Measuring the water level in Cundall Beck to provide data for localised flood warnings. The level when photographed was 0.1 metres. There will be minor flooding at 0.26 metres. The highest level recorded is about 2.5 metres.

One of several man made drainage channels in the low country between Norton le Clay and Cundall. All waters running into Cundall Beck and thence into the Swale.

This could be Cundall Beck, Dor Beck or simply 'drain' as is shown on current maps. However, the chilly waters are heading towards the Swale after draining the agricultural land around Dishforth and Norton le Clay.
