      Introduction

      In front of the Royal Palace of Naples in Plebiscito square , in correspondence with the closed arcs are inserted eight statues depicting the founders or the most illustrious rulers of the dynasties that reigned in Naples .

      From left to right are: Roger the Norman , Frederick II , Charles I of Anjou, Alfonso I of Aragon, Charles V, Charles III of Bourbon, Joachim Murat , Victor Emmanuel

      1 Francis II of Bourbon

      King of the Two Sicilies. (Naples 1836 - Arco 1894). At twenty-three he married Maria Sophia of Bavaria and May 22, 1859 came to the throne. After the conquest of the kingdom by Garibaldi took refuge in Rome. In 1870 he settled in Paris.

      With a brisk pace , making sure that the wind does not ruin my long hair and well-groomed , I start to an unusual encounter ...

      I do not know why the hell I was chosen .

      Knock, knock .

      I knock at the door several times

      The wind gives me no respite , and they are always out the door.

      Finally someone . The door opens .

      You will see a man with a bushy beard and a face that inspires me not to trust anything . She recognizes me and beckoned me to enter.

      The same tells me that the King is located on the first floor , and show me the way to go .

      I climb the stairs with difficulty of Carrara marble . I take a breath and go into a large room.

      The king comes to me with a gallant and invites me to sit on a chair very ... regal .

      I'm in an elegant building in the house of Rome by His Majesty Francis II , King of Naples.

      So what! How is it going to Naples? Who is in charge? A partisan or Savoy ? I asked the king with a smile and those mustaches that make so much tenderness .

      I wanted to say that since he left Naples, many things have changed. I limited myself to just say that there was a stable government .

      Francis II did not reply . He wanted to ask of Maradona , the happy days of the championship , but he did not.

      He smiled .

      His eyes were gentle and resigned . Maybe it was came to power too soon or had not had a minister with balls.

      It happens .

      The king waited anxious that were a placing of questions about the loss of the kingdom of the Two Sicilies , to tell her about what had happened.

      Your Majesty , what do you think of Garibaldi?

      Francis II looks at me straight in the eye as if to say, and that has to do Don Peppino in all this? Then he turns his gaze to the window ... and gives a look out. Cries. It ' moved but recovers quickly .

      Peppino ? A lucky man. He had everything on his side. Won a game impossible. You know, like those football games, where a super team favorite , having made a deck like this, with shots on goal, crosses , miraculous saves of the goalkeeper, lost for a bad hit dirt.

      I understand .

      Ah , you understand ! It seemed like a joke. Garibaldi landed at Marsala and Vittorio Emanuele II, who says he does not know anything about it . What a great parent ! Instead, there's a losing battle , a losing battle here, and they ripped me off the kingdom .

      She met him a few times the general? And , if you could talk to him, what would you say ?

      No. I have never met personally , Mr. Peppino . ' O General . They call it also the hero of two worlds. What the Worlds ? At best it was in Argentina. All we need is someone to say out loud : Giuseppe Garibaldi is here! So I get up , when I see him walk through the door , and go toward him . On away!

      The joke is too strong. From rice it makes me cry. I take my handkerchief and wipe my tears.

      Soon after, Francis begins to speak .

      You know, I'm the king . The King of Naples , even if the people gave me that name : Frankie . No. I would not have nothing to ask Mr. Garibaldi.

      It feels offended by this nickname ?

      And I believe you. Franceschiello is certainly not Francescone . You mean.

      I mean , your majesty .
