The relatively narrow Victoria Channel, which ships must follow when entering or leaving Belfast harbour is indicated by a series of numbered marker buoys and posts; starboard (green) markers carry odd numbers and port (red) markers carry even numbers. This is port hand marker number 2; it is a red pillar buoy with conical topmark at position 54°41.55’N, 005°46.43’W (LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) Sailing Almanac).
