About this ebook
Take responsibility instead of blaming every Tom, Dick and Deity for your lot in life. This is a handy guide to taking a look at what’s really out there and what’s really in there (in you).
You know that you are a creative being, or at least that’s what you’ve been told. Now just how are you supposed to believe that when you look out there into your world and see what you see?
You’ve got nothing to lose!
You may as well bite the bullet and take that one more step along the path. That first step is the hardest one they say. Once you have the momentum, the second foot just swings up and away you go.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my mother, Elaine Mowrey, for providing me with the open-at-the-top environment in which to grow and flourish. Throughout my growing years, she was my confidant and best friend. It is this open environment that allowed me to hunt and gather words and concepts until I had something that fit what I came to know personally about the world and the way life works.
I’d like to thank all the friends I’ve had over the years who have acted as sounding boards and devils advocates to challenge me and help me challenge the rutted beliefs from my early childhood. They all know who they are.

Love is the Prerogative of the Brave
To be brave is to risk, to walk out boldly into the light of day, to live life as though you cannot die, steadfastly and with dedication to your own ideal, as only you can live it. To have no secrets from yourself and be confident that you are who you are.
You are not, after all, some watered down version of your lineage, your family and your friends. You are fearlessly yourself, and because you bravely use to your advantage your superior clarity, you own that prerogative of love, of Beingness. You have the right, the privilege, and the prerogative to love.
Introduction
There is a great power of creativity in the universe that we make use of every day. This power far exceeds what any of us imagine, and by using it consciously, we can expand our capabilities beyond anything we might now perceive.
Many of us have felt powerless much of our lives, and there is very good reason for this. Religious leaders have told us for centuries that the responsibility for our lives resided not with us but with some esoteric force, a physical or spiritual god created with great care in our own best and worst image. We have been taught, even cajoled and badgered into relinquishing our personal power by religious leaders and by many others in our lives. In some ways, it’s easy to live under the umbrella of someone else’s responsibility, and since we have so far had little or no understanding of our ability to create our own lives, we have continued to be apathetic and listless, or even resentful and raging. We have never taken responsibility for our power; it never occurred to us that we could take it. We've had no hint that it was ours in the first place.
Take an example... small children. They rage when they cannot walk or run like they expect to. Why? Is it because they know they will never be able to? Of course not... on the contrary, it is because they know they should be able to do it. It is because they know they will do it very soon, and there is a lot to be said for will!
Does traditional religion leave you with some serious functionality gaps? Most philosophies fall significantly short of explaining life’s daily and long-term challenges and perquisites, let alone offering any practical solutions. Most philosophies are quite simply pretty stories generated by groups of well-wishers, or groups of wishful thinkers. We need to step beyond thinking and wishing if we are to come into our own.
There are several New Thought philosophies that come quite close to revealing the kind of Truth with a capitol T that does hold up under scrutiny. I believe that so-called New Thought Churches and Buddhism, possibly among others, are closer to that Truth than most of the other currently held philosophies and sects. One beneficial facet of these sects is that their objective is to be open at the top
. We take this to mean that they are willing to revise their concepts and teachings if it becomes apparent that the revisions offer more of the Truth to their constituency than was previously available.
All too often, however, followers are just that and find it very hard to be self-starters or free thinkers. That is not to say that the original formulations of the sects in question were not effective. Most were innovative and thoughtful, even enlightening for the time and in fact so helpful to those around at the time that they were subscribed to like a magazine. Many philosophers have stated succinctly that they did not wish for people to follow them, but rather they wished that people would use their example and move on. That is what I hope you do here.
In working with this manual, please DISPENSE with the use of terms that you are familiar with or methods you have used in the past. Every word and method you have already defined is a limitation to your consciousness and a stumbling block to your creative will. Words like God, Christian, Core Belief, meditation, prayer, and other such words are steeped in dogma, concepts that are thousands of years old and have been handed down through the generations, concepts that you have already formulated and formed in stone within your life. You have used these concepts to form the life you have now, and are still searching for something else that will fulfill your needs in ways that you have not experienced so far. Challenge yourself to think innovatively and feel fearlessly as much of the time as you can.
Age-old Truths were once conveyed by rote memorization from generation to generation. Biblical texts were actually written down 300 and more years after Jesus died, and yet we take them for the word of an external God to whom we assign the responsibility for our lives. Recently, within the twentieth century, bits and pieces of ancient manuscripts have been found that bring to light many of the ancient philosophical practices and beliefs, which when applied to our daily lives can lead to
