    Too often people limit God by believing that He has only forgiven their sins and promised eternal life. That is act 1 of the Father’s gifts. God’s people have not been taught how to operate in His power. God planned for man to have dominion over the earth when He created Adam. He then had to send Jesus to restore His kids to Him.
    The Jew’s yearly atonement covered their sins. They were in right standing by believing. Same as us! God told them repeatedly, if you turn away from what you are doing and come to me you will be forgiven and blessed. They believed in the Messiah who would provide it “all” for them. Since Christ and the Cross, we now have a better agreement, the power of the Holy Spirit in us - a 24 hour a day access - that is ours to boldly use in life. We now have what God originally designed for our use.
    The truth is that eternal life is right now. The emphasis in the New Testament Gospel is on the word “life” and not on the word “eternal.” Life represents a vitality where all your needs and wants are met. We will always be somewhere: here, in heaven or on the new earth. This is eternity, right now, wherever you are. The life described in scripture is a “too good to be true” life.
    This book is about leading us to the life God wants us to have. To those who are willing and able to grasp the concepts laid out and will believe, great things will come to pass for you and countless others.

      I. INTRODUCTION

      J ESUS SAID THAT we are guaranteed to have trials and temptations on earth. In heaven there is neither. The apostles had spent three years of their lives following Jesus and they witnessed first-hand events from His perspective. Jesus was a man like you and me. He walked in the total confidence of God. Picture Him hiking through the mud, laying on His back in the tall grass, telling stories, and then laying hands on people and healing them. Imagine the love you feel being in His presence, forgetting all about the past, not worrying about the future, being caught up in the moment.

      Jesus brought heaven to earth. In what is known as The Lord’s Prayer, He told us to pray on earth as it is in heaven. It must be possible, or He would not have said it. Here is God, who became man and had given up His heavenly powers (Philippians 2:7–AMPC, John 17:5) so that He could be our role model for living in this world. If He had retained His position as strictly God and did not become man, then we could use the excuse of, Yeah, but that was God (1 Peter 2:21).

      There are people whom we admire who have peace and tranquility and want to be around and emulate. Do we imitate Jesus?

      If you believe that the Bible is the true and inerrant Word of God, you agree that Jesus was tempted in every way that we are and sinned not (2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, 1 John 3:5, Isaiah 53:9, 1 Peter 1:18–19). Here is the problem: People believe that parts – but not all – scripture is true. Even though Jesus is a recorded person outside of the Bible by non-Christian historians, many of His followers believe that not all of scripture applies to today or they twist it with their thinking. To counter these opinions, we need to read the verses for ourselves, allow the Holy Spirit to teach us, apply the Word to our lives, and study or test it to show ourselves approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). People are saved and will go to heaven and at the same time, refuse to accept all the other benefits that He has provided. They sell themselves short because they know better.

      How did Jesus defeat colds, flus, and any sickness that came against Him? Illnesses do not discriminate. How did He touch the man full of leprosy without fear, and what did He do when He saw a beautiful woman strolling down the street and natural desires kicked in? Here is where the religious will shout, Blasphemy! He was a man with the God-given desires to reproduce. How did He not give into gossip just between friends? These points might offend some – after all, He was also God. The truth is that He could not have faced what man faces, and not have these natural experiences. If He were here as only God, it would have had little benefit to us in setting an example.

      Instead, He humbled Himself and became human to show us how to rely on God and His gifts.

      Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also (John 14:12)

      This verse shows us how far we are removed from Christ and His instructions to us. We are capable of being just like Jesus, the man, in all ways. He also stated:

      Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (John 5:19 – underline added)

      What was it that He did and had instructed us to do? He exercised authority over life in quality (John 2:10), distance (John 4:46–47), time (John 5:7), quantity (John 6:11–14), physical laws (John 6:19), misfortune (John 9:1), and death (John 11:13–14). He had authority over everything as a man. He told unclean spirits and evil what to do. He had life come upon Him as we do. He exercised His love for us.

      John the Baptist immersed people in water for the remission of their sins. Jesus had no sin. This authority Jesus used is a delegated one that He received when the Holy Spirit descended upon Him and was given, by God, so that He could do the works that He came here to do. The apostle John says that the Spirit stayed upon Him. This same Holy Spirit and use of God’s power is available to us (Acts 1:8).

      Scripture tells us that Jesus had to increase in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). He knew how people are. He did not appear having it altogether. He learned and continually grew as we do. We have not arrived where we want to be, but thank God we left where we were.

      Jesus guided and taught His disciples. They did not fully comprehend His teachings until after He died. He would leave soon and show them beforehand what they could and would do. At the cross He transferred this gift of authority back to man.

      Jesus was crucified. Christ’s works were finished! In the tomb they found the face cloth that He symbolically tossed down; the same as any carpenter would after waxing his completed project. We can only imagine the loss they felt. Here are some of His final words found in the Gospel of John:

      These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33 – underline added)

      Jesus was going to die. He spoke of it repeatedly before it came about, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies.

      Still, they did not understand. He knew they would feel afraid, hurt, abandoned, and lost. And Jesus, like any loving Father and friend gave His children direction when saying, Trials and temptations will come against you on earth. Do not worry and give up. Do not become anxious and afraid or allow the circumstances of life to overwhelm you and dictate how you live. It is especially important that you do not give up. Keep your eyes focused on me. Thanks for not giving up on me. I will be there always to love and guide you. You have the power to sustain or remove opposing forces – they have no power over you. They will try to block you. They came against me in all ways and they, too, will be against my children. I was your substitute and have already suffered for the not-so-good things you do or did. God, being just, will not convict and punish us both. He punished me, for you. You are more than a conqueror. Just as temptation begets sin, physical symptoms beget sickness, and followers of mine will be attacked. You will be pressured in many ways and even twisted until you think you did something wrong or caused it because of the heat. You might feel like I have left you. Some believe they are doing my will and end up doing more harm. I never told them to blow up clinics. At times, I do not like what my children do, but I am not going to leave them. They meant well. I know your heart. I will be blamed. There is no light in those behaviors. Spread my light, and darkness goes. If it is not good, it does not come from me or God, period. Neither did God or I allow or permit it. Keep it simple. God, the Holy Spirit, and I are good. You are good. Evil is from the other guy. Death and anything that leads to death, are enemies of mine and yours. You were not to experience a physical death on earth when I created you. Sickness, disease, poverty, and anything that comes from sin is against you and is also my adversary. I have already taken care of the sin issue and its effects! This is an absolute. When I return, death will be completely destroyed. I want you to succeed and I will always lift you up and find a way out, if you seek me and listen. I am for you, not against you. Do not get too busy. Take time to talk with me. Meditate on me. Quit mumbling to yourself about your problems. Have faith in me. Mumble on me. Think about me and the Word that you have of me. Keep it in your heart and in front of your eyes. And like Job, after his trials were done, did I not elevate him to a higher level. I will do the same for you. I always remember. I have a book of remembrance. And NO, it is not me who comes against my children. Our Father is a loving Father. The Holy Spirit and I are exactly like Him. I am telling you this now because even though my Words say to be of good cheer and that I have overcome the world (for us), some will think that I bring issues into your life to teach you rather than help. The enemy is not flesh and bones even if it appears to be. I am at peace with man on earth (Luke 2:4), and sins are not imputed to you (2 Corinthians 5:19). People will pervert my scripture with man’s limited thinking and philosophies. My ways and thoughts are higher than yours. Lamentations 3:33 says, I doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children
