About this ebook

This is a collection of intimate poems, written by the author of The Atheist Bible. They were intended as a study in constrained free-verse associative thought, and of course they grew. Cycling, diving, life ... explored in four lines.

These works were written between 2009 and 2012 in Victoria, B.C., Canada.

    Foreword

Surrounded by Gods, the Atheist Speaks was originally published as My-Ku, a variation of its working title Mike-u, but I decided to change the name when I learned of a site created and run by poets who had already coined the term. To add insult to injury, they used the term to describe short, four line poems. Great minds and all that, right? Years later I am happy with my decision, as the new title better reflects my aspirations for this work.

This new 2015 edition was created with the goal of improving the layout and mood, as well as prepare it for publication as a paperback. The addition of ink drawings was an element I had wanted to include in the original work, but my software skills were not up
