Excerpts from the book:
About Choice
"We do not always choose
what happens to us
but we all have a choice
on how we react when
something happens to us."
All I Am
"I can live,
my whole life,
in fear,
of who I am,
or I can go out
and be all I am."
Knowing God
"Knowing God
changes us,
if the change is not
for the better,
for the good,
then we, in fact,
do not know God,
but merely the selfish
desires of our own
wanting hearts."
Fell
"From glory's heights
and so we fell,
straight down to
the depths of hell.
Our destruction's
coming well-nigh,
but for salvation sent
from on high.
As fell beasts
our time we spent,
by our own hands
our souls we bent.
True innocence
yet for us to find,
in the sacred reach
of our inner-child."
Footprint
"Expansion,
development,
so the human footprint
continues to grow.
To what extent,
to what end,
I cannot tell,
I do not know."
Enemy Within
"You are your own
worst enemy,
you are the one
you must defeat.
You may lose the battle
many a time,
at best win a few,
but the war is long fought
with victory still in sight."

A View of the World (Thoughts Discovered - S. Tarr
Preface
I again find myself in a coffee shop, writing this. What attracts me to a place like this is, perhaps, the buzz and the atmosphere of the people, giving my work another sense of meaning and significance, that it is not an isolated matter, in that I draw motivation not only from within myself but also from others as they move and go about their ways.
And with that sentiment it is fitting that the title, of this volume of Thoughts Discovered, is A View of the World. As such, this volume, along with the previous volume, Wisdom for This Age, deals with how I experience the world and how we interact with each other and the world around us, whereas the last two volumes are more outward looking in their approach, reflecting on the wonders of life and the profoundness of existence.
Now, whenever a personal opinion is voiced, especially to the wider public, there will always be someone with a completely opposite view to yours, or someone who just does not like your particular view on things. In writing and publishing this volume I am well aware of this fact and I sincerely hope that my perspective will be understood within its poetic context and, even better, accepted as a viable point of view, even if it is not agreed with entirely.
* Perhaps we shall meet one day and discuss these thoughts over a fine brew and share those thoughts that you too have discovered.

The Meaning of Life
I often ponder
the meaning of life.
My thoughts are split apart
into many pieces
but they all
