There is a vast difference between my experience of load-shedding at 10am versus my experience of loadshedding at 2am… I don’t know about you, but many times when the power cuts in the middle of the night, it wakes me up. The thick darkness – coupled with the dead quietness of the night – is something I’m not used to. If I get up and go check on the kids, I need a source of light. So, I reach for where my phone usually lies and feel and grope until I can take hold of the source of light. Then I can turn on the light. As soon as that happens, the darkness that was so overwhelming just a moment ago, flees. You see, it is not dark due to the presence of darkness, it is dark due to the absence of light.

The world is spiritually and morally in a very dark place – and it seems to be getting darker by the day. What the Bible calls sin and evil, the world celebrates and calls good. Anyone who is brave enough to call out sin and say that it is wrong gets dubbed
