Where did I miss something? In the first book, Hodge's bird was Hugo and now, on page 56 of City of Ashes he has become Hugin?

How are angels portrayed in the series? Do they have a big role? As a christian I feel a little uncomfortable reading a book that combines elements of my religion (I know it sounds a little over the top :) )
