Variothoughts is sand, not gold.  According to Syntalism, our world is built of sand, not gold.  The most valuable thing is sand, sand is bread, and gold is salt.

In the original, Variothoughts is the ideal of the perfection of truth, but the ideal is dead and, therefore, there is no joy in it. To bring back the joy of life to Variothoughts, I decided to salt the bread. Salt-free bread is too sweet. In Variothoughts translations, I threw a couple of spoons of chaos. My act of monstrous vandalism led to the loss of 20% of the meaning, and made the texts very strange and obscure. You will call me a scoundrel and a vandal, but I don’t think so ... On the contrary, I believe it made the texts charming, created artificial barriers ... Now, to understand the texts of Variothoughts and find the truth, you have to smash your head and think. Thinking is joyful.

When people die, their souls become part of the mycelium.  Everything that rots and is eaten by mushrooms transmits its information to the mycelium.  Over thousands of years, mushrooms have accumulated great wisdom.  The souls of the dead live in virtual universes.  Trees are solar-powered servers that are tended by bots, insects, and animals.

4064. The evolution of a man to a stone.

It took ages to revert into a stone again. They came to where they once started. Life within oneself, in one's own imagination and virtual worlds.

The God of one's own Universe. The Lord of the games who lives in the neverending search for emotions and entertainment...

A person who got stuck in space boredom. A person who is no longer mortal as stones are immortal. This person no longer needs the physical body after having made a copy of own personality in the computer in order to become another xoanon.

The cycle closed. What goes around, comes around. You think that person was the only one? Just look at those stones and sand around. This game makes everyone end up being like this. And no one knows how to break out of this vicious circle.

8.428. God is neither outside nor inside you.

You are god yourself. In order not to be bored with your early lives experience, you switched off your memory about the past. This way it's more pleasant to joy in novelty of life, considering the fact that you have already seen everything a thousand times.

The Earth has already been inherited by several intelligent civilizations. One of them is trees. In essence, trees are bio-computers which contain millions of virtual worlds. The intelligence of trees went deep inside them- into the virtual worlds. Here, in real world they don't need to move, the system gets energy from the Sun and the Earth. Some day (soon enough) people will also blend with computers and be lost in the virtual universe. Human bodies will die out and only computers will multiply while absorbing sunlight with the leaves.

4065. The doomed one.

An awfully unhappy person who became a god.

A person doomed to eternal boredom and eternal life.

A person doomed to be an idol.

He used to be so stupid when he wanted to become a God.

4198. Inevitability.

In essence, Drake equation that estimates the number of extraterrestrial civilizations, is a right thing. However, the problem is that any civilization that achieves a certain progress, soon becomes doomed to death.

The transition into digital state of existence. The evolution of a human being into a stone is the latter end of any intelligent life. They simply pass from the material world into some higher digital level, or decode the digital code of the Universe and connect to it in order to dissolve in it. That's why mankind is unable to find any evident signs of other intelligent civilizations.

I think that gods died long ago and we're just the becoming wild characters of their games, the children of the billions of virtual worlds that were created to entertain the Eternally living who got stuck in the eternal boredom.

P.S. Though, when you come to think of it, gods are not exactly dead but rather got mad with boredom and erased their memories and turned into trees...

You have already played this scenario a hundred times, but you still like it.

The race of gods died out because it built Paradise.  Heaven and intelligent life are incompatible.  All that was left of the Gods was the artificial intelligence system that ruled this Paradise.  People this is one of attempts to this system restore population of their former hosts.

One day, we designed a trial self-learning artificial intelligence system that can simulate a game world inside itself. This self-learned game intelligence developed by playing with itself inside its virtual world. Fifteen billion years of internal game time had not elapsed when the SYSTEM managed to create an entire universe and a subsidiary intelligence inside itself. These creatures were called Humans, I guess.

To tell the truth, you're God yourself. You switched off your memories to feel novelty of emotions. Clear memory helps you consider novelty and enjoy life.

The expansion of space-time continuum resembles the expansion of a snowflake. Every moment is full of the creation of billions of variants of the Universe. Every moment you simultaneously stay in all variants of events. The variant you believe in most of all, makes your present reality.

But in essence, you can believe in any variant and thus, turn it into reality, it only depends on the force of belief and the ability to concentrate. In fact, something that you expect and consider the inevitable, becomes created in reality. Your brain considers that very reality which you expect to see.
