After spending many years in the Royal Air Force as an Armourer, then working as a technician in nanotechnology and as a photographer, he now teaches Engineering. His first love is motorcycling followed closely by history and travel. When not teaching, researching or writing he is often to be found exploring country lanes or winding roads on a motorcycle, or exploring old buildings and ruins somewhere in the world.
