About this series
Salvadoran cuisine is a style of cooking derived from the nation of El Salvador.
El Salvador is the smallest country in Central America and it is known for its volcanoes, black sand beaches, pre-Columbian ruins, and tropical forests.
This tiny country on the Pacific coast has made a rich contribution to Central American cooking. The cuisine of El Salvador is similar to that of its neighbors, with a strong reliance on indigenous foods like corn, beans, squash, and tomatoes.
The traditional cuisine consists of food from Native American cuisine, indigenous Lenca, Maya, Pipil and European Spanish peoples. Many of the dishes are made with maize (corn).
The influence of Mayan culture is quite strong, mixed in with contributions from the Spanish kitchen. Pupusas and curtido may be the most well known Salvadoran dishes, but other tasty dishes include pavo salvadoreño, atol de elote, quesadilla and semita.
This ebook is packed with the most traditional and typical Salvadoran recipes. This Salvadorian Cookbook contains over 240 authentic Chilean recipes, which will bring to your table some of the best and the tastiest dishes from the authentic Salvadorian cuisine.
