The summary is used not only on the book, but on Tor Books' page for it, the Amazon listing, and the Barnes & Noble listing.

Since so many people have reported this, I truncated the original summary and replaced it with a summary/review from Publishers Weekly, which is both more detailed and (I believe) does not include the big spoiler.

Sheherazahde I have problems with the "game" as well. Not just that there is no real game play. But their are contradictory descriptions. If the game was tailored …moreI have problems with the "game" as well. Not just that there is no real game play. But their are contradictory descriptions. If the game was tailored to each player it should be a single player game with no interaction with other users. But he clearly states that he can tell when other characters are other users not just NPCs.

And there is no reason for it to be MUD. If the goal is to bring each player along to particular conclusion then it is better if they play with just NPCs.

Also, why does anyone think the culture of the people in the game is "superior" to human culture? I saw no evidence of cultural superiority in the game we saw. (less)
