INHERITANCE
GOD’S PROVIDENCE
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;
They have no hands to toil,
Yet they come out of their furrow
To be fed by the hands of God.
Because God is their constant supply,
The flowers and lilies have no time to cry.
This is how the love of God is portrayed
For those who trust in Him;
Wonderful things are prepared
For those who will cling to Him.
Although the lilies do not spin,
They show the beauty of Him who cares.
Think of the birds of the air,
How God supplies their daily meal;
None will be left in despair.
Can you stop to imagine God’s care for you?
It is a care that knows no bound;
Wonderful! God’s love for us is profound!
The lilies of the field are real evidence
Of God’s divine providence
For creatures great and small.
Therefore, let Him be your all in all.
Because our Heavenly Father clothes the grass
Of the field, we can depend on Him for our
Clothing, too. Also, think of the loving
Saviour Who died for us on the cross.
That alone is enough evidence of God’s providence for
His creation here on earth.
Consider again, I say, consider the lilies.
God is their sole supply from day to day.
Therefore, let us ask Him to fill our bellies
And trust in His promises from day to day.
THE FALL OF MAN
The fall of man in the Garden of Eden
Has brought us pain, sorrow, and woe,
And with our backs with sin laden,
But the Son of God came to pay our woe.
Because Adam marred the image of God,
The sentence of death was passed,
But when God gave His only Son, I was glad,
Because without such gift, life would be sad.
The felicity of Eden was lost,
And man – mortal man – could not pay the cost,
But when God promised the gift of salvation
I was glad for the proclamation.
Now I know what it takes
To restore lost humanity;
It takes the Holy One of Israel to die for my sake,
And with such great transaction I’m assured of eternity.
WHAT TOMORROW HOLDS
What tomorrow holds
No one really knows,
But one thing I do know –
There is one who helps us to sow …
There are things we’ll never understand
Even if we embark upon our grandstand.
Let us not forget that we’re finite being,
And that most of our plans are just a dream.
Notwithstanding, we make plans for the future,
That is why we order our furniture.
We always hope for the best
And plan to meet our guest.
Although we do not know about tomorrow,
We’ll not anticipate sorrow;
Let us be brave like a lion
And continue to play our clarion.
There’s an unseen Guest in our home
Telling us we’re not alone;
He is full of power and might
Because He is infinite.
The Lord holds tomorrow’s future,
And makes provision for His creature;
He knows the beginning of all things,
And the end of all things!
TAKE MY HAND THERE, LORD
Take my hand, dear Lord, and lead me on
In this world of toil and care;
Take my feet and guide them through;
Take my hand and lead me through
In this world of much care.
Lord, lead on and let me follow
Although the paths are very narrow.
I know that you’ll hold my hand
As I tread each day on dry land.
Take my hand and lead me through,
And let me be true,
Help me to be close to Thee,
For it’s my longing heart’s desire to be
In the company of the chosen few.
THE POET’S PEN
The poet’s pen is greater than him –
He uses it cursively
And he also uses it to write the name Kim.
And he uses it excessively!
