Author’s Preface Note
This fictional children’s story is a meditation and catechesis on the human tragedy and Divine miracle of Easter. Therefore, any theological mistakes in the text, namely, material not in conformity with the teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, are due to my own inabilities to transmit the tenets of the Faith. The facts for the depicted dramatic events are found in the Bible and are further explained in a variety of places, including the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
In relating the events leading up to Easter Sunday, one cannot escape the graphic nature of the torture, suffering and killing of a human being, much less of God. Keeping in mind the intended younger audience for this story, I’ve tried to strike a balance between accurately presenting the factual events (while not downplaying their theological significance) and depicting those scenes in an engaging drama for young readers’ imaginations. I pray I did not stray too far from either goal.
The issue of capitalizing pronouns associated with Jesus’ divine nature was the topic of several conversations with my editor. I subsequently made the decision to not capitalize all
