He is responsible for much of her success in life and the book is dedicated to him. Although not currently a pet owner, she encounters a lot of dogs and cats in her neighborhood and sometimes they visit her where she works. Her advice to anyone who wants to get a pet is to remember that it takes a lot of care, concern, and hard work. Nothing is easy in life, but having a pet is well worth it.
