Bomb craters above Greenock
The Greenock Blitz was in May 1941: NS2676 : Memorial for those killed in the Greenock air raids. Some of the bomb craters on the moors above the town may be the result of decoy fires that were deployed here during the Second World War; see Link (at Secret Scotland) for details. The control bunker for one of those decoy sites (NS2773 : Whitelees Moor - Bombing Decoy Control Bunker) can be seen at NS27567342; there were other decoys on these moors.
