Vickie Anderson (Dunaway), an independent insurance investigator is called in to recover the huge haul. She begins to examine the people who knew enough about the bank to have pulled the robbery and discovers Crown. She begins a tight watch on his every move and begins seeing him socially. - Critics' reviews

-
"A sad product of its times."
-
"The Norman Jewison film tells a crackerjack story, well-tooled, professionally crafted and fashioned with obvious meticulous care."
-
"It's no doubt dated now (...) but this heist movie starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway was considered pretty hot stuff back in 1968."
-
"It's worth noting that 30 years and dozens of caper films later, the closing twist isn't nearly as startling as it once was, but it still makes for an effective conclusion."
