      Prologue

      'Sweet dreams..' the black furred figure growled softly at the young woman he was watching from afar. 'We'll meet soon.'

      Emily was brushing her short black hair before going to bed when she got the feeling someone was watching her. She peered out into the darkness from her window, but apart from the dark fields and the few lost streetlights on the back roads there was nothing much to see. A dog barked and she shrugged off the feeling. She didn't expect there were men willing to sit out in the dark fields at the back of the house just to watch her brush her hair.

      She put down the brush, closed the blinds and took off her shirt and jeans, followed by her plain white bra. The sheets were cool and gave her goosebumps before she warmed them up with her own body warmth. Once again she thought about hooking up with someone so she could feel warmth for once in her bed, but the thought of the few eligible men she knew in the small town put her off.

      They all had a flaw that she knew would irritate her soon enough to break up with them. Her mother called her picky, but she just knew the man in her life had to be warm and caring, to be able to tell her he needed her as much as she needed him. He didn't need to be really handsome or wealthy, just be able to touch her soul.

      She didn't expect to find one out here in the country, living a bit secluded since she inherited the house from her late grandmother, but she never had a real urge to look for a boyfriend either.

      With a deep sigh and the thought she'd just grow old alone she clutched a pillow to her chest and tried to fall asleep.

      Chapter 01

      When Emily woke up she remembered parts of her dream. In it she was surrounded by puppies and happily playing with them. She smiled sleepily and told herself to write
