After serving for thirty-six years in various types ofterrain, foreign posting to Botswana, participating in wars and holding prestigious command, staff and instructional appointments, he retired in 2000. For his meritorious service, he was awarded the Vishsht Seva Medal by the President of India. After retirement, he wrote and spoke extensively onLife and Attitude.
