Claymills Victorian Pumping Station - engineer at work
Bill, one of the site's volunteers and a retired engineer, is keeping a watchful eye on the side arm planer as it takes a cut from a cast iron damper plate that is being cut to size. In the left background is the Vernon & Guest of Smethwick steam engine that is driving the workshop by lineshafting and belts. The big black box on the wall is a steam trap that is draining the steam line to the engine.
