About this ebook

When Lorelai Simmons gets dumped on her 21st birthday, she thinks things can't get any worse.
However, she soon finds herself stranded in a dodgy bar with no phone and no way home.
Fed up, she decides to make the most of it and hopes her luck will turn around. So, with the help of the affectionately named Gold Tooth, Lorelai is christened Sweet Peach and promised one hell of a birthday!
Enter Blue Eyes.
When Hagen Stevenson enters the bar, Lorelai is immediately drawn to him. However, Hagen seems intent on keeping his distance and doesn't seem all that interested in Lorelai.
But when Lorelai wakes up the next morning with no memory of the night before, it's up to Blue Eyes to refresh her memory!

This is dedicated to my Granny McClean – Sadie.

She passed away not too long ago and I found myself in a bit of a writing rut until this idea came to me.

It’s a bit wacky and complete nonsense of course … but that’s what makes it so fun!

Anyway, my Granny was a great story-teller and loved to laugh.

So Granny, wherever you are, this one’s for you ...

I know you would’ve loved it!

As always, thanks to my family, my friends, and everyone else who has continued to support me through this incredible journey.

And to you – my readers – I hope you have a good old belly laugh at this story!

    Chapter One

You know we’ve been dating for a while now. he says, looking deeply into my eyes.

Excitement builds in my stomach as I nod and smile at him. Three years.

He nods. Yeah, and it’s been fun.

I nod emphatically. Yeah, it really has. I concur.

The butterflies in my stomach start going crazy.

This is it. He’s finally going to pop the question!

I smile at him encouragingly. He suddenly looks really nervous so I try to put him at ease.

Hey, whatever you want to say, go ahead.

He sucks in a deep breath and throws me a weak smile. I’ve actually been thinking about this for a while now.

I’m practically giddy now but I manage to compose myself. I want to remember every second of this moment.

Go on. I tell him, throwing him a wide smile.

He takes a rather large gulp of his beer and smiles nervously at me.

Aw bless, he needs some Dutch courage!

Lorelai, I – I’m sorry … he trails off, as if he’s struggling to find the right words.

I shake my head. It’s okay, take your time. What did you want to say? I ask calmly, afraid I’ll start hyperventilating if he doesn’t ask me soon.

He sucks in another deep breath and downs the rest of his beer.

    Wow, he’s really nervous!

He stares at me for a minute and then nods his head. Okay, I can do this. he tells himself quietly.

I bite back a laugh and instead smile encouragingly at him.

He throws me a small smile. Lorelai, I’m sorry but I don’t think this is going to work out.

    I’m sorry? What the hell?

I stare at him, completely dumbfounded and will myself not to cry. I’m sorry? Are you breaking up with me … on my birthday?

He nods and gives me a shrug as if to say ‘hey, what can I say’.

Anger swells in the pit of my stomach. "You choose to take me out to a nice restaurant just to break up with
