Letitia, I'm so sorry I've nt answered this. I traveled to Sudan and saw what was happening with the people. I saw their faith and their bravery. I interviewed many Sudanese, those who worked for them, and many organizations helping them survive the chaos.

Phyllis, that's a tough question! It's like asking which one of my kids or grandkids are my favorite. I'd say whatever book is about to be released . . . like sending a child off to school for the first time.

Debbie, thanks. The ability to use my imagination and explore creativity. Building story worlds and characters who have much to lose and gain is an exciting challenge.

another tough question. I like them equally the same. Both are who I am.

Thanks, Kelly, I loved writing Fatal Strike. Let me think about a spin-off from the story. Leah and Jon may need another adventure.

I'm reading One Good Deed, and so far I haven't been offended, and it's a great story. I haven't read Absolute Power. Guess I won't read it after your review.

I read Absolute Power and was equally appalled at the part you described Sandy. I had read many of his other books before this one and they never contained that kind of violent sex. If I'm not mistaken Absolute Power was his first best seller. Thankfully he got away from graphic sex and got on with great military and political thrillers. I just finished The Camel Club- enjoyed it! The Amos Decker series is good too.

Thanks for your input, Jana. Perhaps I'll try reading him again. As I said, I did really enjoy other books of his.

If I'm involved in more than one book project, then it's in different stages: promotion stage, editing stage, or writing stage. I have written more than one at a time, but it's hard to stay focused.

Yes! I don't think I look the part of a suspense writer which makes it even more fun.

Hi Kelly, Writing various law enforcement books takes a lot of research and interviews. I attended a 7 week FBI Citizens Academy course and an 8 week ATF Citizens course. What I've found is law enforcement wants the public to see them in an accurate manner for community support to keep us safe. Fav book? That's like asking which one of my sons is my fav. I'd say whatever is the latest release - but High Treason holds a special spot! Thanks for writing to me.

That's a hard question, like asking which one of my kids or grandkids are my fav. But I will say High Treason has a huge chunk of my heart. Glad you liked it!

I started writing in 1996 when my husband said, "Stop telling me you are going to write a book someday. Do it now. Quit your job, and I give you one year to get anything published." I'm stubborn and took him up on the challenge. My first book was sold and many articles that year. Never went back to the other job. To date, with 75 traditionally published books and novellas, he is still my best cheerleader and my nightmare editor. :)

Hi, Douglas, The Chase and Firewall are stand-alone novels that feature Houston's FBI. Both are romantic suspense.
The Chase - Heroine is a writer who revisits a cold case, one that she's never forgotten. Seeking the FBI to help her with the details draws in danger and a hero who has better things to do than assisting a writer to stay safe. Based on a real cold case in Houston. Firewall dives into a woman led into marriage by deceit. She has powerful secrets that if revealed, devasting results can occur. Hero steps into the fire of beating the clock before one of them is killed. See more details here and view the trailer: https://diannmills.com/books/firewall/

While in South Sudan, researching a novel, several men surrounded the car I was in and attempted to nab the white woman from America. But I'd kept the door locked and my windows rolled up! My driver maneuvered the car until we were allowed to pass. What did those men want from me?

Hi, Betty, Deadly Encounter is the first book in the series. Trial by Fire is a romantic suspense novella that stands alone. Just a short intro into my style of writing. Does that help?
