: Valley near Nethershaugh Farm by Tony Atkin Valley near Nethershaugh Farm
Typically rolling Devon countryside yet just to the right of this shot the land drops down very steeply into the deep valley of the River Plym.
: Lane above Bickleigh Vale by Derek Harper Lane above Bickleigh Vale
This lane near Hollowgreep runs along the edge of the wooded Plym valley, here called Bickleigh Vale. Brownsen's Wood drops away to the left.
: Path junction by jeff collins Path junction
Straight ahead through the gap in the hedge towards Harscombe, where the whisps of smoke are in the distance, right towards the River Plym and left towards Hollowgreep.
: Bickleigh Vale by Tony Atkin Bickleigh Vale
This shot looks down the steep wooded western slope of the Plym Valley and over Bickleigh Vale. The land on the far side of the valley floor is outside this grid square.
: Nethershaugh Farm by Derek Harper Nethershaugh Farm
Seen from the lane shown in SX5362 : Lane above Bickleigh Vale, on which it stands, and overlooking the Plym valley.
: Field access track, Nethershaugh Farm by Derek Harper Field access track, Nethershaugh Farm
With the lane to Hollowgreep dropping to the right. A muddy day.
: Path through Brownsen's Wood by jeff collins Path through Brownsen's Wood
The path climbs up through the wood towards Hollowgreep. I could go no further on this footpath because of timber operations and the path was closed for one day, so I turned around and headed towards the River Plym.
: Footbridge over the Plym by jeff collins Footbridge over the Plym
The path ahead goes on towards Brownsen's Wood and Hollowgreep.
: River Plym by jeff collins River Plym
Looking upstream as the river flows through Bickleigh Vale. From the permissive path to Shaugh Bridge. The river is starting to look more and more like a moorland river.
: Permissive Path to Shaugh Bridge by jeff collins Permissive Path to Shaugh Bridge
This is by far the best section of this path, it's mostly overgrown and completely missing in places, some of the small footbridges crossing streams etc are rotting away, totally uncared for! Or maybe that is deliberate. To the right... (more)
: Approaching Ham Bushes by jeff collins Approaching Ham Bushes
A large fenced area that seems to have been given over to rearing Pheasants. Owned by the Forestry Commission. From the permissive path to Shaugh Bridge.
