I wouldn't recommend the entirety of this book to a new Sanderson reader though. Most of the stories require the reader to have already read multiple Sanderson series to fully understand, and some contain massive spoilers. Luckily each of the stories that contain spoilers have a spoiler warning on the title page.

I would recommend picking up The Emperors Soul by itself, then pick up Mistborn, once you're a hardcore Sanderson fan come back to this collection.(less)

After Book 2, Brandon S suggested to then read Edgedancer sooo.. I bought this whole book, read just Edgedancer and now am moving to Book 3. This works wonderfully well. Stories have spoilers so don't read this first, just keep it nearby to read with other books. I loved Edgedancer. Loved!(less)

Each story comes with a warning if it has spoilers, so as long as you're paying attention you can read parts of this book safely (including some of the best stories in the collection IMO). That being said, here's a full answer to your question:

You need to have read:
1. Mistborn, both the original trilogy and and the Alloy of Law era up through Bands of Mourning.
2. The Stormlight Archive, both available books.
3. Elantris

I guess technically the White Sand excerpt will spoil the first bit of the White Sand graphic novel, but that's just because they're telling the exact same story. I don't think reading order matters here.(less)

A blurb has famously been defined as "a noise a publisher makes". Blurbs are not GoodReads-written and barring extraordinary circumstances (libel, maybe?) I wouldn't expect them to be GoodReads-edited. (Series descriptions, authors's pages, etc., are different cases.)

The blurbs at https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... and a few other editions already include that story title, but those for most editions reproduce what the publishers put out at the time of pre-publication when they didn't have a title yet.(less)
