SN4003 : Old RAF Buildings from WW2SN4003 : Disused RAF training facility and a SpitfireDome trainer. A very rare survivor of WW2 that was used to teach basic ground to air anti-aircraft gunnery. Inside a concrete hemisphere, gunners were schooled in simulated air attacks by projecting film of images of enemy aircraft onto the interior walls of the dome. The pupil would "fire" a mock ack ack gun at the aircraft images, whose accuracy was determined by stop-frame film technology and yellow lights that lit up on the interior of the dome. Once proficient, gunners would move onto real targets towed by aircraft.
