind with her daddy was a risk she had to take, but there was that niggling fear in the back of her mind that she could end up losing him..Cage will always own her heart..He is her world, her everything..

Read what happens whilst they are apart, Cage in Tennessee and Eva on the farm spending time with her dad, and the strain it put on their relationship..

A steamy hot quick read, the bad boy gone good Cage is pretty whipped in this book but you can't help but fall in love with him all over again..He's gone from his bad boy past to something stable and strong, only with Eva by his side, without her he's half a man..

I also loved how we were brought up to date with past characters, and their lives now..Definitely a series worth reading!!

About the cover - wasn't Eva a blonde?! EDIT: As Allison pointed out in her commentary Eva is not a blonde! It doesn't matter nor does it influence anything in my review but it's good to have the right facts about the appearance of the characters.

Setting: Fantasy Land. In this land idiocy is a prized possession. Every individual strives to have it but it's easily and freely given. The author is very generous in that way! What's the inspiration for this kind of story?? The minds and the actions of these characters are impulsive, void of any sign of intelligence and of any common sense, lost in their own shallow world. Actually this is not a story - a real story would involve a lot of work, like good shaped characters, a very well thought plot... - this is a mess of tired cringe worthy ideas.
I could not willingly waste my time and read everything. No point in ruining my mood. I thought that with the time writers should get better in improving their style. I know now that I won't look twice when Mrs. Glines will release another book. They just don't work for me!

Oh, man, the hurt. The hearteater hurt. It was almost too much if it wasn't because I had faith on Abbi I'd give it up. «Eva, I want my always.» asdfghjkl, boy. Now I want Jeremy to have his own book. See? that's the thing with Abbi: she makes you love her characters big time. Baby Eli :'33 Low and Cage finally have a family.

Abbi, you always know how to make a hot and full of drama book.

I want a boyfriend like Cage: sexy, sweet, with a dirty mouth, baseball player… although I don’t like that he be so possessive.

Eva was strong considering her situation. She frustrated me at times but it was hard to stay upset with her.

And I love Jeremy, he's a good friend to Eva.

TEASER:

****** Another Teaser ******
The door opened and in she walked as if I’d summoned her with my desperation. Her long dark hair was loose and wind blown curling around her shoulders. The shorts she was wearing had once been a pair of her favorite jeans. She’d cut them off and although she looked f*cking amazing in them she had cut them way too short. The snug fitting shirt she had on she’d bought to wear to my games this past year. It had my number on it.
Dewayne let out a low whistle. “Damn, York, when you decide to f*cking settle down you sure pick some prime choice.”
“Don’t. Finish. That. Thought,” I cut him off before he could completely piss me off. If Dewayne was looking so was every other male in the damn bar. I jumped up and went to get what was mine.
“Go get her,” Preston called out with a hoot of laughter. Stupid shit knew what it felt like to have your girl looked at. He dealt with that about as well as I did. He was just an ass when he wanted to be.
“Hey,” Eva’s eyes lit up when she saw me coming through the crowd to get her.
I didn’t reply. I needed her first. Pulling her against me I licked her bottom lip before I slid my tongue into her mouth hungrily. I’d missed her taste today. She’d been gone too long. Giggling Eva pulled back before I completely forgot where we were and smiled up at me.
“I missed you too,” she said.

Whew! Roller coaster of a ride this was! Abbi pretty much makes a comeback (even though she was never really gone) with a another great instalment to the Sea Breeze series. It felt awesome to get back in Sea Breeze with Cage and all the gang.

When you read While It Lasts, you think, aw way! Happy ending for Cage and Eva...little did we know...Abbi had this little beaut up her gorgeous Alabama sleeve! BOOM out pops Sometimes It Lasts like a little book baby!

Sometimes It Lasts was a great addition to the Sea Breeze family. With familiar characters, sexy males and kick ass females. We come back to some sad stuff for Cage and Eva, some hard decisions both have to make if they are to have a future. I was pretty hooked from page one as I always am with one of Abbi's books. Sometimes It Lasts was an extreme roller coaster or so many emotions. There is so much love, so much betrayal, so much loss it really cuts you deeply if you're already so invested in this series or just in general Cage and Eva.

I find Abbi always writes wonderfully, and although I did only give this 4 stars, mostly just because I thought it was a little predictable in places, and it didn't feel the same. None the less, as much as I felt it predictable, I also felt it to be a great addition, and it really felt great to be back in the Sea Breeze story with these two.

If you still haven't picked up any of Abbi's books, I'd recommend starting with the Sea Breeze series first, and then move to her Fallen Too Far (Rosemary Beach) series after that. I never seem to be disappointed with Abbi or her books and Sometimes It Lasts just proves me right. Yay!

This book fell flat for me.
Which makes me kinda sad, cause I really wanted to LOVE every page.
Cause who doesn't love a good dose of Cage York?
Especially after While It Last?

It started strong -- the prologue kicked ass. So many emotions. It had some twist in the beginning, which I don't always like, but it hooked me in quick!

And I enjoyed the last 20% a lot.

But the middle was just kinda blah, repetitive, and frustrated me A LOT.

The prologue set the stage for some major twist and turns. But the flow and the following angst just didn't work for me. And the fact the character kept repeating over and over and over why they were angry. It dulled the angst even more. But what bothered me the most, was how LONG they actually stayed mad at each other. I just wanted to shake both of them.

I can't rant too much though, because the ending was SOO good. And the ending reminded my why I love Abbi Glines books so much. And that's why I bumped the ranting to three stars.

That, and the fact that we got glimpses of our favorite characters. Seeing Preston interact with his family was probably one of my favorite parts.

For those curious about the romance: There was some seriously steamy scenes. Abbi Glines knows how to write 'em -- especially Cage style.

HEA?

But mostly I'm curious as to when:

Sorry that aren't any more stars to give...I loved Cage all over again...

This book made me cry, laugh, get pissed, grieve, love and general made me feel it..

You have to read While It Lasts first(as this one is its sequel) if not even Because of Low so you can see all of Cage York transformation from a player who messes around to the guy in the end of this book...I only hope there are more glimpses of him and Eva in the next books of the series....

My favorite book boyfriend of the series so far and I don't think this would change easy...

I enjoyed this book so much!! I love Abbi Glines as it is so this just boosts my love for her books even more. I loved Cage and Eva. They were so perfect together. The ending and epilogue, PERFECT!

On another note, I wonder if Jeremy will get his own book, I'd definitely read it! So if anybody can put a bug in Abbi's ear, I'm all for it!

I was doubting to give this one 4 or 5 stars.. It wasn't as gripping as the first cage and Eva book but
1) it's cage!!!
2) I actually had to cry. Like real tears rolling over my cheeks! I blame it on "it's that time of the month" tho
3) it's CAGE!!!

So hell, 5 stars.

Seeing some of the reviews for this book I was worried about it. However, this was actually better than I was expecting. Sure they didn't need another book but it was still nice. Especially since we got updates about all the other couples.

Joint review from The Romance Cover

Reviewed by Willow (3 Stars) & Donna (3.5 Stars)

Willow: I loved while it Lasts, Eva and Cage's story was my favourite Sea Breeze book, so I was really looking forward to reading their second book, Sometimes it Lasts, unfortunately I was very disappointed. The beginning had my blood pumping a bit, and I wanted to know what had happened to them to be in that situation, but it quickly went down hill from there. Donna what did you think?

Donna: I thought exactly the same, whilst the prologue got you thinking I was trying to process it at the same time. Cage was devoted to Eva as was Eva to Cage and I just couldn't see them getting into that situation especially with what she was wearing on her finger!!

Willow: We then jump back to the past so we can see the events leading up to the prologue, it started ok, and I was happy to see life moving on for these two, but that didn't last long, pretty quickly their life changed course because Eva's dad became sick. From then on I felt Cage and Eva were acting differently, out of character.

Donna: I thought so too, whilst Abbi tries to justify their actions it just didn't sit well with me, it was not something I saw either of them doing. Also, I could see this plot coming a mile away, very early on in the book I had more or less the whole book plotted before it happened. It sort of took away my enjoyment of the book.

Willow: Completely agree, like you say Abbi did try to justify their actions, but I still don't believe they'd do that. You did make me laugh when you messaged me after only being a short way into the book asking if you had the plot right, because you were spot on. My biggest issue is that no matter his past, Cage would have fought, he wouldn't have backed off. I hate to say it because I've loved Abbi's other sea breeze books, but this one was lacking for me.

Donna: I agree, I felt that it was rushed and there were a few errors, this is not normally what I would expect from Abbi. Normally they don't bother me at all but it was just unusual for this author. As you say Cage would never have given up, he would have fought tooth and nail for her and he certainly would have at least tried to explain himself and knowing Eva she would have let him.

Willow: This book didn't excite me at all, I just didn't get how differently the characters seemed. 3 stars from me.

Donna: I will go with 3.5, I did enjoy it as I always do with Abbi Glines but I didn't love it and was a tad disappointed.
