: Waterlogged field between Castle Eaton and Hannington Wick by Vieve Forward Waterlogged field between Castle Eaton and Hannington Wick
This arable field between Blackford Farm and Sycamore Tree Farm was waterlogged when I attempted to cross it via the bridleway: I had to abandon the attempt half way across for fear of being sucked into the Thames gravels.
: The Thames Path at Blackford Farm by David Purchase The Thames Path at Blackford Farm
Looking downstream, here for a short distance the Path is going north! In the adjacent field, and others nearby, the farmers are working hard to gather their hay as the forecast is rather damp for the next few days.
: Signpost on the Bridleway by Des Blenkinsopp Signpost on the Bridleway
I would guess most walkers cross SU1695 on the Thames Path along the north of the square, by the trees on the horizon. But the bridleway a bit to the south is an alternative. It looks fairly well used. Another path heads off southwards just here.
: Along the Bridleway by Des Blenkinsopp Along the Bridleway
Two paths cross SU1695. The Thames Path by the river and this one through the fields.
