Summer vacation at last! Flo has been looking forward to spending his vacation with his dog Lassie for months. While his parents are on their way to Gran Canaria, Flo and Lassie travel with the housekeeper Gerhardt to South Tyrol to visit Flo's Aunt Cosima. Her foster children, Kleo and Henri, also have a faithful dog of their own named Pippa. Gerhardt stays at the Grand Hotel Sternberg, where he soon helps owner Bianca Sternberg. But a mysterious series of thefts has the area's residents worried: several dogs have recently been stolen. When the thieves break into Aunt Cosima's farm and kidnap Pippa, the children, with Lassie's active assistance, go on the hunt.
