The Blessing and Losses We Share
()
About this ebook
We must be grateful for all we have, and all we have been given from our Lord, even if it is for a brief time.
The losses and blessings we share are the fabric of life. To love deeply is one of life’s most profound gifts, and the loss of a loved one is one of life’s most profound tragedies. Being happy doesn’t mean we won't experience grief or sadness. We must be grateful to Allah despite such loss, knowing that “ALLAH DOES NOT BURDEN A SOUL BEYOND THAT IT CAN BEAR” (2:286)
Nailah Abdus-Salaam
Nailah Abdus-Salaam is a Believer, Writer, Educator and a Poetess. I enjoy teaching as well writing. So after 34 years as an educator in the E.O. school district, she used her creative skills as both a teacher and a writer to start writing poems and articles and getting some of her works published. She worked with middle schools students to create and publish an anthology book on The African- American Experience In this Country entitled “THE LONG JOURNEY”. Most of her students participated and it was acknowledged and recognized with an award and plaque from the Superintendent of schools, as well as published in the local newspaper. I have previously written two other books that are published, and now this is my third book publication. “The BLESSINGS AND LOSSES WE SHARE”. This latest book as well as the other two books can be purchased online at Barnes & Noble and on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/ I’ve had articles featured in Essence, Azizah Magazine, & the Shahada Journal News. My poems are in several Anthologies of Poetry such as “BENEATH THE WINTER SKY” & THE STARS IN MY HEART” and several of my poems are published in the anthology “Scattered Petals”. My poetry was also published in Best Poets and Poems which featured poets and poems selected by the editors of World Poetry Movement. I am also a published author on Timbooktu & was selected as the TimBookTu Featured Writer/Poet for Spring in 2017. You can contact Ms. Abdus-Salaam via e-mail at [email protected]

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful
All praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, we seek His help, we seek His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and our evil deeds. Whoever Allah guides, there is none to misguide him. Whoever Allah leads astray, there is none to guide him. I testify there is no God but Allah alone, without any partners, and that Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is His servant and His messenger.
The truest word is the Book of Allah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The most evil matters are those that are newly invented, for every newly invented matter is an innovation. Every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Hellfire.
Actions are by Intention
Umar Ibn Al-Khattab relates that he heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, say, Verily actions are by intentions, and for every person is what he intended. So the one whose hijrah was to Allah and His Messenger, then his hijrah was to Allah and His Messenger. And the one whose hijrah was for the world to gain from it, or a woman to marry her, then his hijrah was to what he made hijrah for.
[Agreed upon]
