Death be not proud

TIME DOES NOT MAKE IT EASIER

THE above metaphoric sonnet was written by John Donne in the 1600s. It has much meaning as does the following one from the Bible book of 1st Corinthians: “Death where is thy sting?”

Both quotations openly challenge the subject of death as if it is a real-life character. No pun intended. However, death is a reality and not to be taken lightly or mocked.

This issue of death hit me hard in the solar plexus last week when my gracious father-in-law sadly shuffled off
