As a child part of this book was written while I sat in my closet with paper and pen. When I was in college the other part of the book, the journals writing developing occur. The characters and the story are all fiction base on my imagination as a child and a young adult. I have always had an imagination and I love to use my ability to be creative to tell stories. Hopefully, this short story will inspire someone to do the right thing, no matter how young or old he or she maybe. Never give up or give in to life circumstances. Just follow your heart and trust in GOD.

Life starts . . . .
It was another cool sunny summer morning in the suburban. As I woke up, I felt the breeze of cold morning air coming in my room window. I knew sooner or later my mom would be strolling in my room telling me about her and dad’s fight. She would tell me about how he had beat her up and she would start crying, the same routine every time. I don’t see why she wouldn’t leave him. She keeps telling me she’s in love with him. As I was getting dressed, I noticed there were some pretty yellow roses on my old wooden desk with purple balloons. I knew it wasn’t my birthday. I ran over to my desk and picked up the card. It was from Mike telling me he couldn’t make it on our date tonight and he would see me in two days. Quickly, I called out to my mother to come up to my room. She didn’t answer so I thought to myself, this is strange
. She usually comes up and Mike usually tells me where he is going. I put on my shoes and dash downstairs. There I saw mommy standing over the cream stove crying her heart out. She did not have to tell me what the problem was because I knew in my heart what had happened and I did not want to face what would be next . . . .
As I moved into the kitchen, my mother heard me and she tried to wipe away the tears with her favorite apron and hide her face with hair. I slowly moved closer to her and I tried to reach out to her, but she moved away. I could see it in her eyes that she was trying to think of something to say. She said softly, Did you get the yellow roses and balloons Mike left for you?
"Yes, I did, but
